  1. Not really... Greece changed requirements effective September 24th. The email from Celebrity I quote from above is dated today, September 27th.
  2. I was hoping to receive an email from Celebrity reflecting the relaxation of Greece's COVID requirements in advance of boarding the Edge on Sunday, but I guess that would be asking too much. Today's email contains the following paragraph: For all sailings visiting Greece, self-tests will not be accepted. Guests who are required to test must complete a supervised COVID-19 test from either an antigen test result taken within 2 days prior to boarding or a negative PCR test result taken within 3 days prior to boarding. The test must be supervised by a health professional, such as a doctor, pharmacy technician, public health worker, or telehealth representative. We are pleased to make supervised test kits available for order pre-cruise below. Fully-Vaccinated** Guests and Unvaccinated Guests may be subject to additional mid-cruise testin. The Celebrity website tells us Greece's requirements have changed while their email indicates no change. What are we to do?
  3. Passages is obviously created on a computer. It would be quite easy to make it available online in some form or emailed as an attachment daily to those who request it.
  4. Checking call history I note a number of calls using WhatApp onboard the Silhouette in February 2020.
  5. We've experience the Polaris Lounge at EWR and are looking forward to it again. It'll be the high point of our travel day I'm sure. Our thinking exactly. Our flight to FCO departs at 8:40pm and with meal service likely beginning an hour later I'm thinking of foregoing onboard dinner in favor of getting to sleep on the early side. We found the buffet to our liking, but will likely check out the restaurant menu. Enjoyed the top shelf beverages...will do so again.
  6. You're correct...thank you for the explanation. I checked my paperwork after I read your post. I was under the mistaken impression first class and business class were equal...just different terminology for domestic and internaitonal. Anyway, United will have an opportunity to redeem itself this Sunday as we have a four-hour layover at EWR on our way to FCO. We're looking forward to making ourselves at home in the Polaris lounge.
  7. Some airlines have funky rules relating the lounge access, but the class of ticket you have should provide the same benefit whether purchased from the airline or through Regent. Delta has a number of different upper classes, so you might want to check directly with the airline for what your class of ticket offers. A case in point... We flew business class on United from HNL to IAD last winter. That business class ticket did not get us into the United lounge. Fortunately my DW had two lounge passes. On Sunday we're flying to Rome in United's Polaris business class and it comes with Polaris lounge access. Doesn't make sense, but those are the rules.
  8. We've also stayed many times at Albergo Cesari...now 9Hotel Cesari. Guess the new owners feel the new name sounds more Italian. 🙄 Although it appear the rooftop has been upgraded, reports I have read say the rooms did not receive much of a refurbishment. Now the daily room rate is more than Albergo del Senato for an inferior experience IMHO.
  9. Right! We insure everything that can't be canceled without penalty.
  10. We had to cancel a cruise booked for fall 2021 due to a health issue. Both Chase and the travel insurance company paid their fair share.
  11. We buy our travel insurance from Steve and we don't find that to be the case at all. In fact he recommended I reduce the insured trip cost by the amount Chase Sapphire Reserve provides...$20,000.
  12. I hear you... On other lines we usually arrive around noon; however, since we're both sailing on the January 21st sailing of the Splendor perhaps we can share a taxi. 🙄
  13. We have not yet sailed with Regent, but we've read enough here on CC to know it's very possible to be assigned a less than desirable hotel in a less than desirable location. We have a number of Regent cruises booked and we've taken the credit on all. In Miami were staying on points for three nights at Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami.
  14. There are specific requirements for the content of a Certificate of Recovery. A simple note will not suffice...
  15. We will be embarking the Splendor in January at PortMiami. Can anyone recommend a time to arrive that will not coincide with Regent's transfer bus arrival?
  16. What you posted is currently valid. However, the wording is may not will. I expect Celebrity would need to do the testing if necessary since there is no requirement that we bring our own test kits.
  17. We're on that cruise and as of right now we need a proctored COVID test within two days of embarkation. There is no requirement for additional testing before calling on any port.
  18. I purchased our iPhones directly from Apple. The phones I receive will be unlocked as were the last ones I purchased.
  19. You're fortunate Verizon is available at the remote locations you frequent. But to say Verizon is the best for everyone is pushing it a bit. We're currently using the iPhone X...new iPhone 14 Pros are to be delivered next Friday. I'm excited to try eSims for our upcoming trip to Europe later this month. We're signed up for AT&T's International Day Pass which would cost upwards of $250-$300 for the two of us. eSims for the entire 40-day trip will cost a maximum of ~$100 depending which ones we go with. As for coverage in the US... If I find locations I visit do not have good coverage with the new phone, I can purchase and install eSims that use Verizon's or T-Mobile's network and activate them when needed for just a few dollars per day.
  20. Thank you... I don't recall ever making more than one call on a cruise...usually we make none. However, it's good to know it can be done if necessary.
  21. Is Wi-Fi calling onboard at least useable? I read so much about the poor quality of Regent's internet service. We used to use Comcast's app to make free calls back to the US from Europe using cell data or Wi-Fi until it was discontinued. We've also used WhatsApp and Signal onboard other cruise lines with excellent results. Hope those two apps will at least function onboard Regent.
  22. It appears the Verizon plan will cover you in Turkey, but not Dubai...and you didn't specify the other Middle East countries. SIMs would definitely offer the best solution. I find the best place to learn what might be available is the esimdb website. If your cell phone can take advantage of eSIMs you'll find the site especially convenient.
  23. Overstuffed...is that even possible? 🙄
  24. We're long-time Princess cruisers and were spoiled by their OBC carryover on B2Bs. One of the few things Princess did well before we left them for other cruise lines.
