  1. We will be sailing on the "connie" again this fall and have been fortunate to have seeker chardonnay as a mainstay in the bars. It is a very nice pour and in the $10-$15 a bottle retail price it is a great buy. hoping celebrity has not done away with it as their entry level chard and hope that recent celebrity passengers could let us know if it is still available. thanks much
  2. whats that about a fool being born------------------
  3. we have found that 6:45 reservations work(booked ahead of time on the rccl app that she keeps on her phone), without a wait most nights. only problem nights are the first night and what used to be lobster night if they still will do it in the future...
  4. chops has amazing filets, medium rare, the goat cheese salad is superb....food in md room has dropped off just like everyone is saying and i dont look for any improvement any time soon...We love this ship as we are close to the tampa terminal, but sailing on her during the summer is a mistake..four and five day cruises are a mess..
  5. so i am guessing that our friend jeff ruby has nothing to worry about in the way of competition from rccl.
  6. true story of why not to wear expensive jewelry when going to the beach...We had a friend that was a flight attendant years ago and she went to party at a very famous bar in jamaica one night. She went to use the rest room and when she exited a man with a large knife explained to her that the ring she was wearing was coming off even if he had to cut the finger off to get it. It was a two carat diamond solitaire and very high end quality.....Needless to say she gave up the ring and the case was never solved nor did she get the ring back.....proof that you have to be vigilant all of the time when traveling and wearing high end jewelry when off of the ship is just foolish, you make yourself an easy target..i have a friend that owns a couple of jewelry stores in the caribbean and he too advises clients to not wear the high end stuff until you get back to the ship...just sayin'
  7. saw it on the connie the last time we sailed on her, but i think that the "seeker" brand chardonnay helped magnify the image....life is good
  8. we take a hard sided 12 can cooler with us and have it filled up with ice every morning. That works all day long for assorted adult beverages. As far as cleanliness, we are neat freaks and once a day is fine..life is good.
  9. we have enjoyed sailing on this ship several times out of tampa and have found that their specialty restaurant called "chops" has the best filet mignon we have ever been blessed to eat..Main dining room, just ok, but chops is worth the $ especially if you can book a package deal for at least three night. just sayin'....B&B in clearwater.
  10. I have often wondered why they cannot honor the elite benefit on the first night of the cruise by doing the 5-7 happy hour in the lounges...just a thought...Surely they have the necessary info from the sail pass in their bar computer system by then, as the passenger has been onboard for hours prior...Hope it is not another cost cutting thing.
  11. that is the way it is, for those of us that have been trained in the travel industry .we were always taught to advise "location picky" customers to avoid guaranteed cabins like the plague....do your homework and you can get just as good a deal by buying at the right time from the right vendor and get a cabin that you can be comfortable in. When spending what cruises cost today, why not be happy with your cabin and it's location....just sayin'
  12. my wife and i booked a 12 day celebrity cruise using the cruise only plan and the cost was $3300 total including charges and fees for a mid-ship balcony cabin..The rack price on the same cruise is now $5300 for the AI plan. In addition the company and the TA gave us $850 obc on top of the great price...With our elite status, two hour happy hour and the other perks i don't think that it took a genius to do what we did..We dont need to drink all day and night, dont use the wifi at all and the obc will pay for the grats and still leave us with over $400 to use at our discretion....Just takes a little bit of homework to decide what is best for each individual....life is good, enjoy whatever you book....clearwater
  13. blame the "entitled" parents for letting the little b------ do as they please, dress as they please and make life miserable for those of us that try to avoid all cruises that cater to families with kids.
  14. glad to say that brian culbertson was just here in town and this sat we will get to see dave koz, eric darius and candy dulfer right here on land in lovely clearwater.....The $50 tickets sure do beat the smooth jazz cruise rates...life is good
  15. we sailed twice on the serenade recently and the only thing that i bet on was that alot of nice folks would loose $ in the casino and get to breathe some lovely cigarette smoke while they were doing it.
  16. ozona blue, lucky lobster , draught haus, bon appetite, any of those places that you guys go besides the pool deck on a cruise?????????
  17. no, the first initials of our names......we live near mease hospital off of new york.....We love to cruise and thought it would be cool to catch up with you guys.....
  18. my wife and i got a chuckle out of you "entertaniment just not our thing" post...I told her that you guys much be steelers fans....next time the steelers play the bengals on tv, the first drink at eddies is on us..........B&B in dunedin....wish you well.
  19. my wife and i dress nicely for dinner in the mdr or specialty venues every night...No tux or formalgowns, but nice dress clothes...For us it is a matter of respect for not only us, but also our fellow passengers..My parents taught us that your appearance means alot and we are not a part of the narcistic segment of our current population...
  20. burgers on rccl and celebrity are inedible....but then who goes on a cruise to eat burgers??????
