It makes me wonder what the problem is. I’ve been on the ship for almost 2 weeks. Same thing happened last week except there was no notice, just a nasty surprise in the middle of the night. There is no way that it is because someone flushed something they shouldn’t. This is super annoying.

Thank you. I spoke to the front desk on another matter tonight. I said to him by the way I’m supposed to get the choice of those restaurants and he said absolutely you are. He asked me who told you you couldn’t. I couldn’t remember her name and you could tell he was annoyed. I said to him now you know why I’m frustrated. This earlier person argued and argued with me. It wasn’t like she said I’m not sure let me ask 🙄.

That is the thing. For me it's a much needed break from reality. If I'm stressed about things daily or fighting with the brilliant front desk daily it's completely frustrating, then I get to go back to work immediately. If I have all the time to decompress it's a little different.

I have no plans to book another hal cruise for at least a year, maybe longer. I'm reluctant to mention to much because people will dismiss it as nothing. Is it the end of the world, no Today's fun 1) for the second time in two weeks the water to the ship is being turned off from midnight to 4. At least we got notified this time. Last week it was a surprise. 2) I had about $200 obc non refundable at the end of last week. I was told use it or lose it by 2 people, one said it will roll over. I said I'd like that in writing. Nope. So I spent it. I've met some peeps in my cabana. They got told no problem, there non refundable will role. 3) I had a 5 star dinner to use last night. I went to canaletto and told them. No problem. I got charged so I complained thru the app. Nope that's only for the pinnacle. That's wrong

I've been very vocal about showing up at the requested time. I'm a rule follower. What was exceptionally funny was a person that said she show up whenever she feltl like it. This same person called me self absorbed. Clearly a dictionary was in order.

Hank in Florida you just show up whenever according to several posters on this board. Boarding times are mentioned just for giggles.

The gym is open from 6 am to 9pm on the koningsdam anyway

It has not been open on the koningsdam either in November 2021, mar 2022 or November 2022. I have physically checked except on the November 19 cruise bug ygerr was no indication that it was open.

Maybe. I haven't had huge problems with it except having to pay for it immediately to get the upgrade. If you are fine waiting that's totally up to you. I think the poster was just trying to help.

That's good. I'm not interested in sharing tables unless it's with people that I've met organically. I've done that in the past and those days are over for me.

I've only been asked if I wanted to share a table once. That might have been in March. It's very, very busy on the koningsdam at night this cruise.

Hal.makes it difficult to do reviews. You could try finding a review on you tube or that famous review website we are not allowed to name.

Hal is not quick to update systems. I had mine ready to roll for my Nov 12 embarkation at ssn Diego. There is no line for it.

Yup, it's much appreciated. They never did notify us after sending out the notice at the start of the cruise. Some of us were lucky enough to hear it through the grapevine. Communication is lacking.

It amazes me that someone that complained about everything on their cruise from food to entertainment to cabanas taking up his personal space that believes hal should just through hoops to entice him to become a permanent customer.

It's to bad Seattle is so rigid on this. I guess it has to be free of anything that might offend. I can see how this can become tiresome.

I want to say mine was about 2 weeks out. Amazingly it never changed. I found when they used to assign it earlier it changed so many times. If you are and 4 or 5 star Mariner apparently you can show whenever the mood strikes in San Diego.

Of course it does. Hal has a certain playlist approved by Seattle. They don’t play what they feel like.

And yet you are constantly throwing shade. Clearly that’s ok. When someone throws out what i feel is old information I’m going to correct it as I see it. The cabana I booked is one example. But how old is that data? Is there any new data since the start up? I often see people say when I last cruised before Covid xxxx. Well xxxx is probably not relevant any more. There appears to be a lot of new cruisers on this sailing. The shops have not been packed, I’ve yet to see a single person in the photo gallery and the pay extra restaurants have not been as booked up this week as they were last week. I eat almost exclusively in them and I see 90 percent older clientele in them. While this doesn’t tell the entire story I think it’s telling. At least more telling then someone telling what cruising when they were last on a ship 5 years ago.
