Looking at the menu (which is incredible) I remembered that I don't like the food in Singapore. I just told DH that I guess we're there for 3 days before our cruise so that I can lose a couple of pounds before the cruise. I don't eat fish or very spicy food, and Singapore was a real problem. Otherwise, we loved it.

I'm following as usual. In March, I'm on the Solstice on a similar itinerary, but you knew that. Hmmm, I added that to my Sydney to Vancouver because it turned out flying to Sydney was so much more that it almost paid for the cruise. (Maybe you should consider that). Have a great trip. I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

In a way, you're comparing apples and oranges. Minisuite to minisuite (sky suite on X) Celebrity wins, due to the even diluted perks. Both would have showers over tubs. In balcony rooms, Celebrity's are a bit bigger, as they have a couch and Princess has a chair. Also, Celebrity bathrooms have drawers and shower doors, Princess has some shelves and shower curtains, even in mini suites. Between a Celebrity balcony and a Princess reserve minisuite, I'd go Princess.

Agree on dance floor (although the Royal ships on Princess are pretty much the same as S class on X). On specialty dining, I'd give Crown Grill a slight edge over Murano, as it has a wider menu. Of course it's also about 1/2 the price of Celebrity. (I'll let you know about Fine Cut once I'm on a ship with it and try it).

Your pictures are great! We're now 10.5 months from our trip and it's fun to read of others. Hope the trip is great. -

Menu looks good, except you're SOL if you don't like chocolate (other than boring friut). -
Hi all. I'm a regular Princess and Celebrity cruiser, and I booked a Crown Loft Suite on Symphony of the Seas for next month. I've been reading the Royal board, and I'm very confused about what we get with this particular suite - I know we don't get a genie, but what do we get and not get - ie what kind of lounge access, what drinks do we get (I know we get 4 vouchers for our Diamond Status via X, but do we get access to a lounge for that?), etc etc. Will I be contacted by anyone prior to sailing (we're about 3 and a half weeks out)? Any clarifications would be very much appreciated.

Sorry your first retreat day was such a miss. As far as Luminae goes, 20:05 is probably one of the more packed times. We usually go about 20:30-2:50 (in other words right before closing. That said, we've not yet been on an Edge class in Luminae, so we'll see. (next month). I really, really hope it gets better for you!!!

Semi live review Symphony Transatlantic

I'll be blogging both cruises. It's my first time on both ships, and my only experience on X's E class was a couple of days on the Edge when she was new. -
A friend of mine fell and hurt her leg. They did an Xray and said there was a greenstick fracture. (Her husband was convinced they'd put her in traction in the next port). It was Juneau the next morning, and the xray there (and at home after the cruise) said sprained knee. We called him chicken little for a while after that. But the ship did get it wrong.

Of course. That's why I figured they could maybe do it.

On a previous cruise, I asked about Greek food, since the officers are Greek. A few days later, they made a Greek meal for us. This was in Luminae.

Will be on the Silhouette from November 6 til 16th

Glad Luminae is good for you. We did last years TA and loved it. I could eat nothing but the white chocolate mousse for 14 days and still be happy. -
Semi live review Symphony Transatlantic

I'm following. We're on Symphony for 6 days in December - it will be our first (and maybe only - we'll see - keeping an open mind) RC cruise. We're on the Celebrity Apex right afterward, and so I booked the RC one to not fly across the country for one 7 day cruise. I kind of figured if I'm going to try Royal, I might as well go on a really big ship. (We sail X and Princess) -
Exactly. Back in the day, that was all there was. Now it's a longstanding joke.

We're on the Northern Loop next October. Moved from last month to 2025 then back to 2024. So I'm excited to read this. We're doing the Peru extension. -
I was on Princess one xmas with a table for 10, and 3 of the 5 sets had one or two Jewish people. We jokingly asked the waiter if tonights dinner had Chinese food. He was so confused.
