  1. If never should have expired July 31 of any year. That date coincides with nothing. Nov 30 is the end of the Carnival fiscal year.
  2. Yet it lives. There's your sign. Carnival switched to using stockperks while the prior benefit was in effect, causing much confusion and gnashing of teeth. The benefit, as described in the final annual report was not correct. Annual reports are for historic reporting, not for looking forward benefits that change.
  3. Offers only available for new bookings, on select cruises, on a limited availability, are capacity controlled (regardless of stateroom availability), and may not be combined with other offers or promotions (aside from those listed herein). Other exclusions may apply; void where prohibited.
  4. Cost cost of the drink package is baked into the fare. Same with diners. You can decline the package to avoid the gratuity, but your fare doesn't go down a nickle. Yes, we know NCL can have better deals for singles than Carnival.
  5. Another nonsense post. Where have I said New Orleans is going straight to XL? But instead of Carnival, NCL will have the largest ship in New Orleans. Again. Speaking of aging ships (more nonsense), Carnival Miracle fits right in with Carnival Jubilee. 🙂
  6. Carnival has $100 fares out of Galveston, too. You say they couldn't sell rooms, but obviously they did. You are proof. Carnival doesn't make most of their money selling cabins. There are many other factors including tax incentives that factor in, and I guarantee "somebody else" has no access to Carnival inside information.
  7. You say Dream wasn't making money without any proof. Surely you don't believe that. Your whole argument is bogus.
  8. They shuffled more capacity to Galveston and took a cruise ship that was doing well with 7 day cruises and put it on short cruises out of Galveston. Even that wasn't enough, and a Vista class ship took that over. The per diem for shorter cruises is higher than longer cruises. New Orleans has broken their pre-pandemic record for number of cruisers. But other cruise lines are moving in. Choice is good. Carnival loves competition. At least the New Orleans port doesn't close because of a little fog like others do.
  9. Whether or not the tip is baked in or added, I tip extra. The staff deserve it.
  10. If they are putting anything on the shirts that is trademarked by Carnival - like the funnel - Carnival might be interested in reducing their profits. Look for lots of duck sale scams - particularly as they get loser to being banned. Operating a business on Carnival ships without permission is strictly prohibited.
  11. I think you know Carnival brands don't release data like that. Some people just like speculating.
  12. It was 3 and they did it twice - before the new Panama locks opened. Then they took Splendor through the new locks. Both Princess and HAL do SA and Antarctica and I doubt Carnival would be interested.
  13. Royal Caribbean is still porting IN Haiti. Labadee. A private port leased by Royal. In must be safe. 🙂
  14. We agree to disagree. I do plan on carry on liquor on our 2 European cruises this year, but am aware I could be stopped.
  15. I never said you can't. I do it myself. We often cruise in Europe. I also am aware of the ticket contract which everyone agrees to abide by. You used to hear bottles of liquor clinking along in people's luggage in US ports until Carnival decided to crack down. You can do it until you can't. And then some will whine about it.
  16. It is correct. The ticket contract is the ticket contract. Whoever "they" are, are mistaken. I would like someone to produce documentation that cruise lines are prohibited from enforcing. Local regulations would be just that and not applicable to all ports. I have seen them setting up a liquor collection table.
  17. Carnival's policy doesn't change in Europe, but enforcement is lax. They could enforce anytime. When you leave the ship in a port, if they have set up a liquor collection table, that is a clue.
  18. Royal has to charge more in order to cover fixed costs. Your lack of economic knowledge shows
  19. Cruising out of New Orleans is growing, but that might be too much of a jump. Carnival certainly should put a Dream class back in New Orleans at a minimum, but more likely a Vista class.
  20. I think they might open on schedule - there was already a delay by Hurricane Dorian that wrecked the island. I don't get the appeal of taking a floating shopping mall/amusement park to an island amusement park/shopping center, but apparently some do. I travel to learn and experience what other cultures have to offer.
  21. I can see where safety is a concern, and flame-retardant materials would be required. So yes, Princess could sell something that meets that requirement. I can also see where doors can be (are?) damaged by some of the decorations applied. Perhaps compromise and use sidewalk chalk to decorate? Carnival Cruise Line has had a policy for years. What they lack is enforcement. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3256/~/decorating-your-stateroom-door-and-stateroom
