  1. Did the taxi stay with you the entire time, or are you saying you found a new taxi each time you were hopping from place to place? Rough estimate of taxi cost? We'll be a party of 6 in June, so either one large taxi or two normal ones. Thanks.
  2. OP, If you search on the net you can probably find photos of these... The order is as follows: Welcome Aboard Taste of France Taste of the UK Taste of the Caribbean Taste of Italy
  3. Very odd. Did you mention something to them? Agree, a ribeye is very easy to differentiate from other cuts.
  4. Thank you! I'm used to checking in with Royal and wasn't sure what the timing was for Celebrity Well, it helped me out since I did a search on the site for this very information and this thread popped up.
  5. You can always call and reprice up to final payment.
  6. We are doing the same itinerary and ship in June. We love Freedom Class (which Liberty is part of). It is smaller than Oasis class, but so is every other ship on the planet by a good margin. Liberty is still a big ship. What we like: Closer connection to the sea. The deck 4 walking track is not blocked by life boats so has great spots to sit and enjoy the view. Same as the helipad. It is accessible on the Liberty and awesome to visit at night. You can go to the very front of the ship Still has the nice large Royal Promenade, and we find it less busy (especially at night) than on Oasis class (especially by Sorrento's) Still has most of the same highlights: Ice Skating shows, great theater productions, Flow rider, Putt Putt, etc. It is VERY well laid out and easy to get from point A to point B (unlike Oasis class with the carved out middle of the ship). Voyager and Freedom classes are the best laid out ships we've ever sailed on. Excellent pool deck. Windjammer is sized better versus passenger count. The only ships we've ever had to be held back from entering the buffet are Oasis class. It can get slammed at peak times. What we miss vs Oasis Class: Covered Solarium Aqua Shows Central Park
  7. Or just book 3 or four to that cabin, and have one or two of them “no-show”. You will get the taxes and port fees back for those individuals as well.
  8. I don't get the fascination that folks are willing to shell out that kind of cash. Christmas and New Years weeks always jump heavily but still... We'll hope to sail Icon class eventually, but there are so many other ships with better prices, and even those are up ~40% or more.
  9. Sailing on the Equinox in December. Do you have a link to a thread or informative detailing what’s been added back? Thanks
  10. The minimum standard door width is 23” according to what I found searching the internet. I’m sure it might be wider depending on ship but pretty sure that’s that smallest you will encounter on a non accessible room Accessible rooms on Royal have 32”-34” doors to the cabin and bathroom
  11. Speaking of which, the whole ship within a ship concept that NCL and MSC (and to a certain level Celebrity). have with their dedicated spaces, really takes away from the overall enjoyment of a ship and drops it’s subsequent rating in my opinion. It carves out too much of the ship that general passengers are unable to access. If you want that upscale service, in my opinion, go with a true luxury line. This is one thing that I think royal Caribbean excels at. Their ship design and layout is second to none in my opinion, and they don’t carve out huge spaces for dedicated guests, at least not yet. Everyone has access to almost the entire ship.
  12. Yeah, never really been impressed with the solarium on the voyager and freedom class ships. (even though I love those classes of ships ). It’s just another outdoor pool area, nothing like the solarium on oasis and quantum class.
  13. I haven't been in a cabin yet, interior or balcony, on Voyager, Freedom, Quantum, or Oasis classes that couldn't fit at least one scooter (possibly two) inside the room without blocking the path out. Simply move the coffee table into the closet for instance.
  14. Will someone please do the same for Royal, Princess and NCL? Very interested to know their more recent average score. I don't need data with a 95% confidence interval, I'm just curious. Also, rather than the "last 60 reviews" I think it should be for a time period, like July, Aug, Sept 2023. Different lines sail many more passengers and will have more reviews in a given time period, so just going with 60 reviews might be two months for Celebrity, or one month for Royal, or 3 months for Princess (just as an example)
  15. Sounds like for you, it would just be checking it out and souvenir shopping. The food in the Windjammer is going to be FAR better than what's offered on Labadee. The food is convenient on Labadee but it's just burgers, grilled chicken, hot dogs... Having said that, we love Columbus Cove relaxing on a lounger with the ship in the background across the water. Food is just o.k., enough to "get the job done" but not something we look forward to. We really enjoy the laid back vibe of Labadee, and the view from the ship when docking is gorgeous.
  16. I push it out of the way as far as possible, right up against their door. It is a safety hazard and shouldn't be in the hallway. It's selfish and rude. I know cabins aren't huge, but if you bring a stroller, be prepared to store it in your cabin. We had a family that did this everyday on our July Alaska cruise (balcony cabin, forward). Like the OP, their cabin was near the elevator at the beginning of walkway leading to all the forward cabins. Everyone going that direction had to walk past the partially blocked walkway. We did speak with a room steward and they did say that the family has been spoken to, however it never changed. They did try to scoot the stroller closer to their cabin door for the last 1/2 of the cruise, but it wasn't enough.
  17. Sad to hear. Hopefully this wasn’t the “new norm” and rather a one-off experience. I guess we’ll see after your next Royal cruise
  18. Oh geesh! Cruisers down at customer service complaining about no breakfast and it’s not Royals fault. What a crappy situation!!
  19. Yeah, they have plenty of other areas on the ship. I have no problem with the 18 year old requirement in the solarium area. I also did not have a problem with it being 16 as long as the kids were not obnoxious. The only thing that ever has bothered me about kids on the ship is when they are running through the halls and stairs, or fill an elevator just going up and down acting like it’s their own private hang out. I guess the other one is when they fill up hot tubs at night and just hang there for an hour or more when others would like to use it.
  20. They do have that area, but knowing teens, I doubt that area is quiet. 🙂 My guess is it's either empty and "dead" or full and loud.
  21. That's what I was thinking, but then this statement threw me off... "Cooler the last two sea days but not cold. Arrived in Vancouver to a picture perfect fall day. " Almost makes it sounds like Vancouver is a final destination. Maybe they got the months mixed up? The whole post is written in a way that made it sound as though they go from Hawaii to Vancouver but that just can't be the case.
  22. Didn't Celebrity severely cut back the offerings in the buffet for dinner?
  23. Is it very likely that Sushi on 5 will be open on embarkation day lunch? I'm used to booking a specialty lunch on embarkation on our Royal sailings to avoid the buffet madhouse that day. I'm good with Sushi on 5 if that is open. No reservation required for lunch that day right? and we can order ala carte? (we sailed Equinox back in 2017 and I do seem to remember eating sushi for lunch on embarkation day, ala carte) Thanks in advance.
  24. I just wish they offered lunch in the specialty restaurants. Not sure why they don't. We especially like a specialty lunch on embarkation day to avoid the mess of the buffet that day.
