  1. I noticed that in his earlier post. Yes we are diamond. I'm a little annoyed about this but I'll survive. We'll see how it unfolds... Perhaps the first sailing has a higher percentage of D through P's than usual. You'll have to let me know what the letter says when you board in a few weeks.
  2. This s just what I needed. We’re boarding Harmony Dec 10 for our first ever B2B.
  3. Mea Cupla! You can get a decent hotel for under $200 at some times and at some locations 🙂 However, I still say cruising is a budget friendly way to travel, even at today's prices.
  4. I know that Netflix in Canada vs. Netflix in the USA and Netflix UK are all different. Each regions offerings vary by location. I know this because I have used them in each region and I am able to bounce back and forth between them from here in the US by using a VPN. I don't know how the NFL network works but I know my ESPN+ Subscription locks me out of watching NHL games if I forget to change my VPN from Canada to USA. So you are correct it varies by service.
  5. I don't care what anyone does... I just enjoy discussions about all things cruising. For those who are bothered by tipping threads there is a little red x up in the top corner of the screen. It is discussions like these that helped establish the baseline for my tipping practice and it threads like this that will go a long way towards changing it should it change.
  6. I agree Hamptons are decent hotels. I am Diamond with Hilton as well, as I almost always stay in their properties. However, if you want a desirable location with amenities then the price is definitely going to be higher. I can still cruise for the most part in a balcony room for just over $100 pppd and all my food and entertainment are thrown in to that package price. Edit: Most of my hotel stays are business related except for my pre cruise hotel stay of a night or two, a few times a year. I have one land based vacation planned in 2024 for Branson MO. It's is costing substantially more than any cruise I have booked in 2024.
  7. There are deals to be had out there if you look hard enough. I booked Harmony Dec 17/23 sailing back in mid May while everyone had started complaining about how high prices were. My TA had some group space left and I got the two of us in a CP balcony for about $1400 total...
  8. You can have one credit card per person... No problem.
  9. Absolutely... I was just looking to do something for a few days off back in October down in by the water in San Diego. Most decent places near the water are a minimum of $250 per night plus a parking fee plus a resort fee and doesn't include food, drinks or entertainment once you are there. In Kentucky yes, but rarely that cheap in tourist destinations like SoCal, South Florida or Hawaii.
  10. How come I only ever get $2 in free play? 🤯
  11. I just added prepaid grats to 8 of my upcoming cruises. Total of 55 nights x 2 people x $2 and I just saved $220. Last cruise, I tipped my cabin steward extra like I usually do even though it was only one service a day. He came in and set up the trundle bed for my GS each evening while we were at dinner after tearing down in the morning service. For that I felt justified in maintaining my current tipping protocol. The next few cruises it's just DW and I in the room. We'll see how I feel about tipping after each one of these. I know that my tipping isn't going to change with bartenders since I know that that gets me a direct and immediate benefit and the dining room staff is still performing the same tasks that they have always performed so I feel to continue to do the same with them. It'll just be the cabin steward that is on the bubble.
  12. No, you must add them to your invoice prior to Nov 11 and then they are payable at final payment.
  13. When this thread was first posted I went and looked at my two Harmony cruises and there was nothing to see... Now it appears if the casitas have been added to my cruise planner... I wonder what would happen if I booked one 🤣 Edit: I went back and looked again and it is actually only on my Dec 17/23 sailing. There is nothing to be found on the Dec. 10 sailing. 😕
  14. Good question! Without seen what exactly is being purchased it’s hard right know for certain.
  15. It doesn't work on Labadee unless you are particularly close to the ship.
  16. You will be charged roaming while at sea. Without seeing the fine print on the prepaid sim I can't tell you whether you will be charged anything while on land outside the US
  17. The need for secondary documents to re board in a port of call seem to vary by port as has been noted. I think I remember needing id in Grand Cayman as well. Mexico doesn't care. As a matter of fact the last time I crossed the border into Mexico at San Ysidro, Mexican authorities didn't even stop our car. As we slowed down the they simply waved us through.
  18. Beer is about $8 and Cocktails are $12 -14. There will be better prices coming up. Check out the sale starting the week of Thanksgiving in the US... The standard rule of thumb is 5 cocktails/wines a day along with a few waters and you come out a ahead.
  19. I would bring the bridging document regardless of option A or B. I don't she'll need it with option A but she probably will with option B.
  20. Haha yeah that would be the downside... Never thought about that. I suspect that is what would happen. That'll be an incentive to keep the higher priced booking.
