  1. The ship's internal wifi connectivity depends on where you are on the ship. Sitting directly under a router is FAR better than being in your steel box (cabin) with no unimpeded path to a hallway router.
  2. Probably a corporate charter for Regent/Apollo employees and/or Travel Agents to showcase the new dining option and recent drydocks changes.
  3. Cute but the fact is that a guest flushed something last year that set off a chain of events on the Mariner's older system. It is slated to be addressed during drydock.
  4. I have been told about it repeatedly by employees and staff. I do not know if they will discuss it if you call as a guest but they should. There is also a huge block of time with no cruises that coincides with the dates I have been given...November 4 to November 25.
  5. The toilet issue was temporary in nature and was caused by a guest flushing something that should not have been flushed. It was fixed. I would not hesitate to sail on any Regent ship. I prefer the older ships as I am more into comfort than fancy but that's just me.
  6. That would be nice but they are down-sizing the department to cut costs. Hopefully, it will be a priority in the future.
  7. You are comparing apples to oranges. Your out of pocket costs for air is relevant. Why Regent added a land package is not.
  8. Important to note that not all cruises cost Regent the same to run. Historically, they can see which cruises sell well and which don't. Some cruises are run to get to and from more desirable areas - like transatlantic cruises without the transatlantic part. Regent has all this data and tries to get top dollar for all cruises and adds incentives as needed to sell all the cabins.
  9. I've booked about 5000 nights and I suggest you ALWAYS deviate - even if you don't get the fee waived. Find the flights you want and have your TA ask the Air Desk for quotes on them. If the price is close to what you can buy them for yourself, let Regent book them as then Regent will advocate on your behalf in the event of a problem. I always include optional flights 2+ days before/after the cruise as those tend to be cheaper from Regent.
  10. Agreed - some are included. I am saying that some pre and post land packages were at a charge....and some were included with the price of the cruise (as you are saying). Regent offers them to induce sales of particular cruises....but cruises in high demand usually have them as a charge.
  11. They are usually available but not usually free.
  12. The high demand cruises are expensive...the low demand ones are not. There is actually a lot of demand for cruising right now - Regent's marketing plan is working out very well for them.
  13. They will if the same economic factors collapse the economy. This is exactly what happened when COVID collapsed the stock market. The cruises lines couldn't sail - then they could sail at greatly reduced fares...then the market came roaring back and fares increased.
  14. And that one is per person or for both?
  15. $71K for 2 people for 33 nights without air in a G2?
  16. Think about that for a minute. If it was the same price from everywhere, that means people near major hubs (cheaper flights) were paying more than their fair share to subsidize those further from major hubs (more expensive flights). Another reason why Regent might want to get away from one-price bundled airfare in this crazy market.
  17. Occupancy based on 2 per suite...most cruise lines are over 100% Boom times for cruising...the cruise fares are fairmy stable...it is the air that is killing us.
  18. Regent currently running just over 100% occupancy...
  19. Many good things coming - as I have posted elsewhere, I spend most of my dollars with Regent because they are, IMO, the best choice.
  20. Because "someone" got written approval to post it.....and then it was decided that it wasn't meant to be posted until July 17. No foul play - just incomplete communication.
  21. "I didn't see them" is not a valid excuse for plowing forward at 22 knots?
  22. That isn't what I said...you should be careful with the quotes when you are making things up. Regent has very small increases. The airlines have very large increases. The underlying cause to these increases is the same thing that has boosted your assets by a far greater amount. I am suggesting perspective. Someone stuck a blender into our economy - cruise prices are up, but your assets are up 10x more. Sounds like a win to me...keep it coming.
  23. And this is exactly why Regent wants to decouple their pricing from the cost of the air.....so every guest can see who is increasing prices by 68% vs. 6%.
