  1. @LACruiser88 can you share contact information for Shaun? We are planning a trip in 2025 and would love to make a note of it.
  2. I wrap my painters tape around an old gift card.
  3. I use one of these https://www.amazon.com/FC-Fancier-Dimmable-Bedside-Children-Nightlight/dp/B074YMKJ4S/ref=asc_df_B074YMKJ4S/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198101723026&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17030995028153865584&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1019457&hvtargid=pla-365476160631&psc=1
  4. I’ve seen a white & gold party on almost every cruise in the last year. Some were on formal nights and some were in addition to the normal number of formal nights. A couple have had a night with a “tropical” theme. That one seemed to involve wait staff and bar tenders wearing Aloha shirts. Very few guests participated.
  5. We have an annual policy with GeoBlue and a MedJet membership, In my opinion, a lot depends on whether you’ll have any other trips during the year. You might want to compare options on a site like insuremytrip or squaremouth
  6. Steamers and Planks are currently open on alternate evenings on the Caribbean Princess
  7. Yes. We spent a couple of nights in Anchorage then cruised to Vancouver out of Whittier. In Anchorage, we did a day tour to hike at the Matanuska glacier and then a transfer from Anchorage to Whittier that included a tour. We booked both of those with https://www.salmonberrytours.com/ and were very happy with them
  8. The porters can fill in a luggage tag when you drop off your bags. Of course you could also print them at your hotel before you leave for the ship if you are staying at the port city overnight
  9. I think the location of Amalfi is inconvenient and would pick either Capri or Santorini.
  10. For me, any ship that is small enough for the full inside passage would work, but I would probably focus on itinerary after that. Glacier Bay would be a must and Hubbard Glacier a priority for me. I definitely agree that land first is best. Starting in Fairbanks and heading south was the option that seemed to give us the best chance to see all we wanted to. Our priority on land was Denali so McKinley and Denali lodges were musts. I picked a Princess Lodges rail tour that was completely separate from my cruise and loved it. There was no bus travel nor were there lots of organized group excursions or planned meals. We could pick the excursions we wanted at each lodge or book something on our own. To me it was the best of all worlds - hotels, train tickets and transfers arranged, leave luggage outside your door each departure morning and find it in your room at the next destination but spend each day as you wish. To me, traveling every leg by train was way better than doing half by bus on a land tour. https://www.princesslodges.com/alaska-rail-tours/learn/ I chose this unescorted 6 night tour from Fairbanks to Anchorage and would highly recommend it. https://www.princesslodges.com/alaska-tours/itinerary-3ts/?from_search_query=dG91clR5cGU9ZXhwbG9yZXImc2VhcmNoT25seT0w#3TS
  11. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the Journey View activities timeline in the app depending on how soon you are sailing. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise.
  12. So sorry to hear this but hopefully it will all work out smoothly!
  13. Yes, you can get tokens for both detergent and the washers and dryers at passenger services.
  14. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the Journey View activities timeline in the app. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise. Formal nights are never the first or last night.
  15. The Travel Summary hasn’t been updated but you can check in the packages section on the app to see what you have included
  16. 1. The Smart Casual dress code is acceptable even on formal nights. The “no shorts” rule is sometimes not enforced but can be. “Guest attire should be in keeping with what they would wear to a nice restaurant at home. Skirts/dresses, slacks, blouses, and sweaters for women, Pants and collared or dress shirts for men. Pool or beach attire, shorts, ball caps or jeans with fraying and/or holes are not welcomed in the dining room. Shoes must be worn.” 2. You can always just turn up at the main dining room. Only you know how important getting a reservation at a specific date and time in a particular specialty restaurant is to you. It wouldn’t be a priority for me. 3. There are no reservations for shows. The app can populate as early as a couple of months ahead of sailing or as late as the day of boarding. 4. Your “travel summary” will show when boarding is for your itinerary. Usually it’s not until at least 10:30. You can find it when you are logged into the website in the same area where you go to print luggage tags. 5. The app and your medallion make it possible to order food or drinks delivered to you anywhere on the ship. Also, all Princess ships have self service laundry which can be very useful on longer trips.
  17. Kale is available but so is a classic Caesar salad
  18. You must bring proof of the negative results. Details are here https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/au-cruises/
  19. Royal Caribbean has recently added non-smoking casinos on their Oasis class ships.
  20. Looks like Planks will be open this evening on the Caribbean. Neither were open on the day we sailed. Not sure about our second evening.
  21. The info is here https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f
  22. The cost for gratuity and internet is about $31 per day. It would take spending $25 ($29.50 after 18% gratuity) on beverages to come out ahead. A specialty coffee, two bottles of water or soft drinks, and a glass of wine would get you there.
  23. I am on board and haven’t seen or heard anything about them opening. Will try to keep watching
  24. Zumba is being offered free at 9:00 am on sea days.
