Walked off with luggage mid-May at 730am on a Saturday and straight into a taxi. There was also a large HAL ship disembarking that morning. I think it was around $50 to the airport.

I like those cabins on Enchanted and Sky, didnt find it 'wierd' at all and the cabin did not get hot. It can get very windy in that Retreat area. I did see the advantage of the larger Retreat area on Regal/Royal, though.

Respectfully, I disagree. I do not consider it 'selfish' to book a deluxe balcony for 2 people if I am willing to pay the extra for the seating area. Would you tell the person wanting to book 3 people into the deluxe they should be required to book a mini? Or they could book a balcony with dropdown bunks? I have never tried this 'dummy guest' trick but I have straight out booked deluxe balconys for 2 of us.

For a generally quiet outdoor area, try the outdoor deck area aft on deck 7. There are outdoor exits back near Vista lounge and during the day there are chairs and small tables set out.

On Majestic there is no Sanctuary. I suspect you are referring to Hollywood Conservatory which is a public space. Although it is nice, it is different from the Sanctuary.

Good luck! Planning to fly in a few days early and purchasing travel insurance was a great decision. The current air travel issues go to show that delays can occur anytime. I used to worry only in the winter but now I worry with every flight!

While I really prefer flying into FLL, yes it is possible to use a taxi or rideshare to go between Port Everglades and MIA. We have done the opposite (MIA to Ft. Lauderdale pre-cruise), due to much cheaper flights into MIA than we could get into FLL (even after factoring in the $100 ride). Just be sure you have enough time.

My experience may support that theory. Last fall I was looking to book a balcony or deluxe balcony on a specific deck for a May 2023 Alaska. All balcony rooms on my desired Lido deck showed as guarantee. I emailed my Princess Vacation Planner and she promptly provided 4 or 5 balcony and 1 deluxe balcony cabins to choose from. She has never tried to upsell me, responds promptly, and I dont have to wait on hold. So far, so good.....

It sounds like you want to know if your bags can be transfered to the hotel without you! My money is on 'no' but I think its a question for Princess. I would think this might be an unusual scenario.

One of you needs to own 100 shares. 50 shares each gets you no benefit.

@Fishbone Love your writing style and have been checking back to see how your trip is going. I do hope you are having a great time and are too busy (or have too poor of wifi) to post, and not that you have been feeling too poorly to post.

Regarding the GF pizza, I have traveled with my daughters who are GF (one vegetarian as well). Both really liked the GF pizza from Alfredos/Gigis. No need to order ahead and they will customize the toppings if you ask. There is no upcharge. Its unfortunate they did not have a GF dessert offering, but I like the Tiramisu.

Good luck, I am sure this was frusstrating. It will be interesting to see how this turns out for you. I would fear that since EZAir did provide tickets that you chose not to use, they will not refund for the unused tickets. Its challenging even dealing directly with airlines, I have had flights changed multiple times in the course of 6 or 9 months since booking.

I agree with you that it makes the area much more crowded. But.....my favorite cabins to book are those balconys on Sun deck on Enchanted and Sky. So I have mixed feelings......

Iced coffees/iced lattes are available at International Cafe. Iced drinks have not been available a the specialty coffee area within the buffet, they had hot drinks only.

I am mostly a Princess cruiser, have sailed Carnival, NCL, and Celebrity. Have not been on MCS but was considering it, based on the fact I may be able to get a better solo cabin price than on Princess, so I appreciate your perspective on MSC. I think you will be OK on Sky. I have never had issues with buffet seating, you dont have to make reservations for shows although I do recommend arriving 1/2 hour early for popular production shows. You will find ocasional incorrect drink charges but I check our account daily, report incorrect charges to guest services and they have been removed. Food and drink ordering via the app can be spotty, things may arrive late or not at all. Deck chairs may fill up on sea days. I have not seen any big issue with rude passengers. We have done 10 day sailings early Dec the last 2 years on Enchanted and I would not hesitate to go again. Enjoy!

My understanding is you get the 'old' plus in effect when you bought it, or you can upgrade for the added $10 per day.

We have sailed Carribean twice in balcony rooms on Enchanted. We always keep the temp as low as it will go and keep the curtains closed when we are not in the room. Mostly it stayed comfortable. I always travel with a small packable fan, though, just in case.

I booked a 5 day out of FLL March 2022 for $199 (+tax and fees) , that was a balcony w/o plus and no single supplement.It came with $100 OBC, I got $100 stockholder OBC and $50 OBC for my FCD. Of course I had to add in wifi and grats and some drinks but, hey, it was almost like sailing free. If only I could find that now out of FLL......

Absolutely correct. Acually if you fall with or without the lights in your cabin, I would say that is pretty much on the passenger and is not Princess fault. Before these annoying lights were installed, we did always bring a couple of battery operated tea lights to put at night in the bathroom. But that bright closet could wake the dead!

I am loving your trip report, you are such an entertaining writer. I hope you are feeling better. it sounds like you are worn out from all of the pre-cruise adventures! We sailed this itinerary (but with Skagaway) last year on Majestic in May. If you are looking for 'warm' check out Hollywood Conservatory, with the indoor pool/hot tub and lots of seating along the glass walls. Also the noodle bar on Lido Deck for a snack. It is on Majestic only, most ships have quick-serve pizza in that spot. As you found, Alfredos is not really a place for a 'quick' bite but we will go there in place of the dining room for dinner.

I was on this cruise last month. I actually found the lines at IC went more smoothly as they were splt between food and drinks. They were shorter than what I have experienced in the past. I found the line in Horizon Court to be slower. And yes Victoria is pretty much just another sea day. Our arrival time was pushed back an hour and we did not bother getting off. Its too bad they cant find a way to get the ships in port sooner, its a nice stop if actually given time to visit.

I know FCC=Future Cruise Credit and FCD=Future Cruise Deposit. What is FVD? That one is new to me.....
