  1. Photos from St. Thomas and food porn of that day. Looks like a Rudi's pop up and dinner on our NS balcony for sail away from St. Thomas. It is a fun port to sail into with so much to see.
  2. Good morning. I won't try any bad poetry, Helium is an essential element and too much is wasted, my neighbor had some serendipity yesterday when she went to town for a severe splinter treatment and won $550 on scratch off lottery tickets. A sad anniversary for GB with the loss of so many planes in early WWII. An excellent quote by Harper Lee. Pass on anything pumpkin spice, a cocktail with pumpkin puree? Grilled halibut sounds good, my tomatoes are still not ripe. I will wait on the wine, name kind of suggests it is less than $10 per bottle. We have been to St. Thomas many times and will return many more times this winter. Happy birthday @Mr. Boston 🍾🎂 Thanks for our Cares and Celebrations reports Vanessa. Prayers for everyone needing them, the citizens of Maui and the people of Ukraine. @kazu thank you for the lovely Dahlia photos and of handsome Ivan with his new trim. Very chilly here, 46 when I got up but warming up to the high 80s by the weekend. Have a lovely day! Nancy
  3. @Lady Hudson Bon Voyage! 🍾🛳️ @Heartgrove thanks for sharing darling Lily yesterday. Good morning. We got a lot of rain in a couple of thunderstorms that came through last night more lightning but thankfully none of the wind that was predicted. Thanks for the daily reports @richwmn. I never owned a black cat but I used to really enjoy lighting off the Black Cat firecrackers shared by Redneck Bob. We had neighbor night two nights ago. We regularly drop off stuff at our local St. Vincents. I love a good Minestrone soup. Forgot what Olive Garden's tastes like. Pass on the cocktail but Bodega Garza Tannat sounds tasty. We have been to Curacao several times first time on the Rotterdam in 2019, then Zuiderdam in December 2019, then a long COVID break and returned in February 2022 on the Nieuw Statendam.and will be returning there several times in our multiple back to backs on the Eurodam January and February. So happy to read yesterday that baby Murphy is making progress. @smitty34877 prayers that your DH continues to get better. I am sure he is so happy to be home. Thanks for keeping our cares and celebrations lists for us Vanessa. Prayers for all on our list, the people of Maui and the people of Ukraine.
  4. Good morning everyone. I hope we get some great jokes today. @RedneckBob thanks for keeping us chuckling most days. The Airborne is an important part of our national defense. I like roller coasters but the more I see of those stuck roller coasters where people are stuck for hours at heights I will pass at this point. A funny quote from LT. @summer slope today's cocktail looks tasty, I love Maker's Mark with ginger ale. @0106 the first chicken wrap recipe looks tasty minus the cilantro. @cat shepard thanks for researching our wines for us each day. Thanks all of you for starting our stomachs growling first thing in the morning every day. Thanks for our Cares and Celebrations reports each day @JazzyV. Prayers for the citizens of Maui after having their crown jewel of a city obliterated with so many of the Lahaina residents. Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. We had a nice pizza dinner at our neighbors last night. The weather was perfect so we sat on their porch until it got dark and the mosquitoes came out. We are finally getting warmer weather but with strong storms and wind today and tomorrow. I don't know if we are having smoke issues here but as happened a for a few days in the last week, I come inside to eat my lunch when I go back outside to work my asthma causes me to get breathless. I had to come inside at 1:00 and sleep for a while so I would have the strength to get cleaned up to go to our neighbors. Back to using my relief meds on a daily schedule until this dies down. At least I can get a good amount of work done before lunch. Have a nice day. Nancy
  5. @Cruzin Terri prayers that your flare settles down. I hope your doctor approves more Prednisone for you. @marshhawk prayers for your DH. Thanks for all the wonderful photos of Hubbard Glacier. We had foggy weather so did not get those gorgeous mountain views.
