Question about waiting to purchase Princess Plus onboard
palolake posted a topic in Princess Cruises
We are debating on waiting to purchase Princess Plus to when we get onboard. Our trip insurance would be less if we did that. I know that you can do that but I'm wondering 1) If it will include drinks, wifi and tips just like precruise and 2) will it cost the exact same amount. I haven't been able to get a response from anyone who has actually done it. Not just a guess. TIA -
Thank you everyone!

We're flying in for a cruise in San Pedro. I'm wondering if it would be better all around to fly into John Wayne airport vs. LAX. The hotels around seem much cheaper and maybe it would be easier after the cruise to get to SNA vs LAX. Can anyone tell me? And any recomendations on hotels around SNA or even midway to the port from SNA. TIA

Someone on another post said that, if you wait to purchase onboard, it only included beverages and not the wifi and gratuities. Has anyone waited to purchase and did it included all three?

Military and shareholders OBC no longer combinable soon.
palolake replied to HaveDogWillTravel's topic in Princess Cruises
If you're going to have your choice of using Military or Shareholder benefit, I wonder if you'll have to start applying for military. Instead of it automatically showing up like it does now. -
We have the new Princess plus but it kept saying that they were going to charge us $10 to ship the medallion. I just left it there and waited. I went on there today and the shipping charge was gone. I ordered the medallions and got an email saying they were shipping, and that there was no charge.

Using OBC before you sail to purchase.
palolake replied to BCCRUSINGCOUPLE's topic in Princess Cruises
Excursions are the only thing you can book before boarding and use OBC. Not specialty dining, spa services, etc. -
We kept waiting for a refund and finally found out that your TA has to request the refund. It's ridiculous the number of refunds that have to be requested by your TA and no one tells you that.

We’re thinking of booking a cruise on the Majestic. We’ve never been on her but we have been on other royal class ships. I know it’s a little different than the other ships with a covered pool and the noodles restaurant. Does that ship have bidets like the Diamond? What are your thoughts?

Our latest favorite cruise cabin purchase
palolake replied to We_like_to_cruise's topic in Princess Cruises
What a great idea for a post! Unfortunately all people could do was complain about motion lights on the ship. Let's have some more ideas! -
That's what mine shows purchased under the old price. But it also says it includes the juice bar. But does it?

We were on one a few years ago. We were very inconvenienced. They shut down Take 5 more nights than it was open. We've been on a few cruises that had special groups on it and this group was the worst. Only because of shutting down Take 5.

I was told 72 hours last week.

On Good Friday we called Princess to place a courtesy hold on a cabin until our TA was in the office. Actually we tried to do it first with the online chat and gave up! She said she placed the hold. Then we received an email saying she used our FCDs for the deposit. Turns out she actually booked the cruise and not just a courtesy hold. It turned out ok but those people just don't know what they are doing now. And yes I'm positive she actually booked the cruise.

I’m getting ready to purchase some trip insurance and I’m wondering if I have to figure in the cost of our FCCs and FCDs? Do you lose those if you cancel your trip?

Stock Holder's Benefit - Faster processing via Fax or Email?
palolake replied to sirclean's topic in Princess Cruises
What's the email address? We have always faxed. Maybe we're using an old form but it's not listed there. -
Now that people realize that Alfredos is free, it's usually less busy in the dining room.

COVID vaccine status pre-boarding - not enhanced cruises
palolake replied to etansy's topic in Princess Cruises
We've been on 3 Princess cruises since August. I did the Princess chat before the August cruise and was told I needed our vaccination cards. We didn't. We haven't had to show them to get on any ship. And that included a 20 day in November that was originally an "enhanced" voyage. Then in January, it was in the Patter that we should take our drivers license and our vaccination cards ashore on a southern Caribbean cruise! And I didn't read anything about it pre cruise. We have a picture of all of our Covid shots on our phone. I would hope that would work if needed. -
This happens on almost all of our booked flights. The last two cruises, the flights they switched us to were just unacceptable. Both times we found cheaper and better flights on the airline websites. We called Princess to ask why they wouldn't have booked us on those flights. They told us those flights weren't available through EZ air and wouldn't change us. We tried the airlines but knew in advance that it wouldn't work. Both times we ended up paying more and booking with the airline who WILL switch you for free if it's enough of a change. So now we'll book with EZair and just keep checking the airlines and probably switch over to them when the cruise is getting closer.

Getting off Sky & boarding Enchanted same day Port Everglades
palolake replied to seastheday's topic in Princess Cruises
A few years ago we took a taxi from pier 2 to a HAL ship. There is something right on the window of the taxi saying what the fee is to do that and he wanted to charge us more. We refused and paid the correct amount. We would have given a tip that would have probably been more than what he asked for but didn't like that he was trying to cheat us. -
Princess still serving flourless chocolate cake?
palolake replied to bluetardis's topic in Princess Cruises
It's not the same and not as good as it was. Sadly, that's how it is with some of the other deserts like the Love Boat desert. -

Of course every cruise will be different, but two days ago, we watched new cruisers allowed in at 9:30. -
Bimmer09 Christmas Cruise to Mexico on the Diamond
palolake replied to Bimmer09's topic in Princess Cruises
We had the International Crew Talent show on the cruise before you. Maybe because ours was a 20 day cruise? Our cabin steward Julius was amazing! -
No more French night, Italian night, etc. if that's what you're wondering.
