LIVE ALASKA NCL BLISS 04-22-2023 to 04-29-2023 Review

Ha! I had a prior commitment too. But alas, I have officially touched down in Miami. Ready to get this party started. Wishing safe and speedy travels to you @ -
T-24 hours to go...Bags are packed, checked in with AA. Upgrade Advantage offer still shows "pending". Inventory has appeared to be fluctuating the last few days with balconies and ocean view cabins showing up intermittently only to go away quickly. This is a very full sailing so not much hope for an upgrade.

Same. 🙂 -
Points will only get you to a balcony at the most. So on the ship you can either book an Inside or Oceanview (check your prices - sometimes there is not much difference) and then use your points to move to balcony. Inside to OV or OV to Balcony is 30K. Inside to Balcony is 60K. Once you have your balcony cabin assignment the Upgrade Advantage program kicks in and you should have the opportunity to BID on Haven, but that is no guarantee you will get it - also no guarantee how much you may have to bid. Also assume you use either NCL or a Travel Agent that participates in the program. I believe it is possible to PAY for an upgrade with NCL directly once you have the balcony cabin, but I have reached the end of my knowledge/experience and hopefully someone will come along that can provide some insight on that angle. I think @mscdivina2016 might have some experience with this, but I can't remember all the details. Good Luck!

I am truly jealous if you can get away with that for 15 days 😉 -
Actual medications - original containers. Supplements go in a pill organizer.

How much actual cash would you suggest bringing?

I tipped the Casino drink attendant $20 day 1 on my 9 day cruise and he would come find me if I wasn't playing my usual machine - I never went thirsty and neither did my travel companion and she didn't even have the drink package! Yeah, tipping helps. It didn't occur to me to go to the "source". I will see what happens next week. Bourbon is my favorite - thanks for the tip -

I am really looking forward to the cruise and I appreciate you taking the time to put these activities together. -
Alright, it's T - 8 days, I'm about 1/3 of the way through "The Path Between the Seas". I have learned that the Sun does not have a Thermal Suite (I kept hoping to see pricing). Looks like the spa area is just for actual spa services. I do see both sauna and steam rooms so all is not lost. I guess that means I can go ahead and splurge for unlimited internet! I have not started packing just yet - probably Wednesday; and I am toying with the Starbucks package. I am not a fan of that god-awful burnt tasting coffee, but their mixed concoctions are pretty good. No word yet on my Upgrade Advantage bid - not expecting to hear anything until Monday, maybe even Tuesday. 🤞 Nothing in writing, but many first hand accounts of "free bag of laundry" every 7ish days for Platinum and above, so I am hoping to squeeze everything into my regular roller board that does not require being checked instead of my big Bubba which will definitely hold everything and will also definitely have to be checked. According to my roll call probability is high for cancelled port(s) as the State Department has upped the threat level for Americans travelling in a few of the South American countries on the itinerary. This was actually one of my reasons for going with NCL only excursions. I've got my Consumer Cellular SIM card activated. This was the first trip I was going to pre-book my Lyft ride to the airport. They want $27 to pre-book. Typical rate is between $15-$20 when requesting same day. Not a huge discrepancy, but I'd rather tip heavy than pay more for a scheduled ride. I use both Lyft and Uber so I'm sure it won't be an issue since the airport is less than 5 miles from my house.

Yikes! That is very late. Any info on what the delay might be?