  6. @grapau27 thank you for the gorgeous garden photos. What a beautiful retreat from the world. Thanks for the Daily reports @richwmn. Acadian Day is a big day of recognition in Canada. My best friend is many states away. My DS is my closest BF now. I think we had a relaxation day a few days ago. We are short timers here so no relaxation. A quick synopsis of life by Forster. I will pass on the balsamic chicken and the bitter drink and another mystery wine. We visited the Hubbard Glacier on my first HA cruise in September 2016 on the Noordam. Thanks for the care and celebrations lists. Prayers for a good response for @smitty34877 DH on his treatment of low WBC. Prayers for baby Murphy to continue to progress. Prayers for the people of Maui. Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. It is 46 degrees right now. It really is getting old to sit inside a cabin all shut up waiting for it to warm up. It makes it easy for me to do the hard work in the garden but my tomato plants are loaded with big tomatoes but they just are getting a hint of color. We are having the boat pulled out on September 5 and will head back home on September 12. Normally it is hard for me to leave here but with the poor fishing and the cool weather it will be nice to get home and see family. Have a nice day. Nancy
  7. @cruising sister Great news on Murphy. It must have felt so great for her parents to be able to hold her today. Thanks for the photos of today's port.
  8. Good morning. I haven't had a creamsicle in decades, I prefer chocolate with my ice cream. We start our day with financial awareness with a healthy dose of CNBC. Wiffle ball was never a favorite. A very true quote. I thought our drink would be strange but it includes dark rum and some good flavors so it is a winner. Pass on the turkey burger and the wine is a question mark for me. Look forward to photos of today's port. Prayers for the people of Maui, those on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. Have a lovely Monday. Nancy
  9. Good Sunday morning. An interesting group of days. My older DS is left handed no one else I know are left handed. Both John and I are middle children third out of four. No garage sales for us today. I will pass on cauliflower and the busy cocktail but the Pinot noir looks like a good one. Thanks to @summer slope, @cat shepard, and @0106 for researching these for us each day. @StLouisCruisers thanks for the photos of Mazatlan. @JazzyVthanks for keeping our cares and celebrations reports for us. I am so sad about the massive loss in Lahaina, prayers for all of the citizens of Maui, so much devastation to repair. Prayers for everyone on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. @smitty34877 prayer that your DH can get treatment for his low white blood cells. @StLouisCruisers happy 75th birthday to your DH. 🍾 @Copper10-8 Happy anniversary! 🍾 It was 46 degrees when I got up this morning. It has been so cool my tomatoes are just beginning to get a hint of color. The lake has barely made it into the 70s all summer. Fishing for us today once the fog burns off and it warms up. Have a lovely Sunday. Nancy
  10. I forgot to add about small river towns in Brazil all had electricity, my last photo shows a satellite dish. There seemed to be water pipes too. The current president of Brazil was also president pre Bolsinaro and his goals for the country was every town had water, schools, electricity and sanitation. One thing that amazed us as we traveled up the Amazon was all the lights we would see along shore at night, not bright but lights.
  11. We visited Boca da Valeria in March on the Volendam Grand South America. When we booked onboard the Nieuw Statendam last year the onboard consultant advised bringing give aways for the kids so I shopped Walmart clearance in October and bought about 3O boxes of crayons for 25 cents a box. Then before we got on the tender a lady caught us in the lounge and asked if we were going ashore and gave us a huge amount of swag gifts that were HA and Essie give aways. Necklaces, earrings, pens, hats and about 10 notepads. Needless to say I was popular, I was pounced on when they saw me coming off the tender. We walked around town but didn't take one of the boats for hire to ride down the river. We had nice weather, cloudy and not too hot. It was bookended by a gorgeous sunrise and sunset and ended with a favorite MDR meal Chicken Tikka.
