  1. Except for some of the Alaskan cruises, they are as far as I know.
  2. I read so many comments about the bad experience using the App on the ship, but on the Enchanted we didn't have a single problem using it. Everything from ordering food, drinks, locating people and watching in room movies worked like a charm.
  3. Wearing a mask is no guarantee for getting Covid. I've just recently read on CC of quite a few people who masks during the whole cruise & still got it. Also not everyone has to have had their shots. All the other Princess ships bedsides the Alaskan ships have a mask optional protocol right now.
  4. Now that's funny in a twisted sort of way. 🤪
  5. I'm surprised it took this long for a major correction.
  6. That's exactly why I can't understand their new system is expected to work. How can it be possible to take reservations for a specific time when you'll never know what the available seating capacity will be at that specific time - No less promising a specific table and waiter. Some group dreamed up this idea at headquarters thinking it sounded good on paper and now the DR crew has to try and make it work. 😄 I know that at 5 PM my seat will be empty until I arrive.
  7. Since you were on one of the ships that doesn't have a flat wall mounted TV, it's much easier to reach the HDMI input. People who are on the newer ships might get a little frustrated trying to reach that plug, although it is possible with a little effort. Once the cable is plugged in it can stay there for the whole cruise.
  8. You've got to shop around. Sometimes is it better.
  9. We're at the age where we can make our own eat, drink & sleeping hours and not have to go by any schedule. Being able to have our main meal when we want is one of the benefits.😊 So I've heard but, On the Enchanted in March once aboard we had 5 PM reservations (using the App) and once aboard for 4 or 5 days we decided to switch DR's. We liked our waiter/assistant and just asked to have them every night- no problem. Of course this may have been because we eat at 5PM and the crowd isn't a major problem at that time. If you try doing the same at 6:30 PM I suspect you'll have a different experience.
  10. We often return to the DR before 21:00 for dessert/coffee. If that counts as late dining. 😆
  11. Oh, by 8 or 9 PM we'll have a return to the buffet to see if we missed out on anything. In general in our area people do eat much earlier and it's sort of a standing joke that people from Florida eat very early. I guess your not one of them.
  12. I just noticed you posting about the Caribbean Princess. Normally I don't read about that ship as we had a so-so experience on the CP a few years ago and wouldn't return since the newer ships like the Sky and Enchanted are so much improved in all aspects. Many of the problems you initially described I can agree with but the crew shortage problem is something new, although on the Enchanted in March/April we didn't experience any of this. Hopefully the crew shortage problem will end in the near future. In the mean time Princess is irritating and losing too many people to other cruise lines because of it. Once lost many will never return.
  13. Same waiter, head waiter, same table with our drinks waiting at our pre-chosen table for 2. The problem is for you being from the UK and wanting to eat at what I would call late seating is that we eat at 5 PM. At home we have our one large meal at 3 PM so at 5 PM we're ready to have our late evening meal. (we're from Florida. 😁 if that explains anything)
  14. Not to say those items aren't important but I get the same thing on every cruise without any extra cost.
  15. Just four more reasons to avoid Princess tours (besides being way over priced) 😄
  16. Can you find out exactly how Starbucks make it? The ship will do likewise providing they have the same ingredients.
  17. I just checked it this morning and they've applied my credit. It took about 1 month.
  18. Very nice compared to the Enchanted.
  19. We submitted one on May 14 & haven't heard anything yet. I think they've slowed down the whole process quite a bit lately. Could be because of increased cruising?
  20. There are to many other cruise lines/ships that don't require masks so we can enjoy ourselves without having to wear one all the time.
  21. It sounds logical but somehow I don't think they'll go along with your plan. This way knowing you'll probably just invite your friends anyway (selling another 2 dinners) and force you to return another night. Still, I would inquire once aboard the ship.
  22. Unfortunately what you say is true. When on a ship there's no place to really isolate yourself from the crowd. Putting on a mask is about the only protection you have in some instances but that's only for a brief amount of time. I just live my life as it comes and if I get Covid, I get it. At least it's not as bad as it once was when it first came out.
  23. It's been explained many times here on this board but here the last one I found. It seems complicated but really isn't once you've done it a few times. It works on all the ships, not only the Caribbean Princess. Oh btw, it reverts to the original input when the TV is shut off & turned back on.
  24. That's true. Saying that, the tables in the buffet even have more space between them compared to the DR. I dislike requesting a 2 top table, sitting down & having someone next to me feel it's necessary to start a conversation. Why bother to sit in that section anyway? 🙁
  25. There are a few that are more distant from each other.
