  1. Ken we are doing 12 nights Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands next year. Great itinerary. We got an aft Grand Suite on RCCL. Very good price compared to an equivalent CS on Celebrity.
  2. Mentioned this previously for those like us that have cruised in Celebrity suites for years. We have a different plan at least for the time being. Booked mid-level suites on RCCL next two cruises. Some here will gasp! But we like it. We are D+ and get drinks and other benefits, and can dine in Coastal Kitchen and use the Suite Lounge. Kind of like Luminae and the Retreat. But less expensive. No butler but who cares.
  3. Have you been back to St. Petersburg? We went a few years ago before the war when it was open to us on cruises. We thought it was beautiful and loved the historical buildings and churches and of course The Hermitage. Good luck with your Bills!
  4. The operative phrase here is "years ago".
  5. This is a more of an historical difference IMO. Just giving an example of how context enters into the discussion of this thread. Back to THE ships.
  6. Here is a current important example beyond cruising where this all actually matters. Ukraine - a country in eastern Europe. The Ukraine - a territory of the former Soviet Union. Many Russians still use 'the' to imply ownership by Russia. https://time.com/12597/the-ukraine-or-ukraine/
  7. We were in Grand Cayman last year on a Celebrity ship (Equinox) and all bars were closed in port except the Pool Bar. It is a Grand Cayman thing - at least for RCCL and Celebrity ships.
  8. Interesting. I think Anthem is most like Edge on Celebrity. We sailed Anthem and Edge and found them to be designed in a very similar style, although Anthem is larger in occupancy (4200 passengers vs. 3000 passengers D.O.). But not much difference in terms of physical size and gross tonnage.
  9. We are in a Crown Loft in Feb and want to reserve specialty dining for dinner on Valentines Day. Will I have to wait to do this onboard? Will the Suite Concierge do this for me (if they contact me in advance)? Thank You.
  10. This is a drop in the bucket compared to the uneaten fruit that gets wasted (and disposed) in the Windjammer buffet every single day. Same for a lot of other perishable items.
  11. Oh you just beat me to it!
  12. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions, Mr. Elvis1209. But I think I will still refer to your famous namesake legend as The Elvis.
  13. Probably true enough. But seek true medical advice from her doctor and medical professionals at Celebrity (for what is allowed and not) about THC/CBD alternatives for pain - that is my key point. Not advice from the posters here.
  14. Funny but true. Go to the Windjammer and "BYOF"!🍓
  15. I never implied customer service rep.
  16. Just saying that nobody here can definitively answer the medical question which is very important to her. We just spout off regulations which may be all true but no different than Celebrity stock answer. I never suggested calling a customer service rep. I think a connection to a medical professional within Celebrity corporate or RCG corporate might be helpful and definitive. Probably a no, but at least an honest try. Sorry I surprised you with my advice which maybe was not explained that well initially.
  17. @kitty9 Best wishes for your sister and glad she is doing better. Hopefully you will all have a great cruise. Instead of listening to the range of noise and responses here, if it were me I would just call Celebrity and explain the situation. You never know what happens but I would be up front about it. If the answer is NO, at least you tried. And there may still be time to get the oncologist to prescribe something else for the cruise duration. Best of luck!
  18. Drug sniffing dogs for one......
  19. I hope and think you are correct. The only way to get the suite prices lowered would be for Celebrity to have a difficult time filling them.
  20. The switch to the non-dedicated Retreat butler team for Sky Suites has been discussed to death here. Even as Celebrity marketing continues to promote the team concept as "better" (to poke us in the eye I guess). If you really want and need a personalized, dedicated butler, the reality is you now have 2 options. You either need to pay a lot more for a CS suite or above on Celebrity or choose another cruise line with a suite class that includes a dedicated butler. Continuing to pay for Sky Suites and pining away for a true butler is an exercise in frustration that will ruin your cruise. I did not use my butler much in many years of sailing suites on Celebrity, and my current direction has been to sail other lines' suites at a better price and without a butler. No big deal for me anyway.
  21. I've jumped to suites on Royal the next two cruises. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
  22. We were in a CL suite Deck 17 Harmony. It was really nice and very convenient to everything (CK and SL). We totally enjoyed Harmony. In Feb we will be in a CL suite deck 17 on Symphony. Looking forward to it. Have a great cruise!
  23. Jack is adorable and probably hard to leave behind. What breed?
  24. Yes we use Flexsafe too on cruise excursions. Never used it on the ship and no reason to really. I know it only takes one dishonest person but never had a problem on any Celebrity cruise. Never had anything missing from my cabin. Now I have absent-minded moments and have left reading glasses, phones, seapass cards, etc on dining tables or at bars on the ship. But the crew or honest passengers have always turned them in or they have been there when I go back.
  25. But was it the same quality or lower than a couple of years ago when maybe you paid $10?
