  1. oh it was awful and because some kiwi had been in it before me I continually had people bothering me knocking on the door looking for the party and some of these people were officers!
  2. it would depend on whether Princess is full or not and there is availability. It might be only available as an occasional thing not a constant dining situation. The courtyard is open to both classes though and a compromise could be lunch on the courtyard?
  3. yes, easy walk, slthough, short as it is you will be guarranteed to work up a sweat.
  4. neither can i...problem is word is out....
  5. I had 5002 during the covid trip of 2020, I blogged here http://butarewethereyet.blogspot.com/2020/03/our-visit-to-port-everglades-that-wasnt.html with some pictures and subsequently on the preceding blogs about the parties I had in it. It was terrific and all my other friends in Princess were extremely jealous when comparing it to their own, so please don't tell anyone else about it. It has since been unavailable and is becoming too popular.. I didn't find a single con against the suite, I loved the fact that you could hear the thrusters in and out of port and also that you had a little more motion. The forward facing window was terrific and once I turned the lights out in the cabin at night I would open the curtains so that more often than not the sun would stream in early in the morning for a natural wakeup call. \ Best suite on the ship.....
  6. If you are really desperate...I will be doing one from Auckland, http://exitviathegiftshop.blogspot.com
  7. less of the Kava I would suggest .. but you are right about RLS, our last 2 visits there were scarpered by cyclones which unfortunately is a common occurrence in this part of the world at this time of the year.
  8. I think you mean Pago Pago....
  9. with all due respect saltycroc and not to downplay the situation - the is only a recommendation and a lot can still happen in the next few weeks. Rather than panic passengers it's probably better to wait and hear from Cunard and/or see what happens in the next month or so. It doesn't look too good but I wouldn't cancel plans just yet..
  10. He did have an interesting life. if someone wanted to you can also walk up the hill behind the house to his grave....I haven't done the walk but it would be a choice next time Im in Samoa...(as long as it wasn't a Sunday)
  11. keeping well out of it!!!!! although, I have to say, a recent trip to Milan showed me that a lot of Italian men are sporting rolled suit trousers past their ankles and shoes without visible socks. (the trick being there is an ankle sock you can wear that doesn't show and therefore....no aroma'd feet) Mind you only the Italians can wear fashion like this.....anyone else....sorry we don't have the genes to carry it off......
  12. Here are a couple of articles I wrote about day trips in Samoa, https://roscoesseafever.blogspot.com/2017/04/i-travel-not-to-go-anywhere-apia-samoa.html I can thoroughly recommend getting your own taxi and driving up to his house, then the falls and then visiting the Bahai temple on the way back down towards the town, https://roscoesseafever.blogspot.com/2019/03/tonga-malo-e-lelei.html and also if you wanted to just relax and have a walk and then a relaxing drink at Aggies and perhaps a swim,, Not sure if you will be in Samoa on a Sunday but recently ships are now not allowed to call there on a Sunday as a new government edict states that it is illegal for them to work that day and not even the providers or docksiders are allowed to service ships.
  13. I agree 100%. each time I'm on the Queen V I wonder if it will be the last and this years WC looks to be the last for me for a while. Fortunately the QV is South America next year so don't have to make a drastic decision. When I look at the countries that we used to go to that we can no longer, it was only 2008 and 2010 that I had trips booked to Syria, and Russia looks problematic now too let alone Egypt Israel and the Canal
  14. you disappoint me maggielou, what about if they have been bedazzled?
  15. watching closely, that could be a game changer but maybe it means the QV and QM may cross paths this year which would be great!
  16. sounds like they may be de riggueur this trip.....
  17. Omg i forgot about the laundry, missiles at 100 paces….. theres barely enough room to swing a cat let alone a bazooka
  18. don't......Im sure all the pirates will have the proper dress code warning in advance........ (have a great trip....youll love it.....)
  19. they wouldn't dare, the clothes police would make absolute mincemeat out of them in the MDR and god-forbid if there was a Formal night onboard and they didn't adhere. They would have no idea which wine to pair with dinner let alone be able to cope with a few hands of bridge. No, no self respecting pirate would tangle with a Cunarder
  20. hate to disagree BellBoy but the internet minutes under the old system rolled over for me.... maybe it was dependant on who was running the Internet service, but needless to say I can't imagine it would under the new system....
  21. yes its just whether they will risk the ire of hitting a merchant ship full of international passengers and nationalities, would they risk having America Australia England France Germany (and the kiwis ferocious maoris warriors) on top of you. Mind you, the mindless acts currently being undertaken......maybe they would risk it....
  22. I wondered about this recently. Very glad our QV is going around South Africa on the WC this year. They seem to be attacking commercial ships at this stage, the outcry if they attacked a cruise ship with its numerous nationalities onboard could bring them results they are not prepared for. But to suddenly change the QMS Itin this late and close to sailing would be problematic for Cunard - a lot of the providorring would already be on the high seas in containers ready to be accessed at Dubai and having to rebook ports this close to docking plus also rerouting passengers to board at Capetown rather than Dubai, passengers complaining that Carnival had "ruined their trip of a life time" by not going through the Suez etc would be a nightmare that they might not wish to address. I can see Carnival and other lines rethinking schedules for the future but I doubt they would change this late for this year.
  23. thanks Guys, Ive applied for a transit visa just in case, regards Roscoe
  24. curious to know if anyone has been to Sri Lanca recently by ship if the cruise ship organised the visa for you or you did it yourself before you boarded. In the past it has been done by the ship but this year our shipping g line has been a bit confusing about who organises it.
