All loyalty programs are marketing programs and every perk, no matter how small, costs something.
Resources on cruises ships are limited. No program is sustainable without change.
If anything, Carnival will beef up the lower tiers, since that is more in line with their target market.
The terms and conditions on crossover cruises
"Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event a Member books a Cruise in which such Member will attain the necessary VIFP Points to reach a new Level during or by the end of such Cruise (a “Crossover Cruise”), CCL may, in its sole discretion, offer such Member the Benefits offered to Members of the higher Level during the Crossover Cruise."
This is not a change - the words have been there forever.

I don't see any listed, but frankly if I were cruising from Dover, I'd find a local liquor store and by a bottle (if they have any). You could save serious bucks.
They don't run on a schedule - when they fill up they leave. The last one will leave whenever it does. If you have lots of time, you might consider one of the tours with airport transportation.
I think it likely taxis are better regulated than Uber, but not sure who to complain to if they do take the long way. I do know a taxi from FLL to my hotel was cheaper than Uber and that an Uber from my hotel to the port was cheaper than a taxi. I think comparing prices is a reasonable thing to do.
It pays to know the taxi fare and cost for other options. I'm finding Uber can often cost more than a taxi. I guess they don't think people will shop around.
The water and ports are the same for most cruises. Some people might prefer more chrome and contemporary; some might prefer traditional. A shopping mall or comedy clubs. It's all good. I've still never had a bad cruise.
Cans aren't included in the Bubbles package.
Soft drink is served by the glass (16 ounces); juice is served by the glass (10 ounces
If some venues don't follow the rules, be happy.
Carnival and Celebrity are not direct competitors. Just off a Celebrity cruise, and while my cabin was great, the cruise was also free. If I had to pay for the cruise, I wouldn't.
Btw, you can find the exact same comment - Death by 1000 cuts on the Celebrity board. Probably Princess, too, which I prefer to Celebrity.
MSC is privately held, but is not a single owner. Their cruise biz is nothing compared to their commercial side which does supply tons of cash to the cruise venture. The cruise biz can't hemorrhage cash forever - there will be a limit.
As for raising prices, Carnival already has raised prices for onboard items and now it is time to raise cruise prices. They are not alone in that.
Carnival is by far the biggest cruise corporation in Europe. Bigger that MSC and bigger than Royal, NCL, etc. MSC should stick to commercial shipping, which is something they know (but still are not number 1 there). Cherry pick all you want.
