  1. the turn to the west and MCO happens very near the 528/95 interchange .. this is the closest point tween tracks and port .... approx 7.6 miles ... actually the land being planned for a potential station and actual terminal locations mean further . . .
  2. on the north/south leg the tracks are alongside the pre-existing FEC tracks which stay pretty close to US-1
  3. stay at an airport hotel on arrival Sat early AM and take an UBER or rent a car to a different hotel for Sat DAY and until Sun AM. You have time to enjoy some beach time ... water side bar ......
  4. I wonder if someone is mistaking Red COACH for Red BUS ...... I can't recall ever seeing a bad review of Red COACH which is a premium bus . . .
  5. this bounce thing sounds really great BUT I checked just a few details. Suppose I departed a ship in Port Canaveral this morning and want my bags held a few hours due to a late flight (wanna go to the beach) There is a location at PC .... YES here's their hours copied from their web page: am I wrong but doesn't this ay if I drop my bags off exiting a cruise on Saturday I can't get them back until Sunday . . .
  6. isn't this formerly the Ron Jon timeshare?
  7. the article about pier expansion mentions a 2023 completion ... Our main cruise ships quay, Sundabakki, has officially started the extension project this month (Feb, 2021). This construction of extension of 300 meters in the port of Isafjordur will bring the sundabakki quay to a length to 500 meters with deepest draft reach to 11M (see picture). This project will fully complete at year 2023, and we expect to service and welcome more ships at summer 2022. This project is aiming to service and respond the growing demand from the market of cruise ships. but the top image says it is from 2023 and there are no signs of work underway - and a project like this does NOT happen overnight. SOOOOO??? ..... I'll be there on VIKING mid July and maybe I'll be able to let you know then! Viking Ocean ships are 745 ft for reference. We are scheduled to dock not tender. p.s. PRIMA is listed at 981'
  8. one way car rentals to Orlando airport are pretty common and allow you to put your bags in the trunk (boot) ..... I don't know of any luggage storage in beach or Orlando areas that I'd recommend other than a hotel that might hold bags pending a later checkin . . .
  9. If the linked Amazon product is the one you actually used and it holds a few more items than a phone, then that is exactly what I will pick up. what I linked is actually more expensive then the exact one I have! Just be sure to get a case large enuf for your particular phone .... I have an iPhone XR .... older, smaller .... we used all 4 cases (4 people each with a phone) and NO LEAKS .... I've used mine a dozen times since.
  10. note the only facilities here are rest room and simple shower house .... no food, rentals or even water unless someone shows up selling ice cream (occasional) so bring your own. Between town and here is Sunset House where you can find 'My Bar' down by the water .... one of the most popular restaurant / bars on Cayman https://www.sunsethouse.com/island-info-my-bar-a-local-favorite Just follow the road / parking lot along side 'office' building towards the water .... ya can't miss it.
  11. I wear a phone pouch around my neck. Easily holds phone a few bills ship 'card', credit card and a photo ID. Waterproof. This one is TWO for $10 on amazon: Hiearcool Waterproof Phone Pouch, Waterproof Phone Case I shot this video with one at discovery Cove:
  12. just sayin' thanks' for the info here ... we're on a cruise that ends in Reyk' and plan to spend a couple of days. I looked at the site for the Golden Circle tour and see a price for 'small group' as 16.900 IKR / person which is $123.25 US if my app is giving me the correct exchange rate. You CAN book it as a private tour as well and the fare goes up SIGNIFICANTLY https://sagatravel.is/gil203-golden-circle-small-group-tour/
  13. there are three locations for Enterprise in the general port area The Mullet Rd location is on port property. This is a shared office with National and Alamo - they share a shuttle as well. This is a somewhat new location - they MOVED from Cocoa Beach (A1A) to here a couple of years ago. Note there is a Cocoa location .... Cocoa and Cocoa Beach are completely different towns . . .
  14. kind late for this suggestion but you'd do better to fly into West Palm or even Miami (day before), get a rental car and drive to Canaveral picking up mom on the way. My daughter has lived in West Palm for several years and I'm in Canaveral ..... there ain't any good options beyond driving. there ain't much in the way of BAD options ..... I ran UBER for West Palm airport to Port Canav and see $200 in round numbers. A true limo company typically charges by the hour .....
  15. brightline will NOT be running to MCO by "next month" There has yet to be a single test run end to end on the Cocoa to MCO (east west) leg. Nor have I seen a single test run in the Melbourne area yet ..... testing has been announced and warning signs are up but seen a train? Nope. I drove sr 528 on Saturday - the Brightline tracks run along side - there was equipment working on the tracks (still)
  16. dateline 1983ish .... Mrs was doing the books for a travel agency (Miami) who was having cash flow issues. In lieu of pay one week they offered a pair of tickets for a 3 night cruise. We went and loved it. This happened several more times over the next few years expanding to 7 night cruises. Fast forward we've 60 some in the book and going <back> to Norway and Iceland via Viking Ocean this summer ..... In the beginning
  17. agree .... assuming the honeymoon is immediately after the wedding there won't be time to change names on the passport, diver's lic etc so book in maiden name as it appears on these documents. In other words she won't legally have a 'new identity' yet. They will still get 'newly wed' perks if they have been so identified. BTW not all married women change their name ...... there is no legal requirement to do so or is it 'automatic'. It is 'tradition'. She will have a legal reason to change her name by virtue of the marriage lic' ..... so places like passport office won't ask "why are you changing your name?" as opposed to establishing an alias . . .
  18. an advantage of sailing 'small ship' ...... got a ship with 3000 pax wanting to get ashore 🤢 got a ship with under 1000 ..... different story .....
  19. I've seen it mentioned that at POM when a taxi takes a local fare they are allowed to jump back to the front of the queue ......
  20. once ... never again .... the port is pretty much in the middle of down town. I worked down town for years and parking was $$$ and often not very secure. IMO anyplace that says they have low cost parking anywhere near the port is twisting the truth. The one time I tried off site in Miami I ended up parked in a recently cleared graveled lot and the attendant was in a lawn chair with an umbrella ..... on our return we waited an hour for a shuttle.
  21. good luck fal' is pretty much in the middle of nowhere in JA AND diving in JA isn't very good no matter where you are My job took me there - Ocho, port antonio, montego - regularly and I had R&R days and I dove to burn time .... I'd never pay to go there for a dive trip ..... if you find something please hang it here .....
