  1. That's me too! But more glasses of wine with dinner for sure.
  2. Nice to think I'm "above average" in something for a change! Even on port days I can easily drink a few bottles of Peroni, a pre dinner drink and glasses of wine over dinner. It's thirsty work too dancing the night away!
  3. Totally agree. We always wait until we board. Even on nights that are supposedly booked up, we get a table on the night. With the Med' cruises being so port intensive I guess passengers cancel because they are knackered by the evening and just do to the buffet.
  4. We've been on Millennium, Solstice and Edge class ships and would say the Solstice ones have the same vibe as Royal class ships. Entertainment is better I think on Princess. There just seems to be more going on. I miss Morano's however as Sabatini's isn't as good. MUTS is great, but Celebrity have TV screens too. Just not as big! Like many have said, you will not be disappointed with the switch to Princess.
  5. Tried booking Deck 6 for a shared table in August but the only option is private. We want to be on a table of 8. Why can't your OBC be applied to speciality restaurant bookings?
  6. I can do pretty easy on port days too! 😂🍺🍷🥂
  7. I'll drink red or white wine from the Plus offerings and just stick to the ones that I like the most. The only time I'll upgrade is for real champagne and pay the difference. The pour sizes are no big deal. I'll just return to the bar more often and kid myself it's good exercise! When I get close to my 15 drink limit, I have the wife's allowance in reserve!😂
  8. No one has ever had to conform. The dress codes have always been suggested IMHO. As my wife loves to dress up I always complement her attire by wearing a tux/dinner jacket on the "formal nights". As I've said before. I don't give a monkey's what other choose to wear regardless of the suggested dress code. I've never worn shorts in any restaurant around the world and as people rightly state. Wear what you feel comfortable in. I feel most comfortable when I've made an effort to look smart, and I get serious "brownie" points from my wife as a result!😇
  9. Sorry, but this news has been discussed "ad nauseam" on here!
  10. According to the Sun Princess webcam today, the ship is bound for Santorini 👍😂
  11. No flames from me. Well done for stating that fact 👍
  12. We were surprised to find in our standard balcony stateroom on embarkation a wheelchair! We fortunately don't require one, but it was easily pushed back out for the steward to take away.
  13. Me too! Just hoping my Sun cruise on 10 August stops at Kotor and Santorini, but if its not meant to be I’ll just max out my Plus package on Peroni’s and red wine! Aim to do traditional dining around 8 pm each night on a table of 8 and hopefully enjoy everyone’s company. Will go to Sabatini’s and the new Asian themed restaurant (can’t recall the name) and be thankful I’m not sitting at my office desk for 14 nights whilst aboard.
  14. I’m guessing you are a “glass half empty” type of guy/girl/non-binary!
  15. Well blow me down with a feather! That is amazing.😉
  16. Obviously a downside to having the medallions posted instead of waiting a few seconds longer to get them at embarkation 😂
  17. Come on! It’s not that steep and there are many resting places to take in the views and sideline the donkey packs. Ok, there is some urine and poop but you are not wading in the stuff! Just don’t wear your newest footwear. The 588 steps are more pleasant than standing in a 90 minute line for the cable car.
  18. Mykonos is sometimes a tender port. The only times it wasn't were when I was aboard a Celebrity ship!
  19. Thanks @Sox Fan Cruiserfor confirming your stop at Santorini. I remember seeing from the land based webcam that it was particularly windy that day. As for the tendering process. In all the years I have visited Santorini (either with Princess or Celebrity) we have never been on the ship's own tenders. The Islanders provide them and they are more than adequate to transport passengers back and forth without too much delay for sometimes up to 4 ships at anchor! The tenders also always took us to the dock nearest the cable car and entrance to the 588 steps up! I am hopeful our Sun visit on 13 August will go ahead as the other three ships in that day are arriving and leaving at different times which will ease the pressure on the cable cars, but the passenger count will be 12,000 in total!
  20. The Sun has definitely tendered in Santorini. Can't remember if it was in March or earlier this month though!
  21. But you will miss the sail in/out which I really enjoyed every time I've visited Kotor. We are due to sail in on 19th August. We also have Santorini on our itinerary for the 13th. Losing those two ports would be really disappointing despite having been to both many times!
  22. Here in the UK we have no choice but to collect the medallions at embarkation. The time taken is no different from when we all had to collect our cruse cards, so I just don't understand why so many people get needlessly stressed about having them posted out prior to the cruise. Sorry if I sound unsympathetic, but the time you spent on the phone was just pointless.
