  1. we found the medium rare 9oz. filet on the serenade to be the best steak that we have been blessed to eat onboard a ship in our 35 years of cruising.. We also loved the goat cheese salad..I stopped after dinner and thanked the young lady that does the steaks and she was pleased...We dont eat much italian food on ships as we prepare our own at home...As far as the sushi we use that for bait to catch fish that can consumed after cooking..life is good
  2. thanks for the review, makes us think seriously about cancelling our upcoming cruise on the radiance..
  3. whole choice beef tenderloin currently wholesale here in our area of florida is $18 a lb and that is untrimmed....Now you understand why their menus are full of sirloin, flank, and other cheap cuts of meat.....I dont see any improvements in the near future...Thankful that we eat better than the mdr celeb menu every night at home...and thanks to my chef mother that taught me how to cook..life is good
  4. only top quality filet mignon that we have gotten in the last year was in the chops restaurant on rccl...It was the best tenderloin(9 oz cut) that we have ever eaten and we were in the business...Quality in the tuscan on celebrity was not near as good and we had to send back the two apps in that restaurant..Celebrity food is not as good as rccl now, breaks my heart to say that, but it is the truth.
  5. you have to hope that it is on espn, if not, we are out of luck....and hope that everyone's favorite game cricket is not on...
  6. most of the big blue b-ball games are on espn, so no need to get wifi on the ship, we dont go on cruises to watch tv....
  7. difference between tilapia and carp-----none- bottom feeders
  8. forgive me for getting off of the op's topic, but if i had to put up with patrick M's wife and brother and taylor swift, i would stay home too....
  9. only if you have advanced arthur murray training under your belt....best people watching in the world in these lounges.
  10. johnny carson had a well known entertainer on his show one night and the entertainer said that he lived to eat and Carson replied that he ate to live.....many of the people that we have met in our 50+ cruises would not know great food if it hit them in the head thus the popularity of mcdonalds and burger king.....long live the foodies!
  11. just wish that they would offer soup beans, corn bread, cole slaw, and a slice of onion with a cold pbr........go big blue
  12. recent exception to this trend was jalien valentine that we saw onstage in 2022 on the "connie"....Magnificent entertainer from vegas...long standing ovation that was well deserved...She had worked all over the country and 18 years at the top resorts like the bellagio in vegas....just wish they would book acts that that more often .Back in the day they would book top comics like John Pinette for two days at a time....After his shows your jaws would hurt from laughing so much...Now most of the comics put us to sleep and we like others get a back seat in back so that we can leave early and not bother anyone of our fellow passengers...just sayin'
  13. difference between TA, trivia, and watching latex paint dry-none....
  14. we are back on "connie" this fall for 12 days and after sailing on her several times hope for another nice cruise. Does she need a refurbishment--yes but i cant see celebrity spending the $ to do it..The ship is popular and for those of us that live near the tampa port, it is sure alot easier than getting on a plane for any other cruise..With the price increases we might not be able to do too many more cruises with this company, but with our elite benefits and booking the NON AI plan we can better afford sailings with them We have no use for wi-fi and with the the huge amounts of obc that we get, it pays for grats and a few shore excursions and several trips to the tuscan grill....We go into the cruise with an open mind and will enjoy it......we are just blessed to be able to cruise at all. wish everyone well...clearwater.
  15. i was blessed to have a father that opened for mr. sinatra back in the day and i hope that i kinda know good music when i hear it...that said, we have seen some good entertainment over the years on cruise ships,,, back in the day, the drifters, the platters, the coasters, charo, and the list went on...Now days the acrobats, hatchet throwers and second rate magicians are taking up way to much time in the theaters....we like the groups that they have in the lounges on rccl and celebrity and some of the production shows, but we only sail on the older ships and not the "disney-land" monster ships with 5 or 6 thousand of our closest friends....the whole thing is subjective but with the cutbacks by the companies, you know that the amount that they spend on entertainment has also suffered...just have to make the best of it. We could have to sail hal who has dropped live musicians in their production shows to save $.......we are just blessed to be able to cruise period and make the best of it....just sayin'
  16. celebrity just announced that as of oct 4, 2023 that their AI plan will not longer include prepaid gratuities....just keeps getting better with them, less for more....nice plan if you can get away with it....now if they could put a jeff ruby restaurant onboard life would improve.
  17. we have four cruises currently booked, two on celebrity and two on rccl...On all four we have mid-ship balcony cabins..the average fee per day for the cabin including port charges etc. was $307 for celebrity and $277 for rccl so at least for us celebrity is more expensive..Not sure that it is currently any better than rccl based on recent cuts, but we are savvy shoppers and know when and how to get bargains on cruises..still cheaper than all inclusive land based vacas...wish everyone well. just sayin'
  18. when i was attending travel school the director strongly advised us to advice caribbean cruise clients to only cruise in aug, sept, and oct if they had no other options..I guess she was spot on and my neighbors here in florida for the most part have learned that lesson...just sayin,' wish everyone well.
  19. highlight shore excursion in san juan------walgreens.
  20. selling overpriced cruises to first time cruisers is way too easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. thanks to those that responded...good to hear that this nice pour is still available.
