  1. This is not the first post in cc that SIL were seeking advise for stubborn BIL. Posts like BIL refused to wear clothes and some sort... Are you responsible to take care of an adult BIL to this extend? You didnt mention his age, assuming an adult. Just let him to take care of his own problem. On embarkation, you move on with your Green lane. And wave him "See you in the ship!"
  2. Make sense to include a Nespresso in the Forward facing Suites on the higher decks because they are so far away from everything. We are close to the Concierge Lounge and will not need a coffee making machine in our Suite. We will enjoy sitting in a table with amazing view and be asked "decaf or regular?"
  3. We sailed Eurodam last year when we had to choose between Crown or Eurodam. Crown was having serious engine issues at that time, so Eurodam didn't win it just marginally. Both ran the same itinerary except that Crown always departed a port an hour earlier and arrived to the next port 2 hours later than HAL. We saw from our balcony how the Eurodam passed it on the water effortlessly and one can easily see how Crown was struggling with the speed. I feel sorry for the guests having their port days cut few hours short - speaking of focus in itinerary.
  4. What you read from other reviews that gave you a scare are probably worth consideration. Crown is not without issues to be true to the facts. You have chosen a challenging ship. Its price is not necessarily cheap either. We want you to come back to Princess and not to run away after one sailing. If you are sailing in this Spring, there are many great newer Royal Class to Alaska, like Majestic is very cheap right now. I would choose Majestic over Crown in a heartbeat specially $999 for a mini suite is hard to pass up.
  5. I didn't read through the entire thread. I have the same concern. We love new ships and have never been on one as old as the Island yet.
  6. Would department of agriculture let us bring the flowers out at disembarkation too? We had beautiful flowers from Princess, a large display piece indeed and sadly left it behind.
  7. No problem at all! Thank you for clarifying. We like the itinerary too and looking forward to that cruise!
  8. Is it something I said? I only meant she is gorgeous. No negativity intended.
  9. I just checked my booking, it is $1250.00 OBC. That's for two of us. I think yours is not too far off since it is a segment.
  10. It appears going really fast. When itineries first came out 3 days ago, pricing had yet to be available. We checked back the next day, almost 30% of cabins across all categories appeared "booked". Last night, more than 60% appeared booked. More categories are offered in guaranteed bookings. The Island Princess is an Old Lady, nothing wrong with that, just wish that Princess would give us a Royal Princess or better for that price.
  11. Can you please elaborate are all elite perks are gone such as free laundry services?
  12. You got free balconies being casino player and upgraded to full suites, were you paying a fraction of the original Suite price? We are not gamblers; and we don't know. A S4 to S6 suites this year and next year easily go from $8k to $19k average $14k a suite for two person. You must have gamed the same amount of money to get the free cabin from casino again. They aren't giving away for free, right?
  13. I don't believe the invitation comes strictly by luck. It is selective! In opposite to most people believe, Elites aren't the biggest asset of Princess anymore. It is the future younger guests, who make good income and are willing to spend a lot on the ship starting with a full Suite cabin. Princess has starting chipping away some Elite perks. Go figure.
  14. Yes, you could make it if you get off at the earliest at 7am, take a taxi, and be at the gate by 8am. We had done that.
  15. A reliable source told me that "the Porters are hired by the stevedores, employed by the cruise lines." They indeed work for the Cruise lines.
  16. There are itineraries from February '24 to August '24 as well. Not just September.
  17. Have you considered making a complaint to Port Everglades? It is easy, we had sent an email to the email address below. PortEvergladesCruise@broward.org I don't know where it would go from there but doesn't hurt to try.
  18. Thank you for the information! We are inclined not having another cruise to Caribbean anytime soon. Sort of tired of seeing Princess Cays again. So, it has to be earlier than later! We are already booked on one voyage, just need to connect the dots.
  19. My general rule is if I include Airport transfer to Ship or transfer from Ship to Airport, I do not pay tip to porter. We paid a lot to Princess already. If we arrived to the port on Uber or taxi, we will tip the taxi driver and the porter. But if they "demanded" tip, that's different perspective. The porters at Fort Lauderdale in particular are extra aggressive on that. In that case, we would not give them any money.
  20. I am loving this new Sun Princess the more I see it. Gorgeous ship! I am already thinking booking a b2b or b2b2b if I can find the same cabin available on different voyages to avoid the hassle to pack up and move.
  21. Not your life in fashion obviously. There is no need for you to retrospect it again.
  22. We book all our flights through EZAir because we like having it added to the cruise to be paid at final payment. That's the only reason we use EZAir.
  23. Our life is on the formal side, and my husband loves suits. I will look the best of me on formal nights and so will my husband. We looked blend in at least in the crowd around our dining table. It's a cruise, and people could be there to celebrate something in their life; if they wanted to dress up on non formal nights too, they could. And we had done that. I know some people can go on a cruise vacation with just one carryon luggage, but that is not us. Luckily, most airlines allow one free checked bag and that solves our problems.
