  1. I couldn't count cards sober... after a few drinks I can't tell time. The casino profits are safe from me.
  2. I've only been on Oasis and the top tier party was in the theatre...
  3. Is the screen ok during the day. I'd have thought the image would be pretty washed out.
  4. Mine just says early access not preview. I hope you are right. I would really like a few more deals on things that didn't go on sale for me.
  5. We did the same except we only grab the 12 pack. The price, depending on the cruise, was either 16.99 or 18.99.
  6. I can't remember exactly what my favorite bar was. I think it varied depending on the time of day. In the evening I spent a fair bit of time in the music fall. During the day I'd say it was split between the Lime and Coconut on the upper deck and the English Pub. Unlike on other ships the pub has good munchies you can order. I had several lunches there I think. The knee is fine... thanks. Surgery was not required, Rehab, naturopathic medicine and weight loss have worked miracles.
  7. My big savings were on lunches at Jamies, Giovanni's, and Chops. I saved some on the water package as well. Only on the upcoming Harmony cruise was I able to get a deal on internet which was what I was really hoping for. We have a family cruise and the internet was only a deal if you purchased 3 or 4 device package. Usually that is more than we need. Unfortunately, no other big savings for us the close up ones. I booked the UDP for Icon next November and there were a few deals for Labadee for December 2024 that I was able to take advantage of.
  8. To the OP's original question... Since there is no Starbucks the conversation about using the app or gift cards is moot.
  9. This is a live review I did Feb 2022. I trust it more than my memory to tell you about Odyssey. 🙂
  10. We had morning service on Navigator. He came and did our service in the morning including packing up the sofa bed. He came back while we were at dinner and set it back up for the evening.
  11. You will see it on the app but won't be able to reserve. There will be a sign up but not on the app. You go prior to the first session (usually 30 minutes) and sign up for a time. At least that is how it has been on other ships I have been on.
  12. We had the same cabin two floors down so I can't comment on the noise but I can give you and idea what it will look like from the inside. We loved this cabin. I love aft cabins. They have the best views. Bed placement should be the same.
  13. They do and you don't need to rent them... they let you borrow them without cost.
  14. Me too, we’ve had three cruises this year and the first two we were in a suite so unaffected by the change. The last one was on Navigator in August in an OV cabin with once daily service. Our cabin steward was amazing and went out of his way repeatedly for us. I do t expect that to be consistently repeated. We’ve got two weeks in December in standard balcony cabins. We’ll see how it is.
  15. I've been tracking cruise planner prices on my next 6 cruises for 23/24 since I booked them. Some I have been tracking for over a year. When I checked and marked them down in my spreadsheet everything was the same as it was prior to all previous sales with the exception of the internet. There was a very small increase in internet pricing in on the 2024 sailings. 2023 sailings were untouched. We just have until tomorrow to wait and find out. We'll see how it goes.
  16. That is interesting, I don't remember hearing that. That being said... I would think she would be safe with a July sailing.
  17. The visitor centre is nothing special but I can't imagine them not selling you a ticket right on the spot. The real traffic is on the trails. When we were there last I spent 15 minutes in the Visitor center max. The last time I was there we did it as part of a RCi tour because it included whale watching. When I return to Alaska, possibly 2025, I will do it self guided, like I'm recommending. That is how I did it the first time we were in Juneau. Even with 5 kids in tow you will be fine. Enjoy Mendenhall and save your money for a t-shirt souvenir. Or maybe a few extra drinks onboard to help you cope with 5 kids 🙂
  18. You can just do it on your own. If I remember right from my last two cruises there was a kiosk selling shuttle tickets to Mendenhall Glacier for about $25... They drop you off at the visitor center and that there was return trips offered every 30 minutes.
  19. Just did that. I scoped out and marked down the prices of all the things I have not booked for cruises coming up through 2024. We'll see if I save any money. 🙂
  20. You need to let people know what cruise and date. Price changes by ship and date.
  21. Actually we have a real world example to draw accurate conclusions from. NCL runs Pride of America doing constant 7 day Hawaii itineraries circumnavigating the islands. They are required and employ nothing but US citizens or green card holders. We did this cruise in 2022. I paid pretty much the same price for their smallest balcony cabin on a tiny ship with very limited entertainment and extremely mediocre service as I did for a crown loft suite on Oasis of the Seas. I couldn't find a single employee that would admit that they actually liked their job, most that I interacted with were on their first contract and those willing to speak freely said it was their last.. The notion that cruising could be as affordable paying US based wages to crew from 3rd world countries is nonsense. This is what will happen if you think paying US wages