  12. Good morning. Thanks for our Daily Report each day @richwmn. Have an awesome birthday! 🎂🍾 A good group of days, too hazy here for us to endure the mosquitos to see the Perseid meteor shower, too many satellites to pick through too. We never had Kool Aid, my dad's dairy reconstituted red punch and sold it in their glass milk bottles, the red dye in it always gave me a nose bleed. I have many vinyl records but I am at a loss how to peddle them, same with a ton of baseball cards. Want to sell but don't want to get ripped off either. Memories are an important part of our days each day and have taken us to where we are. Thanks to all our food and drink contributors. Lo Mein is something I could make today, the pineapple cocktail sounds perfect and J Lohr is a great cab to pick up when you only have 1 minute in the wine store. @smitty34877 you really could use a break. 🤯 Prayers for you and your DH and for Tana. @Copper10-8 Happy anniversary! 🍾 @StLouisCruisers happy birthday to DH Dennis. We had a good trip to town and topped it off with Broasted Chicken. We decided to bring a box to our neighbors as a surprise and when we dropped it off we were glad we did, they both looked they had been working outside all day. Prayers for all on our Care list. Prayers for baby Murphy and the people of Ukraine. First pre season game for the Ravens versus the Eagles. A cool day here, I hope the sun comes out. I already have scheduled our boat to be taken out and wrapped around September 5 and finalized our visit to Baltimore on September 22-25, friends and family to be seen that we missed last year when we cancelled due to the East Coast hurricane. Summer is winding down here. Have a good weekend! Nancy
  13. Good morning everyone. We had a beautiful sunrise glow today. No sand to play in, I get enough Presidential jokes on Facebook. No sons or daughters for me to celebrate. Cary Grant's quote sounds like our days up here. Thanks for the Daily reports. @0106 I will not be able to help with grilled fish. I am only a fan of white, flaky fish like Cod and Walleye and they don't lend well to grilling. I do broil Cod with a mayo and shrimp topping and our fried fish. My hint in using store bought fish batter is to use ice cold club soda instead of water. The Paloma drink sounds good and I hope the vino is a good one. Looking forward to photos of today's port . Grand Africa is on my wish list once I have to start taking RMDs from my IRAs. Prayers that baby Murphy will get off ECMO soon and that her heart has improved. So happy to hear that @1ANGELCATs DF Barb has been released from the hospital. Prayers for everyone on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. Prayers for the town of Lahaina and her citizens. I treasure the two times I got to spend time there, such a tragedy. We are heading to town, rain for most of the day here, we need it. I still will have to water the tomatoes and hanging baskets before leaving in case the storm splits as it does often here between 2 Great Lakes. @StLouisCruisers great news on Ren going to the tournament in Mexico City. Have a wonderful Friday. Nancy
  14. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn. I haven't had a smore in decades but they are wonderful fun for the kiddos. Wish I could be lazy today, maybe in 7 weeks when we are back downstate. Lions deserve a day to recognize their decreasing numbers in the wild. Funny quote by RD. We have been to Georgetown once but just walked around town. I think it was Zuiderdam December 2019. I was looking forward to going this year but it was changed to a visit to Jamaica, not the same. Prayers for all the people of Lahaina, especially those who lost their lives, burned, and lost their homes, businesses and pets. It was a charming town. @JazzyV thanks for keeping us updated on all life events and celebrations each day. Prayers for all needing them and the people of Ukraine. A beautiful but breezy day today. Rain all day tomorrow so we will kill time driving an hour to Iron Mountain to get groceries and lunch and then perhaps fish fry somewhere. Have a wonderful Thursday. Nancy
  15. Good morning everyone. @ger-cruiser thinking of your dear husband today. Prayers for a smooth and successful procedure. @catmando prayers for you today and success in your treatments. @mamaofami so happy to read DH will be coming home today. @Tbay Happy birthday! 🍾🎂
  16. Good morning everyone. An interesting group of days again today. Indigenous people deserve their day to be recognized. I love reading books but the only times I can focus on them is on a BHB. The only time I have polkaed was in high school in gym where we had "folk activity" but we had another name for it. A thought provoking quote. Today's dish looks wonderful, my tomatoes are very slow ripening but I will have many when they are, perfect for this dish. As usual I will take my Laphroaig neat. The wine should be good. Looking forward to photos of Cape Town. Thanks for keeping us updated on our members health events and celebrations @JazzyV . Prayers for Baby Murphy. Prayers for all on our lists and the people of Ukraine. Thanks for your lovely Hydrangea photos @grapau27. It is always wonderful to have a piece of another's garden for memories. Fishing was passable yesterday, back to gardening today. Moving some Stachys, Lambs Ear that has encroaching grass. The last Japanese Iris finished yesterday. The Daylilies are either at peak or winding down. We may go up into the woods and saw up that fallen Cedar and some maple branches for next year's fire starting. Have a nice Wednesday.
