  1. Does anybody play these trivia games because of the prizes awarded? Probably not.
  2. You can find menus for your cruise on the Celebrity app. They might not be final yet but you can get an idea.
  3. But isn't everything these days all about a small but vocal group getting their way in everything? The majority seems to no longer be a factor. Broadcast and social media and marketing and corporations and governments all seem to cater to the small vocal groups over the majority. I am accustomed to this these days. So it would be no surprise if the vaping minority on ships gets their way.
  4. I remember when restaurants and airplanes had open but separated smoking sections. That did not really work out. I also remember (in the 80's) when a large corporation I worked for actually built full enclosures for smoking with their own ventilation in the cafeteria. We called them fishbowls. Some airports did the same thing. I guess we as a society are destined to repeat the past without learning from it!
  5. @davekathyto your point. It is interesting. This entire thread has been very negative about vaping in the casino - and IMO, rightly so. Anti-vaping and anti-smoking emotions aside, are we close to understanding WHY Celebrity started this "experiment" on those two ships? There are a lot of comments here about enhanced casino revenue as an assumption, probably a good one too. So is that what they are actually measuring in this experiment? Or a possible decrease in casino revenue from those who object and stay out of the casino? Also what is the role of demographics? It would be expected that most of us middle-age to older folks on CC would react negatively. But what about the demographic (say 21-40 yrs?) that might like vaping? Did they give a lot of previous feedback to Celebrity for the case of allowing them to vape, thus launching the experiment? So is it future revenue from these folks (target customers) with the poor assumption that the rest of us would not object?
  6. They will provide the distilled water for free.
  7. I didn’t say no impact. We are just a small portion of the feedback. It is estimated that CC members are 5% or so of the cruising population. And then only a small portion of that will send the vaping emails. And many of those unlike @Georgia_Peaches will not be onboard one of the impacted ships. So less relevant to the immediate issue for Celebrity’s “test”. So better for passengers on these ships and sailings to provide direct feedback IMO.
  8. This is not “soliciting”. It is a discussion amongst passengers who might or might not be bothered by the vaping. So it is feedback to officers on the ship as you also suggest.
  9. Quite a few threads on this whole topic and rightly so. Even though a number of us CC members emailed Celebrity Executive Office, we tend to overstate our importance I think. The actual number of complaints from here is pretty small in the big picture. But any cruisers on the ships involved are very important to state their objections while on board and in the post-cruise surveys. That will have a larger impact IMO. If you are on board these ships in this trial period, please talk to others on your ship about sending Celebrity feedback while on board. Thank You!
  10. Don't worry. Celebrity loves you (and your money).
  11. … You're nobody 'til somebody loves you You're nobody 'til somebody cares You may be king, you may possess the world and it's gold But gold won't bring you happiness when you're growing old The world still is the same, you never change it As sure as the stars shine above You're nobody 'til somebody loves you So find yourself somebody to love … The world still is the same, you never change it As sure as the stars shine above Well, you're nobody 'til somebody loves you So find yourself somebody to love
  12. It is for quite a few a personal or lifestyle choice, not necessarily a financial one.
  13. I have occasionally seen a person or two vaping at outside bars on Celebrity ships over the past few years. Although not allowed by the rules, it seems to be tolerated.
  14. Would anyone pay an upcharge for "better" pizza in the OVC? No I have not seen this practice. But just asking.
  15. To be clear, I am against upcharges in the MDR in general. I know "complimentary" obviously means included with your cruise fare. I think upcharges in the MDR for certain items will lead to upcharges for more and more items over time. A slippery slope for sure. This is yet another reason I would not pay any MDR upcharges supporting this practice. If I really wanted for example the crawfish (ehh Lobster), I would go to Murano instead and enjoy the whole experience there. Yes more expensive but I would normally go anyway on a cruise. Again just me. It is a situational choice as others have pointed out.
  16. Yes understood. Just saying what I would do.
  17. The point from my perspective. If I wanted any of these premium selections I would go to a Specialty Restaurant. But they are not removing the main option for complimentary dining. Where do you see that? Just charging extra for certain items.
  18. This is a test program on a couple of ships. As many people as possible should email the Celebrity Executive Office and object (if they do). But the guest comments cards post-cruise are very important to state these objections. Perhaps even more so.
  19. If this program ever comes back- what would be the point of the upcharge in the MDR? Just book a Specialty Restaurant instead.
  20. Sounds like Eastern Caribbean and a great itinerary. Enjoy!
  21. Are you stopping at Grand Cayman? If so, most of the bars on the ship will be closed - except the pool bar. But you can plan in advance.
  22. Possible that the President and senior leadership are all vapers.
  23. Coke Zero is the way to go. Especially with some rum.
  24. This is what I remember too. The option to pay for the suite program for others traveling with you if in a RS or PH suite. But a very limited program.
  25. Not sure I understand. Why would a partial refurbishment before your cruise be a negative thing to you?
