  1. Free with the chairs🤷‍♀️😜 I was a little nervous, our Canada Geese are known as cobra chickens. 😳😂
  2. @rafinmd My condolences. It doesn’t matter the age, its still a loss even when it’s expected. We’ve loved those older people even longer. Sending prayers! @StLouisCruisers sorry you have no definitive diagnosis, The ships DR had me elevate my leg and use ice when it wasn’t a blood clot. That seemed to help me. @HAL Sailer prayers for your DB
  3. Good morning and thanks all! We visited Tunisia years ago and enjoyed it, not sure I have access to my photos easily. @kazu Shadow was my first dog’s name, interesting information about the type of dog. Hope the poor toe feels better soon! @dfish sorry you are having such issues with your flights, hope it is sorted out soon! @smitty34877 so sorry to hear about poor little Camilla and her parents, hope it is mild. @StLouisCruisersglad you are getting your leg checked today, I had an issue onboard last cruise and the ships dr had me off for an ultrasound, asap. I was lucky it wasn’t a clot, praying all works out for you.
  4. Finding the RIck Steve’s discussion very interesting. We used his books a lot in our earlier travels, but then found his recommended hotels overrun. The ambiance was totally destroyed. We also found he missed a lot of truly amazing sites. I think he is a good place to start for planning but we too prefer to stay where we can walk to places easily, particularly in a city like Rome. Checkout other guide books like Frommers and Fodors too, and particularly the Michelin Green guide. It is fantastic. We have friends who have loved his tours, but the guidelines of having to carry one’s own luggage up several flights of stairs had us look elsewhere. We are independent travellers but have enjoyed a Globus tour.
  5. @TLCOhio thank you for the great article! Love the off the beaten path suggestions. Greece is one of our favourite places in the world and we’ve been near of few of these but you’ve whetted my appetite!
  6. Good day and thanks all! Love that quote as books are an important part of my life! Thanks for the beautiful port photos! @Heartgrove good news on your brother @Horizon chaser 1957 what a lovely gesture and beautiful scarf. Please remind me of your Etsy site, as I’ve forgotten. @Quartzsite Cruiser the Royal Hawaiian is such a great spot, but My favourite is their pink palace drink. Yum! One day I will stay there but we seldom go to Oahu. @kazu yikes on the toe, and pizza! But follow your heart and gut on the dog, only you will know when the time is right. Our friend got a new pup shortly after she lost her husband and it was a good thing for her. Looks like a very beautiful dog, one I’m not familiar with. happy Sunday, off to the lake
  7. My last one in Hawaii was Diphtheria and Tetanus, But here they wanted me to have all three, as Pertussis has made a come back. So DH had all three and I will next time too.
  8. Good morning and thanks for the kind words and prayers. Surgery is scheduled in two weeks thankfully looks like that should be enough, but will be glad to have that confirmed. @kazu sounds like there’s a story about the tetanus shot🤷‍♀️ A few years ago, I stepped on a thorn in Hawaii and it pierced my sandal and foot so had to go searching. A good reminder to check how longs it’s been. They’re good for ten years. @ger_77 yesterday was a mess for many, glad you stayed safe! Perhaps you need to change to frozen tundra and tornadoes, the joys of living on the prairies. my mock orange seems happy and smells divine.
  9. What a lovely post! We had the pleasure of traveling with Andrea too. Such a nice lady.
  10. Good morning and thanks all! So many great photos of Guernsey, loved the book and the movie! I’m going to check out the series Foyle’s war too. DH had a number of motorcycles including a chopped Harley sportster in the seventies. A lot of fun, And I could always hear him before he arrived 🤷‍♀️ We did have some tornadoes touch down, but luckily no loss of life. We escaped the worst of it. @ger_77 I too was upset about former Prime mInister Abe, so senseless and such a shock for Japan and the rest of the world. @TiogaCruiserour dealership was cheaper for tires than Costco, who knows? @dfish what great recipes and photos! @cat shepardinteresting wine, couldn’t tell if it was Oaked? @JazzyVbeautiful bloom! @Quartzsite Cruiser glad you have a good doc, hope all goes well! my Japanese peony is blooming!
  11. What a wonderful tribute to your DM. My mother was similar, lost my dad after severe Rheumatoid arthritis and a year in hospital with supra nuclear palsy and she was early 70s so she travelled a lot with us. I too try to look at the cup as half full. We are grateful for all the travel we have done. @kazu sending extra hugs today! We have severe storm with tennis ball hail and tornado warnings, the flight path of the cloud seeding planes!
  12. Good morning and thanks all! @HAL Sailer Your Wisdom and grace continue to amaze me. Thank you! Off to be eaten alive before the big thunderstorms. Oh, summer in Canada One of my roses is about to open, the wild ones are gorgeous,
  13. @marshhawkAlso highly recommend Rome cabs. They’re reliable, make sure to book them well ahead. Try to stay near Campo di Fiori, it’s very central and nice to wander around in the evenings. You could fly through London coming or going, BA let’s you do a stop over either direction. Katakalon is the port to see Olympia. It is a ways from the port so you’ll need a tour. The port is a small town with a nearby winery and little tourist train that explores locally and takes you to the beach. i also recommend Ephesus, they can drop you at the top and you walk gently down to where they’ll pick you up, we enjoyed the Terrace houses but not sure about how accessible they are. Some people think Mary’s house is a tourist trap but we enjoyed seeing it.
  14. Good morning and thanks all! Like Geri, I can’t fathom umbrella cover day but will happily celebrate fried chicken, in particular Korean! @StLouisCruisersSandi, I’m so sorry that the news is so grim. Prayers for strength and peace for you and your family. @marshhawk so excited for you, Greece is one of our favourite places, glad you seized the moment! Happy to answer any questions I Can. We visited Geiranger years ago with our DS and enjoyed our trip.
  15. Make sure you have Insurance so you can shop right away if needed. Also don’t pack anything that you can’t live without in your checked luggage. All medical items and a change of clothes and valuables should be in carryon only. It shouldn’t need to be stated but…..
  16. Good morning! Thanks all! @kochleffel @Heartgrove @StLouisCruisers and @Quartzsite CruiserLove seeing the photos of Stockholm, our first visit we nearly slept through, after an eleven hour time change that had us waking up early except that day, lol! We had to visit again! @TiogaCruiser wow on those sunflower volunteers! @arzz well said! @Seasick Sailor enjoy Maui! @Overhead Fredwhat a lovely view! Drool!
  17. Syracusa has a wonderful ancient Roman and Greek theatre to see. It is also very nearby beautiful Ortygia , with a lovely market to eat at. We booked a private tour and also visited Noto and a nearby winery with Nero D Avila. A wonderful spot
  18. Good morning and Happy fourth to our American friends. We’ve enjoyed seeing Garth Brooks twice and Shani Twain in concert. We were camping on the weekend and some great fireworks with firefighters in attendance.
  19. Good luck with your claim, it all depends on if the delay was within the airlines control. Let us know how you make out, there are so many delays currently it will be interesting to see how these are considered.
