  1. I think many probably are. The government (using the term loosely) is corrupt and incompetent. I think the gangs are in charge at the moment.
  2. I can see a one time trial for Carnivores to try other brands, within limits - say only so many per cruise, first come, first served.
  3. I just don't see it. The number of Carnival cruisers dwarfs the number of cruisers on the other brands who "earned" their status. I don't think Corporate wants to drive away the really loyal customers for the other brands who already were shafted when Corp bought the brands. Product (brand) differentiation is very important which includes loyalty programs. You don't want Carnival brands cannibalizing each other more than they already do. Carnival wants cruisers who cruise for the brand, not for perks.
  4. Carnival Cruise Lines- most ships also Disney
  5. Really the only people dreaming of this are Carnival cruisers. The other brands - not so much. The Princess brand still counts cruises or sail days toward loyalty levels and it is much easier to get to the highest level on Princess than on Carnival.
  6. Might be aware of when Spring Break is. Carnival does have a minimum age to book cabins.
  7. once upon a time, maybe. change happens.
  8. The gratuities are included, but it doesn't equal 18% to the staff. Some will tip additional.
  9. CCL's fiscal year ends Nov 30.
  10. The Dominican Republic is reinforcing security of the border and has stated they aren't going to accept Haitian refugees. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41806-haiti-security-the-dominican-republic-strengthens-border-surveillance.html
  11. I would guess that it would be extended before the end of 2024 and put the benefit on a calendar year basis instead of the odd ball July 31 date.
  12. I wonder how many will remember that currently the benefit is not part of the initial annual report nor is a shareholder meeting needed to renew it.
  13. The Dominican Republic is aware of the situation. The thugs want the current dictator to step down as he promised some time ago. Currently he isn't even in the country.
  14. and has nothing to do with an Annual Report or a shareholder meeting. All it takes is the Board to make it so.
  15. Did I not say on the Carnival board that the CCL Board didn't need a shareholder meeting to approve? This happens every year. I need to try to remember to bookmark it.
  16. I would think so. Then it really could be included in the Annual Report.
  17. Always having an expiration date of July 31 was what was weird.
  18. I didn't think it was. Not on the agenda. Nor part of the initial annual report. Just something the board votes on at their discretion.
  19. at least for this year https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit/ The benefit is available on sailings through December 31, 2024. Applications to receive this benefit should be made at least three weeks prior to cruise departure date.
  20. at least for this year https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit/ The benefit is available on sailings through December 31, 2024. Applications to receive this benefit should be made at least three weeks prior to cruise departure date.
  21. Maybe a Canada thing? I just tried and almost accidentally booked another cruise. 🙂 Try a different browser? Clear cache?
