  1. So sad to read this. I hope that the comments in this thread give you some solace at this difficult time. My condolences to you and all of Don's family and friends.
  2. On the 5/19 sailing, her name was Joanna. She was very... new. I'll just leave it at that.
  3. I wonder how United can read the result without knowing the document's password?
  4. But it doesn't prove that you haven't tampered with the test in the meantime. Just because you have gotten away with it multiple times does not mean it's advisable.
  5. How about 2-3 hours on a domestic flight? Is that any safer? Where do you draw the line?
  6. Just follow the steps in my post that you quoted. It’s instant and much easier than matching X or Royal to MGM each year.
  7. bananavan has also posted about her experience in this thread to contrast yours. No need to send people away for responding appropriately
  8. I tipped additional cash to my specialty restaurant server knowing full well that they were already sharing in the ship wide gratuity pool. So again, really no difference to me. It was technically double dipping before and still is. Now I just won't pay cash anymore.
  9. Check Celebrity's website for country specific testing requirements. https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/europe-travel-requirements
  10. I'm curious if you had the chance to make the decision again, would you make the same choice to stay aboard?
  11. No doubt that Celebrity is maximizing revenue with MoveUp bids. But what I was referring to above was looking at bookings far in the future, well before MoveUp bids. Suites appear to be the first cabin class to go. It wasn't like that before the restart. The only other thing I can think of is people using FCCs from multiple cruises and just booking Retreat class on fewer dates.
  12. Not everyone is like us. Most people just book vacations and go. They don't spend time here on CC researching the ramifications of their decision. Since the restart, I've consistently seen sold out Retreat class on otherwise empty ships. I can't think of any other reason for that besides those not in-the-know paying up for better isolation quarters just in case.
  13. They've had more than enough time to figure it out. At this point, I don't think they want to. Keeping isolation protocols miserable for guests is incentivizing fewer visits to medical for testing. Less testing = fewer confirmed positives.
  14. I agree with this 100%. And if you ask Miami a question they would rather not answer, they'll say it depends on the Captain's discretion. Therein lies your black hole of information.
  15. My guess is Celebrity is testing as few passengers as possible at this point. If someone in your traveling party is positive, you'll likely be tested. Beyond that, it's less likely.
  16. January was an eternity ago as relates to the devolution of on-board covid protocols.
  17. These are unique to Edge class. I certainly don't extrapolate a policy change based on anything I've read in this thread.
  18. I've developed a huge dislike for people who are judgmental and closed-minded.
  19. Strong chance that Celebrity will alter the itinerary to avoid the need to test passengers on board.
  20. From what I’ve read, this ruling is not binding. EU countries are free to set their own mandates/policies though most are expected to fall in line.
  21. Requests are not demands.