  17. @marshhawk Absolutely wonderful news. @rafinmd happy that your power came on sooner than the final update from the power company.
  18. Good morning everyone. I will always celebrate cats although I no longer have them. Happy memories of frozen custard from Kohrs off the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. Zucchini have way of getting too big overnight. Great quote by Lincoln. I absolutely love chicken enchiladas, thank you @0106for the recipes. Pass on the minty cocktail but today's wine looks good. Thanks @summer slope and @cat shepard. I look forward to photos of today's port. I pray that those recovering from surgery are well, Barb and Murphy. Prayers for everyone needing them and the people of Ukraine. Last night as I was deciding whether to shut our large slider to the screened in porch my lamp lit up a flyer on the porch. It was a bat. It had been 10 years since we had a bat inside a living area. The gray nose disease wiped out many of them so they must be rebounding. John zapped it with ether spray and whacked it and killed it. Basically no safe way to remove them. 😿🦇. I got a large clump of Shasta daisies dug up and divided and replanted in more visible places. Fishing today. For international cat day, a Siamese from Olinda, Brazil, a shorthair from Peru, a waif that showed up at my house that I rehomed and my last 2 kitties, Lydia a Maine Coon and Tiny a Korat.
  19. Good morning, no sea serpents here or a beach to have a party. We should recognize Purple Heart achievers every day. A good quote by Sandberg. Pass on the moussaka, take my Laphroaig neat and will pass on today's wine. @StLouisCruisers and @Heartgrove thank you for the photos of Heraklion. Prayers today for Baby Murphy and her family. Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. Prayers for the three lost CA firefighters who perished in a helicopter crash and the victims of flooding in Juneau. A quiet day here, we hauled firewood and stacked it in the deck. Today it might be cutting up a fallen Cedar tree on my property up the road. Have a nice Monday. Nancy
  20. @Copper10-8 Bon Voyage! 🍾🛳️ Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn. Hiroshima was the beginning of the end of WWII in the Pacific, I enjoy blues more than jazz and farmworkers are really important so we can eat. A good quote. I will pass on the vegan lasagna and the cocktail but I really like Cava I wish it was easier to find. Thanks for the the lovely photos of Malta @Quartzsite Cruiser. Thanks @cat shepard, @0106 and @summer slope for researching these for us every day. Thanks for keeping us up to date @JazzyV. Prayers for everyone on our Care list, baby Murphy, @1ANGELCAT friend Barb, and the people of Ukraine. @StLouisCruisers, thanks for the photo of you dinner with @dfishand Sue and your DH. I hope the fog clears for you. @kazu thanks for the beautiful lily photos yesterday and the picture of Ivan starting to grow some eyebrows. We had a nice time at wine and tapas last night. They really need some help on outreach to the community to get some better silent auction items. The food and all but one of the wines were very good. I am smoking a pork shoulder, the last big cut from my 1/2 hog. I am afraid all the county fairs in Michigan will have no 4-H hogs after this week. CDC has confirmed 2 cases of human transmission of swine flu in Michigan. A day of grill tending and gardening for me, fishing for John. Have a lovely Sunday. Nancy
