I’m having a hard time believing the labour shortage. On my last cruise I had zero problems getting any time I wanted at any specialty restaurants. If there was no staff I would have thought a reservation wouldn’t be possible.
Yup me too. If we were docked it would be a different story but I still wouldn’t buy the playhouse. Thanks for providing pricing from other lines. It’s eye opening.
I've said it a ton of times, the seafood soup, veggie risotto and osso bucco are delicious. 2 of those items are gone. I just wish they would stop getting rid of good dishes for mediocre. Same goes for the tamarind. I've never been to Italy and my heritage is not Italian and I don't expect Canaletto to deliver on either one of those
I don’t ever remember the beach villas being the cheap. Was that on carnival? I remember them being $7 to $8 hundred. They are selling the playhouses for $699. I wouldn’t pay $100 for one. The villa is actually quite nice in comparison.
Because you are already paying for a meal. I don’t usually sleep in the grocery store so the comparison baffles me. I don’t get free cruises so I pay dearly for mine. If they can’t makes a very good profit on what I pay they should stop sailing. On my last cruise there was plenty of availability in all the specialty restaurants so that’s telling me that people aren’t willing to pay those prices. This is coming from someone that eats primarily in specialty restaurants.
The only time I’ve heard of those prices was on the transatlantic. I don’t imagine it hurt them to much because a number of people probably have drink packages.
I would be shocked if anything compared to the food on land unless you are going to McDonald’s 🤪. That said it’s probably quite a bit cheaper. Probably McDonald’s would easily beat dive in.
I'm interested in this cruise but you just seem so upset with everything. It just doesn't seem like your cup of tea. I constantly hear digs at "old people". If people are lucky they'll live as long as I have.
I rarely eat the pasta. It means nothing to me if it's fresh or not. I don't think you can really judge a restaurant on one visit with items I would not pick. Sometimes when I see what people suggest is so good, I'm wondering what they eat. That said, I'm not expecting someone's Italian grandmother to be making my meal.
Wow, just wow. I'm getting up there but I don't like it warm. Why say something like this? You really didn't seem to like anything about this cruise. I hope you find something that is more to your liking.
Is that even possible? I think Sabatini's is quite nice on Princess (haven't done it for several years) but I don't know that I'd call that authentic. I don't want to pay $100 for the experience. I found the risotto, seafood soup and osso bucco to be very good in the Canaletto. I've been disappointed with most other things.
I agree it’s (not bidding for upsells) fine the way it is. I don’t know why every cruise line needs to do things exactly the same. If things work better on another cruise line for someone, maybe that’s the route that should be followed.
