  1. in other words ... there is ONE garage to serve several terminals ....... btw I got sent there when cruising from T-18 and there was NO shuttle ..... port parking at PE is a disaster ..... look for an alternative . . .
  2. I doubt my son would book a single again after his recent experience on ODYSSEY OTS .... the cabin was SMALL - he's not - the bed was only a 'full' not even a queen and he his feet hung off the end! lesson learned . . . (p.s. he's an experienced cruiser ... DCL Platinum - did the inaug' voyage of WISH just recently.)
  3. yes you can drop bags first and I'm pretty sure they run a shuttle bus when the parking is not adjacent ..... they are probably meaning the garage between 19 and 25 aka the mid-port garage .... We cruised from PE- T-18 over Thanksgiving and parking at the port was a mess .... they were stuffing cars anyplace they could find enuf space to squeeze one in. I was directed to park in a space marked NO PARKING ..... We've sailed from PE several times but always had a ride to the terminal and did not leave car there......If I ever need to drive myself to PE again I'll use https://www.bookparkngo.com/ftlauderdale.php ... I tried at Thanksgiving but they were full with reservations over a month out . . .
  4. Miami has had cruise ship congestion for a LONG time and as a big city a TON of taxi .... IOW no issues. Compare to Port Canaveral: this issue is new and the surrounding area is basically a small town ......
  5. I'm pretty sure QM2 put in a few a lil while back as well . .
  6. ODYSSEY OTS (Royal) has outside balcony cabins for one .... small and not a bunch of 'em but son had one for Thanksgiving cruise . . .
  7. 6 typically https://www.portcanaveral.com/getattachment/Cruise/Cruise-Lines-Schedules/CPA-Website-Schedule-Nov22-Mar23.pdf.aspx?lang=en-US
  8. covid zapped 'em all and have not seen any plans for reopening. if I was going in near future I'd just walk or taxi to SUNSET HOUSE and My Bar ..... they survived . . .
  9. T-6 is a shared terminal and Royal uses it routinely for the past couple of years. There is a parking garage adjacent to T-6 <as are for all the terminals in Canaveral> IME (6 + times) you can drop bags and then park . . . garage to terminal is about a football field . .
  10. dayuse.com shows nothing in the cocoa beach area .... closest place with a day use room is in Viera (20 miles south) and not anywhere near the beach ...... tripadvisor had the question 5 years ago and closed with no replies. At one time I believe International Palms did day rooms but the website now says permanently closed as the property was sold and there are plans to level it and build a new conference center and hotel. Place had been on last legs for a long time but managed to hang on due to a good on the beach location . . . (confirmed ... closed in Oct)
  11. Jetty Park Beach and the Cocoa Pier have concessions operations that rent chairs and umbrellas and such at jetty park : https://islandwatercraftbeachrentals.com/ cocoa beach pier : https://www.cocoabeachpier.com/things-to-do/ these are not the only places that rent beach stuff but just two example. Most of the popular beach entry points will have something near by .....
  12. all of the A or NORTH terminals are separated from the 'COVE' by a drawbridge <red box> which is closed to foot traffic ... there are no sidewalks or footpaths and the bridge tenders will call security. A taxi or UBER is not much $
  13. there's a taxi stand / dispatcher as of my last visit
  14. there are companies that will do this but not a 'standing operation' ...... google port canaveral shuttle and look at details . . . UBER is an option as well.
  15. recently some one mentioned that a taxi handling a terminal to terminal fare was allowed to rejoin the queue at the front versus the back ...... which might explain why I've never seen anyone complaining about a taxi refusing a terminal to terminal fare (short ride) despite the question coming up regularly. truth? dunno ... but like I said no one has come back after asking the question and related a horror story . . .
  16. port tampa web cam showed ships ARRIVING at port at 4pm . . . . 😮 there was fog at Canaveral too but the law allows ship movements in for here and cruise ships were parked with minimal delays Tampa has fog restrictions because of a BAD history of accidents including sinking of USCG Cutter BLACKTHORN and M/V CAPICORN hitting the Sunshine Skyway bridge and knocking down a span ... both incidents involved significant loss of life . .
  17. one factor I've not seen mentioned yet: for me smaller is better ...... on ODY in Nov we never felt the 'crush' so typical of OASIS class. Yes, I'm spoiled having discovered VIKING river and ocean as our now 'first choice' line but the Thanksgiving cruise was a family outing with each family paying their own way so it was a compromise . . . I REALLY noticed the lower pass' count in virtually every aspect as compared to our OASIS class cruises. AND BTW ... one of our parties was a single cruiser and ODY offers single person cabins! It was crazy small but a better choice as compared to 34' son sharing with parents or paying single supplement . . . my way of thinking anywho.
  18. I did a bit of digging and have not found anything .... even off site parking for the airport is sparse. I think ya just gotta suck this one up .... of course you ARE doing the Marg'ta cruise so what did you expect?
  19. last time I was up that way it was still under construction but if open now is in the same general area
  20. much newer property - one building with Home2suites and Hampton sharing common center / desk / pool etc. Shown in relation to Radisson . .
  21. closed and web site still says closed (shocked they are now maintaining the web site!!!!!)
  22. IMO: you've done OASIS class several times ... why not try something new. I too have done OASIS a couple of times and just last month did ODY' ...... yes it is smaller (including narrower!) but did not notice motion at any time - our sailing was particularly 'weather free' The ship layout is VERY different and I'm not saying better or worse .... but DIFFERENT. ANTHEM class has 'less stuff' as compared to OASIS but that's subjective as there is DIFFERENT stuff. Personally I'm past the 'stuff' but my kids (well kids in my mind but actually in their 30's) who have done OASIS class (and others) were HAPPY with the 'stuff' on ODY' like FLY and bumper cars (and that area was used for pickle ball in the mornings) Bottom line: I'm a strong proponent of: try new things! If you stay with Royal which you've cruised before you should be comfortable about TOO much being different . . .
  23. https://www.portofpalmbeach.com/217/Parking-Information Please Note: Self parking and covered parking are not available at the Port of Palm Beach for passengers embarking on a cruise. I'm not aware of any other parking in the area ..... option would be to use someplace near the airport and UBER to the port but ya ain't all that close to the airport ...... <daughter lives in West Palm>
  24. Nor Escape is usually at CT-10 which is in the north side of the port meaning you must cross the draw bridge. It does not open all that often but if it does don't panic - the delay is not long. as you cross the bridge you'll easily see the ship so pretty hard to get lost ..... just follow the big signs. I've never had an issue doing a drop at T-10
