  1. Propulsion issue is resolved. Just off the 3-19 cruise on the Anthem and hit all ports on time(even a little early in some cases) Dan
  2. 3-19 sailing on the Anthem out of Bayonne… My wife and I each tried to bring two bottles (we have connecting staterooms and I was going solo to get us to Diamond on this cruise). She had one bottle taken away and it was delivered to our room the last night. I went through a different security line and made it through with both. There is signage in many locations saying one bottle per person in room (up to two max per room)
  3. That’s what we would normally do but our son is with us and it’s his first time there. I would like to give him a little feel for the island this time, good or bad. 😂 We are skipping port Canaveral and staying on the ship. We just spent a week there before Christmas in a VRBO so don’t need to return so soon
  4. Absolutely. I don’t have the WiFi package on the ship but can update at our first port which will either be Port Canaveral on the 21st or Nassau the following day. of course, if I find out anything before the cruise, I will make sure to post
  5. I still have not received word from Royal about tomorrow’s cruise. Maybe they resolved the propulsion issue?
  6. Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear about the wifi. No big surprise on Bayonne though, since there are two full days back to get there, the ship can crawl along even when the propulsion is at 100%. Interested to see if we get a letter tonight or tomorrow for an updated itinerary.
  7. Thank you. I was wondering how far ahead of time you received communication about the itinerary change. Dan
  8. Anyone getting an email or notification regarding the March 19th sailing? So far I have heard nothing and am assuming all will be as planned but I'm totally fine either way.
  9. I'm guessing the desire to impress the fiancé with "the cruising experience" also played into this. It sets the bar extra high right from the start. There is that desire to say... " See, this is what I was talking about!" ...but unfortunately that leads to blown out expectations and a need for everything to be over the top perfect
  10. I think I'll just bring 3 bottles between our two rooms. That way if they are adamant about taking one, we'll get it back the last evening before we go home. This typically happens by 7pm the last evening in our experience when we purchase liquor from the duty free shop so I assume this would be the same. Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.
  11. This is their wiggle room, highlighted. Nowhere else is change mentioned that applies to something like the wine bottle allotment. 9. PASSENGER’S OBLIGATION TO COMPLY WITH AGREEMENT, APPLICABLE LAWS, AND RULES OF CARRIER; QUARANTINE; INDEMNIFICATION: a. Compliance Obligation Generally. Passenger shall at all times comply with the provisions of this Agreement, all applicable laws, and rules, policies and regulations of the Carrier, the Vessel and the Transport (as the same may be changed from time to time with or without notice), and including Carrier’s COVID-19 Policies and Procedures set forth in Section 4 and on Carrier’s website at www.RoyalCaribbean.com. The wine allotment still states: Alcohol Policy Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines (vermouth, sherry, sake, and port wines) or nonalcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests may bring personal wine or champagne onboard only on embarkation day, limited to two (2) bottles (no boxes) of 750 mi per stateroom. Wine should be brought onboard via carry on if possible. Luggage containing wine or champagne will not be delivered to the stateroom and guests will need to retrieve their luggage from security once the ship has set sail. Only staterooms with at least one (1) guest over 21 years of age are eligible to bring bottles of wine or champagne onboard. Guests may request a corkscrew to use for opening bottles in their stateroom.
  12. Looking forward to the bread pudding. One of the only desserts that I actually enjoy. Just not a rich, sweets person but for some reason bread pudding speaks to me. 🙂
  13. Does anyone know if this is being enforced yet? We sail in 5 days and plan to bring on 2 bottles per cabin (wife and son in one, and myself in the connecting cabin), so a total of 4 bottles. I did print off our eDocs, i.e. the cruise contract, that still shows 2 bottles per stateroom not per person
  14. Call me crazy but I don’t eat breakfast at home but I particularly look forward to one buffet item on every cruise. Corn beef hash, especially with a runny yolk “sunny side up” egg or two.
  15. It depends on how many people you have. Our party of 7 was about $35 each way the last couple of times. Thanks @poocher Looks like $17 total one way for up to 4 passengers, $23 for 5 passengers, and $34 for 6-8
  16. Exactly what I was thinking. Atlantis has enjoyed very little competition for being at the busiest cruise port in the Caribbean. It's about time that there are more, good options while at Nassau. Still baffles me now few good excursions are at this stop. It's ripe for more "all inclusive" beach days, and private locations like what Royal is proposing here
  17. No I don't think so. The current sailing is skipping Port Canaveral altogether still. I think, even with the reduced propulsion speed, the ship is able to make the two day trip back to Bayonne on time. It's that first leg to Port Canaveral that is difficult with only one day of cruising (when speed needs to be reduced)
  18. I am on the 19th cruise but I have not received an email yet. We’ll see. Hoping for the letter as it works out better for us
  19. You’re right. I should have separated that into individual topics
  20. Cheers. Happy cruising. I don't want to come across like an ahole so I'll move on. The logical side of my brain struggles with some of these comments, but the fun emotional side says... who the heck cares. 🙂
  21. After about 5+ cruises you might finally be able to purchase a drink onboard with what you saved financially. The magnitude of the financial benefit is just so low, that's my point.
  22. Pay them ahead or onboard, doesn't matter to me one tiny bit. I agree that it limits you if you prepay. If something justifies their removal, your stuck. Understandable. However, what I do find interesting is that folks spend several $1000's on a cruise or multiple cruises and specifically say the rationale for not paying them early is the monetary value of not doing so. If you are paying them regardless, is a 3 month delay making or breaking you financially? Personally I wouldn't be booking cruises if it make a significant difference. I wouldn't cruise if my discretionary spending was that tight. Just me though. Until I have evidence that service doesn't justify the gratuities, I'll continue to pay them ahead. It's just not something I want to think about while on the cruise. So far, we are batting 1000% with good service. I have no reason to think it's going to be otherwise. (Now I probably just jinxed us🤪) @Ryder101, from the other tipping thread I know you remove gratuities right away once you board, so obviously this is a moot point for you. Prepaying obviously isn't in your modus operandi. It's a whole 'nother topic if you aren't going to pay gratuities anyway, or cancel them in lieu of giving them cash instead.
