Sometimes the cabins are still being prepared but we always manage to at least drop off or luggage without disturbing the cabin stewards job and proceed to lunch.
If they took the time to enter each drink at the exact time of purchase, the service would have been slower than it was. Most of the bartenders only print a ticket for the drinks and enter them during a slow period.
I hope you are correct. It wouldn't be the first time that it was explained wrong to someone on the phone.
Eliminating that one reconnection wouldn't be saving them all that much money anyway.
Somehow I do believe that will be the next to go.

The setup isn't worth anything considering most people sail with Princess Plus.

Considering all the other cutbacks it isn't to surprising. It's sad being treated like that ....after dedicated passengers looking forward to one perk that was something special.
It's just another item that will attract us to the other cruise lines to enjoy something different for a change.
While you don't need a phone to use the Medallion it sure makes life a whole lot easier to be ably to order food, drinks and be able to find you partner on the ship.
We used it a lot on our last cruise and it worked perfectly without any of the problems that others seem to encounter.
All these figures can vary greatly depending on the time of year you choose to sail. We've sailed Princess when it looked like a nursing home at times, while choosing a cruise in the peak summer time will give you a completely difference experience.
Thankfully, all of the ships right now in the Caribbean don't require masks and with the virus diminishing each day I don't plan on mask wearing coming back anytime soon.
