It was very cold in North East England in the winters of late 1950s and 1960s. We enjoyed our port visit to Cobh on Independence of the seas in May 2018. We were staying in Dublin New year 1999 and New year 2020 and have also stayed in Belfast.

I'm pleased for you. Heart attacks and strokes as well as being serious health conditions massively increase holiday insurance premiums for life and statins can help prevent them.

When I was a child we had deep snow every winter. Now we just get days of continuous rain with our milder temperatures now.

In hindsight 5 years ago I wish I had ignored friends advising against Statins because of their side effects as it might have prevented my heart attack a year later.

I agree. Insurance expect you to tell them everything and if you are waiting for a diagnosis when renewing they won't renew until you get a diagnosis. After my heart attack we rang insurance and they cancelled our annual policy immediately and I had to insure with a specialist medical insurance company. A friend had a mini stroke and their insurance cancelled their policy immediately. I understand at the time I was told doctor's were encouraged to get people on to statins. If you can it pays to actually ask to see what is on your medical history at the doctor's because if you claim insurance will do this.

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear this. On our 14 night Canary Islands cruise on Iona in November there was an emergency ambulance with blue lights on at every port stop.

Insurance asked this on our renewal but they didn't know what number was classed as raised only if doctor had said it was. 5 or under is okay. I remember 5 years ago my cholesterol was 4 and doctor said it was raised from 3.5 the previous year and I needed statins. I refused statins at that time but a statin was put on my medical record anyway even though I didn't get it. I have been on statins as required after my heart attack 4 years ago and my reading is 2.5.
