Thank you for the info. My husband gambles in a sweet spot to qualify for Elite cruises but he's definitely not at the highest level. He spreads his gambling among all the lines, so not concentrated to any particular one.  We just finished our first comped Virgin cruise and it was great! Going on a comped Royal cruise in two days then a MSC end of September.

If I can find anything out I'll be sure to post it.

I've got too many good offers right now but not enough vacation time! Cruised in March, another booked for October and an Elite in January.

In the meantime maybe @lanfield would post up what their offer was?

  2. @kwokpot (sorry, forgot to quote you) It's the highest of highest IMO. If I see the person who got the offer I'll ask if they remember all the perks. I know it was from the players club because they got the offer in the mail and it was in a special envelope, kind of like the Elite, Ultra ones use to come. The person who got it is at the highest tier at our local casino so I know they spend tons. Nothing to see them spending $75 a spin all night.

The Casino Department told me directly that it has to be the same "type". Nothing about the same cruise. My husband's offer we are booked on is an "FHS" and mine that is also the "Hot Streak Bonus" is "FHB". I also have a Jackpot Deal that allows me to get free drinks everywhere on the ship, and it's available for my current cruise, but because it's not the same "type", they will not combine it.

Ultimately we went the option that includes the best free room (Suite) and most free play for us both because I won't spend $1000 on drinks. We are getting 1 free suite, DOU anywhere for him, DOU in Casino for me, and we each get $1000 in funplay.

I think you will find that if you go see the casino host and show the offer for you with drinks everywhere you will get it. Beware of the fun play though if that is a different amount.

It has to be the same “type” of offer. Example being “Jackpot Deal” or “Hot Streak Bonus”. My husband had a free suite, $1000 fun play, and free drinks anywhere on the ship as a Jackpot deal. We booked it, and then I called the casino line and they added my perks on.

My Jackpot deal has DOU in the Casino and $1000 fun play.  But it does have to be the same type of deal. I had another type of promotion with free drinks everywhere but it wasn’t the same type of promo, so I was told no.

It doesn't have to be the same "type" of offer. You both just have to have offers for the same cruise, which is what messes people up. We've had the same exact offers before but there were cruises that didn't match up with both offers.

Thank you. The offers are both online offers (same cruise). Can I just print out the offer for proof?

If the offers are good for the same cruise you should be fine. Sometimes you don't get the same offers for a specific cruise. Just wanted you to be sure you both get the offer for the cruise you pick.

I always print out the offer just in case. Never had to show it though. The casino host will know what offers you had for that specific cruise.

  6. Have your husband book and get the free drinks everywhere. You will get the DOU card in the casino. Just take a copy of your offer and show the casino host.

Edit: Just wanted to add that you need to make sure it's a cruise you BOTH get the offer for. If he books one that you don't have the offer for you won't get it.

I don't think they handle it at all. It's 15 drinks under a specific folio number and then that folio number is cut off. Life's hard get a helmet I guess.

All I can say is that this was not true on the Freedom 2 months ago. Bought enough buckets of beer one day (6 of us sitting by pool) that I would of been cut off quite early. None of the buckets counted against my Cheers (even though Carnival states 1 would count). Did hit my 15 limit later that night in the casino though. From what I have always seen the limit is 15 individual drinks. A bottle of wine, bucket of beer, etc have never counted against my Cheers. YMMV

All my Elite sailings have offered the standard amenities of the in room bar setup, comped excursion + 1, priority boarding /debarkation (platinum benefits might be new, I have no reason to pay attention to that), comped room service (does not include alcoholic drinks however), drinks everywhere  +1, limo service  to/from port and gifts.  The only discretionary item for the Elite offer is room type and amount of Fun Play.

I'd verify the amenities of the offer with Ocean Players Club or if you have a a PVP you have a good relationship with he/she can get you in contact with a Carnival Executive Host directly (my preferred route). I'd wager 100 bucks you have all the standard Elite benefits.

Now, if one of the itineraries work for you is a different story.  I'm not booking an Elite with this offer... the ships (with except Vista) aren't my cup of tea.

I went ahead and contacted my PVP (she is awesome) and can verify that what you say is correct. Elite perks are elite perks, room and free play offers will differ. Decided to go ahead and book in January out of New Orleans. Now to work on the casino department for some more free play! 😁

Hello! Long time reader, first time poster. 🙂 My hubby booked a father/son cruise and paid for the Cheers package for himself. Our son is a juvenile so no Cheers for him. The Cheers package isn't showing up on the Booking and Order Details page like the other Fun Shop purchases he's made so we can't verify the billing info other than checking our credit card statement.

This brings me to my question.... or story with a question at the end... I recently accepted a new job which means I can let them know that we have a vacation planned and paid for this summer. Score! I have been added to the cruise! 🙂 The problem is, my hubby had already paid for Cheers for himself prior to me being added to the cruise. The Cheers purchase isn't showing on the Order Details page, but the system tells us that I cannot purchase Cheers because all of the adults in the cabin have already booked and paid for it. We checked our credit card that was used for the original Cheers package and there haven't been any new charges since I've been added to the booking.

Will Carnival automatically add Cheers for me when we board and charge it to our S&S card or have we lucked out and I won't have to pay for it?

I don't drink so there's no need for me to have the package. I'm a soda and water gal so I won't benefit from it at all, but hubby can so him having it and me not being forced to purchase would benefit both of us.

Has anyone experienced this before that can provide some insight? Has anyone been added to a cabin that already had Cheers purchased that can tell me if they were automatically added to the Cheers package for the cabin? If so, how were you charged for it?

IMO.......Carnival will not charge you for Cheers at this time. However, I would be prepared for a potential charge once on board.

If it were me in your situation I wouldn't say a word since you don't really need Cheers, but at the same time be prepared for a charge to your sail and sign card once on board just in case.

Just saw an Elite offer pop up (first in perhaps 3-4 years). No mention of bottle of alcohol nor free play. Lots of dates, but none of them work (either not out of FL, on a ship I don't care to sail on, or too close to existing sailings) darn it !

Besides - I agree - the casino sailings just mean a hoard of people. I prefer elbow room!

    Tom

Think I got the same offer as you. Free drinks, free balcony and that's it. And the dates sure do stink!

Funny thing is I have a "Spring into Big Savings" casino offer that is better. That has free balcony, free drinks anywhere, $500 free play and way more options when/where to sail.

They are their own force now having broken off from DON many, many years ago. Still, the acronym is accurate- Marines Always Ride In Navy Equipment 😉. Semper Fi! (I read up on this vessel because my first ship was an LST and it looks like this is a replacement for that platform, at least in part.)

They are their own force but still operate under The Department of the Navy.

Spirit class.  small ship, not crowded.  has 3 big pools.  has a pool in the serenity area.  back pool is open to the ocean, not surrounded by glass or ship structure.  Cost premium on a balcony room is small since it has so many balcony cabins.

That's good to hear. I'm looking forward to checking out a different layout. We got an extended balcony on this cruise.

My favorite ship is the Breeze - is she considered a Dream class ship? Seems like she's kind of a bridge ship between Dream and Vista classes.

I also love the Conquest class ships!

Yes, the Breeze is Dream class.

  14. So we just booked a cruise on the Carnival Spirit in October. Looking at the ship layout I realized we have not been on a Spirit class ship before and it got me thinking about what everyone's favorite class of ship is so I decided to make a little poll to see.

Our all time favorite ship has been the Splendor. No idea why. We just always had a great time on that ship (4 cruises on it)!

Favorite class would likely be Dream class.
