  1. Based on your photos a lot of work has been since I was there beginning of September. When I was there they didn't have a roof on the walkway yet, that area was roped off. I had no idea the project was as big as the info/photos you provided. Should look amazing and be much easier to walk around town too.
  2. For now they have golf carts. The line can be long depending on how many ships at port.
  3. We are getting a cold spell tonight and tomorrow too. We had 90 earlier this week then mostly mid 80s and dropping to 62 as our high tomorrow. I think we are back to the 80s next week
  4. We recently rented a standard scooter from specialneedsatsea.com (they had the best pricing for our scenario). It fit thru standard door no problem. The problem was trying to open the door yourself when on a scooter, best to have someone there to assist with the door. if you get an accessible cabin most, if not all ships, have a button you press that will open the door, plus other conveniences in the bathroom, closet and I think I heard they have a lower bed too.
  5. Prior to my new job, for 25+ years in the mortgage biz and reviewing bank statements for young couples that want to buy a home and see all the frivolous spending on daily trips to Starbucks, fast food, constant purchases on amazon, phones, streaming, cable tv, etc etc) it makes me realize how frugal (Cheap) I am! But hey if that gets me on more cruises, I'll keep doing it😁
  6. Already looks so much better being opened up. This will look great when done. What is their expected timeline to have the project complete? Sorry if you said and I missed it.
  7. I was on a catamaran excursion and saw a woman whip out a bunch of baggies she filled up with cheese, lunch meat and cookies from WJ for her family. They do have cartons of cereal and milk and various fruits you could grab and go but no yogurt containers.
  8. We had booked jet skis on one of our visits and had choppy waters and didn't feel it was safe for us first timers so we got full refund.
  9. There are many nice areas with free loungers and umbrellas if you don't want to spend extra. If it rains all day then you would get a refund but if it is a shower for an hour or so then no refund. I have been to cococay in Jan and the weather is usually low 80s, Ocean temp can be a bit cool.
  10. Once you are in the terminal check in lines move very quick. Guess they are done with separate lines, except key, suites and pinnacles.
  11. Exactly!! While on a recent sailing on Oasis that had 6500 +/- passengers with just over 2000 kids I went to Next Cruise desk and said "I need to book a sailing on Serenade there are way too many people on this ship'..
  12. Another great idea is bring scotch tape. Then when rolling, stuffing items into the bag instead of tying the top and loosing space I tape it shut. Then tape on the form with list of items to it. I take a photo of the list with my phone so I can make sure I got everything back.
  13. $10 off wash n fold. Normally $34.99 When we do b2bs I bring small bottle of woolite and handwash bathing suites, bras, some blouses and use their wash n fold for pjs, underwear, socks, some tshirts.
  14. Sorry to hear your Alaska cruise was cut short. Hope you both feel better soon.
  15. Very sorry for the loss of your Husband. It is really nice to hear that Royal was very thoughtful and compassionate.
