  1. Thanks for a great review @Ozark_Kid and @brillohead It was fun following and it kept me going until I board Navigator tomorrow. 🙂
  2. This was August 2021. Just after the restart. We were especially excited since it was our first cruise back. I think for an Alaska cruise it is especially nice since outdoor weather is often poor. With this cabin you get spectacular views with your feet up on the coach.
  3. Yeah I can’t imagine a price drop triggering that. Did Royal give you any explanation about why they thought it happened and what are they doing to remedy it? is the cruise paid in full?
  4. I was waiting for her to say that she hooked up with the random dude and they are now engaged to be married. 🤯
  5. I spent the first 50 years of life living in Vancouver and agree with @Husky1987 The only changes I'd make to the list is I'd add... find somewhere to eat in what is called the West end. There are several good spots around Beach Ave. / Denman St. / Davie St. It is a very busy and vibrant area. If you have a car for the day drive around Stanley Park and you end up in the West End. The other change would be to go to Lynn Canyon instead of Capilano Suspension bridge. It is more interesting in my opinion and it is free. It has an awesome suspension bridge (better than Capilano's) and lots of great trails to hike. Also, you can get much closer to the falls. Also, Vancouver's China town is utterly amazing just be careful not to venture too far north of China Town when walking. The Main St and Hastings St area of Vancouver is one of the worst areas in Canada. It is an open drug market with rampant crime and homelessness. If you were walking Google maps walking direction will take you from the east side of China Town right through that area if walking to the popular tourist area of Gas Town. If you go through China Town east to west then turn north and cross Hasting farther down you will enjoy the walk much more.
  6. Change and lose the $100 per person is your best bet. It bites but is better than losing the $250 per person. You can still get refundable deposits but when booking you have to specifically ask for it unless you are booking with a TA who is offering group space. That is generally always refundable.
  7. On Odyssey get your Starbucks type coffee drinks with the coffee card at Cafe 270 aft on deck 5. There is a Starbucks on deck 4 but the coffee card can't be used there. I can't remember because I might be confusing it with Ovation (I was on both last year) but I think you can get also get it in the windjammer at the bar too. I'm sure someone else will correct or confirm here.
  8. I think way back in 2019 when we originally booked that cruise, which got cancelled in 2020 and lift and shifted all the way to 2022, you recommended the 7th deck obstructed for their value. You couldn't have been more right! I'd book those 7th deck cabins on a quantum class again in a heartbeat. Now deck 6... that's a different story. Some of those are terribly obstructed.
  9. We get fish tacos all the time. I don't know a Mexican restaurant anywhere around central or southern CA that doesn't serve fish tacos. They are very common. I just had some for lunch today. It is usually served with cabbage and pico de gallo.
  10. I had 7260 on Ovation back in August. It was listed as obstructed but, like @Ourusualbeach said, I can tell you that there is no obstruction worth talking about. It was a great cabin. This was our view.
  11. I have an old iPhone 7 I keep with really basic low budget service so I can keep my Canadian number I have had since the 90's. I just tried it on the same picture and it wouldn't work. I imagine your phone is too old as well.
  12. They are mirrored. They have a dark tint it you are looking inside out. From the outside you can't see in. Mostly they just look cool. I'm not sure there is any other utility beyond that.
  13. Yes that is a recent change. It used to be listed with Voom.
  14. @Jimbo Glad the flights with Allegiant worked well. Enjoy your trip. I'm expecting great things out of @brillohead and @Ozark_Kid on their joint live on Allure! Yesterday was another spectacular day on the slopes. Being a skier in Central CA means that my local ski options are very limited and snow is generally rubbish. Yesterday was the first exception in five years up at China Peak. I have never seen so much snow and such good snow in all my time here. Yesterday was an absolutely epic day. The great benefit of skiing in this area is that generally you can expect blue skies almost every single day. I'm boarding Navigator in 9 days... I love my life. 🙂
  15. No, the package will cover up to $14 if that is the typical price aboard your ship. You only pay the difference in rare circumstances. I have never ordered something off the menu that wasn't covered by the package.
