Thanks. You have some very recent real life experience. I agree with the bottom line from most of your points, but not necessarily the reasons. We can compare notes when I return from my 15 day Emerald Panama cruise next month. We purchase the “package when it was only $40 a person per day (not called Plus) and you are so right. It was a screaming bargain. With the new prices, Princess is getting closer in price to her competitors.

When was your most recent Princess cruise? I am on a Princess cruise next month, so I will see for myself. I will be paying close attention to Silverado’s Sauvignon Blanc. I will see if it above $16 or higher as you suggest. I believe it was around $12 four or five years ago.

Perhaps, but the difference between Cruise only and AI is that the exactly the same in all cruises. I suspect the TA/Celebrity resolved the issue causing the difficulty. You may have paid the prevailing rate with the AI. Since it was after the final payment, they may have just charged you the difference. The Celebrity invoice (and maybe the TA’s invoice) would indicate what they did. I am fairly confident that the AI is not available as a separate stand alone item. Since you asked for the AI from the beginning, I am glad to received it.

Four device premium internet for each person. Being able to make speciality dining reservations (no charge) in advance for the Royal Suite is a nice benefit IMO. Although not necessarily a published benefit, when staying in an Upper Suite one always seem to be able to change their reservation for Speciality Dining. Numerous times, when we change dates (based on the Luminae menus), I hear the Concierge call and start with there are no openings, but I have two guests staying in a XXX. Do not know the actual difference in price for you, but the RS is an excellent experience that is worth a premium. Financially a difficult experience. I do not know if this is important to you. You do not have a view of the Ocean of the Ocean from the bed. How much more does the CS cost than a corner Sky Suite?(sunset SS?). hiw much more for the RS over the CS? Good luck.

Perhaps they will realize that they made a mistake, but I think most people that did not previously pay the $40 or $50 say they do not drink enough for it to make sense. Therefore the almost certain increase in drink costs will have little affect on them. They will just need to pay more for the little that they drink. IMO it was very nice and smart of Princess to let people know that there was a price increase/new package coming. ticked off at themselves, but no good reason to be ticked off at Princess. They made the choice.

The exception might be the four device Wifi, which I believe is an RS amenity.

I checked my cruise. I only paid $40 for my Plus package. It clear reflects the drinks up the $15, WIFI (that increased in cost), and crew appreciation (that has also gone up in costs) are in my current Plus package. The New items are not included, which will not be implemented until 2/20 anyway are not included. I am amazed that so many people think that they will be shafted with the drink packages, will have have to pay more for wifi, and/or more for crew appreciation. Leaves me wondering what Princess has ever done to them to create such a lack of common sense/trust. I am not concerned at all. The pessimistic will be pleasantly surprised.

This appears to be a cruise offering a cabin with a $0 supplement. Even on other categories of cabins.

You never gamble in the casino on board a Celebrity ship? If not, why do they offer you a free cruise? Does the Blue Chip Club pay Celebrity for the cruises?

I am not an expert, but doesn’t the Blue Chip Club pay Celebrity for the cruises that they give or discount to their members? I find it hard to believe that all the money that is lost gambling is not much more profitable than Cruise margins. Hardly free to the cruisers IMO.

I agree that Oceania’s food and restaurants are amazing, but the beverage package is weak.

I know it seems crazy, but I wonder if Celebrity’s “system” is incorrectly considering Children pricing as a discount that cannot be combined with any other additional disc count. Since the website clearly shows both prices with the discount Celebrity is screwed up. Did you try calling them to book the excursions? Although the detailed conditions say it is a “web” special, I know they will book the special pricing on the phone. And also the small prints says you cannot cancel and rebook, but that is also not rue. I know you said you called, but did you just ask the question about why you cannot book children pricing in line? If yes, I suggest you call and actually book the excursion on the phone. Good luck.

Since I am always able to select seats on AA and I know you are not able to book seats, I tried to look it up, since I am curious as to why are experiences are so different. (Or hopefully I can give you advise that might work) Are you on flight AA37 or AA8632 from Mad to DFW? Also when I go into AA.com, I cannot book any AA flights (All airlines) from Athens to Mad. Is this a non AA booking?

The Princess Penthouse Suite cabin is significantly bigger and nicer than a Celebrity Sky Suite. You are certainly correct that the Princess Suite benefits are much less. Has your Princess PH quote been discounted by your TA, just to make sure that you are comparing Apples to Apples.

My TA (with the discount) is very responsive and we communicate mostly via e mail. I get my quotes and ask my questions. I always pay via a phone conversation.

It sure woukd be disappointing not to have the Escargot offered.
