  1. If they can track your cruises, your deposits, all your other cruising info, they can certainly track and list your FCC's.
  2. There were several threads when this was first announced if you do a search. Both on the RCCL board and the Celebrity board.
  3. Yes agreed! I cannot understand a single reason why they could not just list them in your online account when you sign in. Just very weird.
  4. Thinking about your point. Other times maybe would be inconvenient too. During the day there are excursions. After dinner there are shows. So around dinner time everybody could work around it by adjusting the time/place of their dinner that day.
  5. Den, the OP said they had a travel agent for this cruise. That is a reason everybody is confused. They did not want to address the problem pre-cruise by being on hold for "two hours" with Celebrity. But isn't that the role of your travel agent? And of course the beating up comment has drawn negative reaction.
  6. Bo that is very nice. Many here would say that you are also even tempered and gracious too. Do you save my posts too? Perhaps in your archive called "trash"?😀
  7. Bo I remember those days and those posts. And of course I fondly remember member vtcruising.😇
  8. Sorry Spif but I'm confused. Was your case for the Prosecution or the Defense? Regardless it will be cross examined.
  9. love it! But sometimes my DW gets to my cocktail first for a sip.
  10. You would need to have virgin cocktails. Not for you from what I know about you!
  11. This is one of two separate ongoing threads about IV cabins. Both with the same posters saying the same things. The other starts "Surely it is just a window". Maybe they should be merged? I understand there are new members out there seeking info, but we have had thousands of posts on IV cabins here on CC for the past several years since EDGE was launched (or before). Yes I guess I can just ignore the topic. Thank You. Edit: Actually a third thread now on IV's called "View from outside".
  12. We stayed in a CS on Edge. The balcony was a bit narrow but held two armchairs (no footrests) and a full size table with 2 chairs. No lounge chairs.
  13. Den I never pictured you as a Kumihimo guy.😀
  14. OK I guess I give people too much credit, particularly Celebrity cruise passengers who I assume are a bit more sophisticated. Also see the attached links as I was very curious on meanings. I think Celebrity used Infinite Veranda and not Infinite Balcony for a reason. On their web site (under EDGE for example) they use the word "terrace" for the outside portions of all suites. For other classes (IV, SV, AQ, CC) they use the word "veranda". Maybe they use "balcony" on older ships? On Reflection, they use "veranda" for all categories. Not sure if "terrace" is correct either. Probably a lot of marketing people debated all these terms for years. As marketing people do. Is it misleading? Is most marketing misleading to some extent? I am not looking to debate this stuff. Just observations. https://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-verandah-and-balcony/ https://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-balcony-and-vs-terrace/
  15. To this day I have not seen an explanation as to why Celebrity went in this IV direction for E-Class. But although not for everybody, plenty of people seem to like or love the IV and the ships have plenty of passengers. So they had their reasons and I assume it was a big decision for them and it was well researched. We have not sailed an IV so some here would remind me not to be negative about them and I have tried to be neutral. My DW loves a real balcony and when we sailed EDGE it was in a CS. On E-class we would sail in a suite or an aft sunset veranda. I would prefer to not say who is "smart" but rather think that many folks do not know about the info here on CC. But really, almost everybody will do some type of search and get information. Why would I care one way or another? It is pretty hard to be "duped" these day for most doing basic research.
  16. Ok no problem let's call it that. But you would still not sail this type of cabin on MSC or Celebrity regardless of the name it is called, right? Some people do very much enjoy it and others do not like it. At this point it is much too late to change E-Class ship design. So those not liking the IV concept just need to pick a different ship with traditional balconies. I agree that Celebrity could be more upfront about just what the IV is as some Celebrity newbies might get a surprise if they signed up for a real balcony. But most people do their research (even newbies) before a cruise purchase. And most can change their mind until final payment too.
  17. I would imagine that some Friends of Dorothy are also Friends of Bill.
  18. I had no idea about the meaning of the pineapple symbol. It is impossible to keep up with this stuff!
  19. Hopefully they planned for this and routine maintenance will do the trick to keep them operational.
  20. I am totally ruined by the cruise experience no matter what cabin category. Other types of vacations rarely are as satisfying.
  21. LOL. At your meeting can you find me a letter too? I am a straight, fat, retired Caucasian guy. SFRCG?😃
  22. A million new cases a day? That would be a stretch but I guess it could happen right after the holidays like it did in early Jan 2022. That is why I have decided never to cruise in COVID peak periods after TGiving and Christmas. https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/us-reports-least-11-mln-covid-cases-day-shattering-global-record-2022-01-11/
  23. Celebrity probably does not officially partner with DI or its various versions on board but who knows if they get a kick back from them since the shopping talks always seem to mention them. It is bad enough that they partner with Park West on board.
