  1. If they store it for you, just as they would liquor bought in a port, there is no corkage fee. That said, I have offered wine at the desk where they collect alcohol when arriving back at the ship and had them tell me not to bother. They may just let you take it to your cabin.
  2. I keep everything on Google drive but really important things are saved directly on my phone as photos or as attachments to emails. I've had Guest Services just ask me to email the gift cards saved as photos to them and they have also used an iPad to take their own photo of the document on my phone.
  3. Yes, but the stand alone beverage packages are more expensive than the fare packages. The Plus beverage package alone is $64.99/day and the Premium is $84.99/day. An 18% service charge is also added to each of them. I can’t imagine that making sense even if only one passenger in a cabin wants drinks, they are paying $17/day above the Plus fare package. That $17 daily plus $16 crew appreciation for the second passenger plus $15 for internet for the second passenger is $48. For an extra $12 per day both passengers could have the benefits of the Plus fare package. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/food-and-dining/beverages/
  4. They were available for free on the Caribbean Princess in August.
  5. Document requirements depend on your nationality, itinerary, and other factors. For example, if one adult is traveling with one or more minors, Princess requires everyone in the party to have a passport. You can see Princess’ Travel Document requirements here https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/pre-cruise/prepare-for-your-cruise/
  6. I think the times vary in accuracy. We booked whale watching privately with Jayleen’s Alaska and were able to choose the time we wanted to go as we were the first to book for that day. Her boats only take 6 people and we had a fantastic experience. I can’t recommend them highly enough https://jayleensalaska.com/
  7. Reputable tour companies will offer a refund if your ship misses a port and should be quick to give you an answer about having to cancel due to illness. They also offer the same guarantee to get you to the next port as Princess does if you are so delayed that they have to sail without you. I consider how far I am traveling from the port, where the next port is, and whether it’s easy and safe to get to the meeting point when I book privately. For example, flying for a multi night trip to another country would be something so complicated that I’d only do as a ship excursion. Most things in Alaska are perfectly reasonable to book privately
  8. I’ve seen people turned away for trying to wear shorts in the MDR several times in the last year. No one can predict whether the no shorts policy will be enforced on any ship on any given night. If eating in the MDR is important to a passenger, they should plan accordingly.and make sure to pack pants.
  9. I meant that I wondered if the police were asking for the passport information when they reported them stolen.
  10. A lot of staff are stuck when they are presented with something out of the ordinary. Their instructions are adequate for the vast majority of customers i.e. state issued ID or DL, and they are never briefed on all possibilities. There’s certainly no rule that says a tourist from another country can’t buy alcohol, but without a manager or owner to make an exception, only US drivers can buy drinks. It’s frustrating.
  11. We’re they not asked for the passport numbers etc when they reported them stolen?
  12. While your actual PP number doesn't appear on a PP Card, all other pertinent information and numbers do. If you need to report a stolen passport, it is helpful to have the passport number, issue and expiration dates. The passport card is not going to have that information. The best advice is to have a copy of the passport available. An electronic version saved as a photo on a phone, attached to an email, or in a Google Drive folder are practical suggestions.
  13. I can add - Line dancing, ballroom dance lessons, ice carving demonstrations, towel folding demonstrations, fruit and vegetable carving demos, cooking demonstration and galley tours, wine tasting, games like golf putting etc
  14. On itineraries outside of Australia and New Zealand, I believe there are dedicated smoking lounges on Princess ships although I hear there is not one showing on the plans for the new Sun Princess. My point is that they are appropriate smoking areas. The casino is not.
  15. My first Celebrity cruise was on the Century in 2001. I have very fond memories of what a fantastic experience it was.
  16. I absolutely agree that adults have the right to smoke if they choose. The issue here is a smoking policy that exposes non-smokers to secondhand smoke. If Princess feels that indoor smoking areas are needed, they should be dedicated spaces not shared spaces like the casino, especially since it is open to other public spaces.
  17. I watched people in shorts turned away at the MDR several times in the last year. If eating there is important to a passenger, they should be prepared and pack long pants.
  18. We are both Elite and only got one mini bar set-uo. Nice idea though!!!!!
  19. As long as you meet the requested dress code for smart casual nights, you can always go to the MDR. https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/pre-cruise/what-to-pack-for-a-cruise/
  20. It may be possible to get through to an office and get an appointment, but it's still a huge hassle to have to travel to one. There aren't that many. Having to perhaps book a flight and lose at least a full workday to get to an appointment to renew a passport seems like a huge waste of time and money. I stand by my statement that it seems absurd to me that we can't improve this system.
  21. I was talking more about business travelers who cannot stop working for two months while they wait for a passport to be renewed even if it is expedited.
  22. They had already traveled to Greece to board the ship. My understanding is that trip cancellation would apply in that case but again, they should check with their travel insurance provider, credit card company etc to see if they have any coverage for any of the losses due to this crime. Their TA may be able to offer advice on next steps if they sold them a package including the insurance
