The prepayment shows up at the time of booking the cruise itself, not MTD reservations.
Didn't see any prepayment then either.

If Canadian and English bacon are the same thing why the different names?
-
There's American bacon, Canadian bacon and English bacon; so, why can't there be Turkey bacon?
-
I recently booked my MTD reservations for my March 2018 cruise and did not see any mention of prepaying gratuities.

Unless the OP lives in Mexico, why would you suggest he/she has a duty free allowance? Also.......... those to whom he/she is giving the 'suitcase', who li ve in Mexcico, don't get duty free allowance.... Ha d they been on the ship an left with gthe other t ourists, they woldl receive the items while on the ship and would make a customs declarration. tio...... If they have not left the country, they don't get a duty free allowance for receiving a gift.
Duty-free allowance
Duty-free allowance is a tax exemption granted by the Mexican Government to a national or foreign passenger for certain merchandise he is bringing in Mexico.
- Passengers entering Mexico by land are allowed to import merchandise additional to their baggage for up to $300.00 USD.*
- Persons that reside in the north border are allowed to import merchandise for up to $150.00 USD.*
- During holiday periods –Easter, Summer, Christmas, New Year-, passengers may import up to $500.00 USD.*1
- Passengers entering Mexico by air or a maritime port may import up to $500.00 USD.
- Passengers entering Mexico by land are allowed to import merchandise additional to their baggage for up to $300.00 USD.*

Wow. When I lived in NOLA, I cruised from there twice. Most of the other passengers I met had flown in for the cruise so to base the ruliness of the people on the departure port seems very odd. I also lived in Washington State and cruised from Seattle to Alaska on which I encountered a number of passengers whom I found to be unruly but I did not attribute their behavior to being a Seattleite.

If you read the additional term and conditions you would have been informed that the 18% gratuity is not included in the listed price. I have learned to always read the additional terms and conditions. :)

But why doesn't it say "government issued ID and either an original government-issued, original or certified copy of his or her birth certificate" as it does for those under 16? The birth certificate requirement language should be identical.
Having reread RCCL's website I see what you are saying. I guess my adult daughters will need a passport because they have a Cosular Report of Birth Abroad (which was issued by DOS not DOA) instead of a birth certificate.
-
While the RCCL site states WHTI approved documents are acceptable, they also have a section with exceptions for minors under the age of 16 which states "either an original government-issued, original or certified copy of his or her birth certificate; a Consular Report of Birth Abroad Issued by DOA; or Certificate of Naturalization issued by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services". I could be wrong but if the WHTI approved docs applied to all, why would they have a separate section for minors? Just nuts.
Mebbe its just me but I wouldn't show up with a photocopy either - we've always cruised with a passport. With the subjectiveness the rules could be interpreted, I would want to make sure that we are able to board without a doubt......
The reason for the separate section is because individuals over 16 have to provide a government issued ID card AND one of those documents

Nils, at the risk of sounding snarky, why did you post this on a year old Royal Caribbean thread. Wouldn't your post better serve those reading the RCL threads?

I pack a mini-mag light on each cruise. One cruise cabin was extremely dusty all the time, so I used the flashlight to look through the slots.
I will have to add mini-mag light to my packing list.

I get the timeout if I don't refresh the page periodically. I am using Safari on an IPad.

You might want to check hotelnparking.com to see if there are any hotels that offer free parking while you cruise.

Wouldn't buying Vanilla be much easier??
It might be someone else's favorite also.

The guar gum is used as an emulsifier, or stabilizer because it stops solids from settling.
It is the Corn syrup used to soften texture, add volume and stop crystallization that enhances the flavour.
Don't want to hijack this thread any more and upset the OP any further but here's a link for more info
My post was an attempt at humor.:) But, since you decided to educate us, the use of guar in ice cream (in this case ice cream-like) products is to control the formation of ice crystals
In several food and beverages guar gum is used as additive in order to change its viscosity or as fiber source.
Food. Function
Baked goods. Dough improver [14]
Cheese Texture improver [15]
Ice Cream. Smaller ice crystals [16]
Fried Products. Oil uptake reduction [17]

I went on a Southern Caribbean cruise last March on the Serenade. Next March I am going back to the Southern Caribbean on the Grandeur. We will go to 2 of the same ports but 3 different ones. If you are wondering how the different ports will compare I think the only way to find out is to visit them.
-
Do an internet search "age requirement xxxxxx (cruise line). I looked at RCCL, Carnival and NCL which all explain their policies.
-
LOL, I was thinking the same.
That make 3 of us. :)

exactly what I was going to say ...... military bases of any size have an office just for passport and visa processing .....
Passport offices on stateside ARMY bases only process official travel passport applications. And it still takes 4-6 weeks to get.

How would doing your checkin now be any different from doing it 3 weeks from now?
