Can Celebrity “Retreat” on Retreat Changes
TeeRick replied to GBeason884's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Not sure how they can reverse and go back to individual butlers for Sky Suites. Quite a few have been eliminated and some have been reassigned. -
Change in "Thank You" for booking this cruise email
TeeRick replied to TrueCruiseaholic's topic in Celebrity Cruises
LLP now stands for Long Lost President. -
@markeb as I have posted we have been spending our time and money on many more land vacations like what you are doing. And vacation home rentals. It was a short time ago that we took multiple cruises a year, mostly with Celebrity but also with RCCL. This year we took one (Equinox). RCG is making it pretty easy for us right now to become less addicted to cruising on their ships. It has opened our eyes to many other non-cruise vacation options. Enjoy your trips!

Except long-term stability is not their issue right now. For RCG corporation, it is short term stability and debt reduction. And stock price. Quarter by quarter. Total bean counter approach. Survival. Evolution of the brand and business approach. They will get back to long-term stability perhaps at some point.

Short answer: We are E+ and D+. Very far away from Zenith and from Pinnacle. Actively Looking elsewhere. No other Celebrity cruise booked. More detailed answer: Our last Celebrity cruise was on Equinox earlier this year in a CS. It was fine except it was during the unannounced Oceanview Buffet dinner cutbacks. That did not really affect us but it bothered us to be truthful. We used the last of our FCC on that cruise. We did not book another at that time because of some medical issues and timing of procedures was uncertain. Not because of issues with Celebrity. We have no future Celebrity or RCCL cruises booked. And will not book them at this point. Actively researching Silversea, Regent, and MSC YC. Maybe Princess. Our criteria for choosing is based upon value/inclusions for the price (for suites), acceptable itinerary, and timing. We have also realized the value in land-based vacations and frankly that is what we have been doing.

MSC Voyagers Club has a status match program that you can apply for. You need to send them some documentation. I don't know of others.

Retreat Guest use of Blu and MDR(s) - Edge Class

You answered your own question. You can also book Specialty Dining. Plenty of options on Ascent. Have a great cruise! -
@phoenix_dream it is not really a factor if the Celebrity execs or RCG execs or anybody in the corporation read these boards or not. Why would they care about the many of us and our opinions about the cutbacks and high prices? Why are we assuming that they don't know exactly what they are doing? And why are we assuming that our posts can educate them? The only thing they will respond to eventually is less bookings and losing money to their competition. As long as everybody here and elsewhere keeps booking and sailing (while complaining) then they will not change direction. The Celebrity we knew and loved pre-pandemic is gone. We need to enjoy the new product or find another one to spend our money. I personally am choosing the latter.

Thanks! Looking for a current hopefully more detailed comparison of YC to the Retreat on Celebrity.

What type of cabin? Looking forward to your comparison to Celebrity. Have a great cruise!

Maybe in the past. Many loyal suite cruisers are actively booking other lines.

One of the main bonuses of being a 1st time Celebrity cruiser
TeeRick replied to CruisinShips's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We have sailed the CS a number of times on S-Class ships like Eclipse. You will enjoy it. You will still get dedicated butler service - a number of the complaints you see here are are about Sky Suites. You will get excellent food and service in your daily dining venue, Luminae. IMO it is a step above the RCCL version Coastal Kitchen. So ignore us here and just enjoy your cruise! Look forward to hearing from you again! -
Celebrity's new "All Inclusive" 2023 style
TeeRick replied to Keys Kathy's topic in Celebrity Cruises
In a financial manner yes. The leveraging they needed to do during the Covid shutdown resulted in massive debt and the holders of this debt in reality are the new "owners". -
Dear @aml3679 You will be on a cruise and please enjoy your celebration. Congrats! The butler change will likely not make very much difference to you as you have a lot of other things to enjoy like dining in Luminae!

Nothing in this article states that any Celebrity ship will be refurbished.

I have to disagree. There is only one CEO and that is of the RCG, Jason Liberty. The rest of them are Presidents of their cruise lines. Michael Bayley holds a title of President and CEO of RCCL but the CEO part is pretty meaningless in the corporate structure. What is most meaningful is that LH Bethge is a career operations person at RCCL chosen to run Celebrity as President. An Operations executive will carry out the orders from the top (RCG) and that is exactly what we are seeing.
