  1. I thought of a hysterical idea for my residents. I'm an Activity Director for Retirement Living residents in a 55+ community. I'm going to create a YouTube video called "What Activity Directors Do While On A Cruise Vacation" and highlight all the crazy activities we do, including one you WON'T find us anywhere near! It'll be things like "We zipline" or "We hang out with other Activity Directors"!
  2. At the very least, we'll stay up until midnight to get the check-in time slot as early as possible. After that, we log off and complete the rest of the check-in the next day.
  3. I cruised out of NJ on Anthem in April. It was HORRIBLE. We had to wait over 2 hours in line IN THE COLD WITHOUT JACKETS! We were not aware we would be waiting outside, otherwise we wouldn't have packed the jackets in our checked luggage. With that said, we hopped on the app and we were able to do the eMuster Drill while waiting in line. Once we got on (which was a breeze once we made it through the door since we filled out our check-in information online before we left), all we had to do was show the crew member at the muster station our app and then they signed off on us having completed the drill.
  4. Let me know how you like it, I'm going on Oasis in October!
  5. You should be fine. I cruised in April, fully vaccinated and boosted. The booster was given in September 2021. I'm not eligible for another booster and it was never questioned for me.
  6. It's anyone's guess at this point and it's not only up to Royal. Royal has to work with their partners in other countries to see what the requirements are for various ports.
  7. Not necessarily. It depends on two things: 1.) where you're sailing (to comply with that country's requirements) and 2.) the length of the cruise (any cruise 6 nights or longer still requires pre-cruise testing)
  8. Contact the Special Needs department to see if they can accommodate her needs.
  9. You can try but don't get your hopes up. I've waited until getting onboard to book before and the tours were sold out.
  10. I would check the website first to see if you even need a test. Royal just announced new testing guidelines and I suspect Celebrity will follow.
  11. In terms of the crowds, nobody can really answer that, but if you're cruising during school vacation week, it's a given it'll be busier.
  12. I'm taking my residents to a wine vineyard this weekend, I got to see the place last weekend. It's also an event space with a Bistro and a wine cellar. They do free tours on the weekends.
  13. I've been cruising since I was 5 (I'm now 34) and can count on ONE HAND how many times I was sick on a ship. I can count using ONE FINGER how many times I was seasick. You can pick up some OTC Dramamine, I would suggest the low- or non-drowsy one. DO NOT TAKE IT until you need it. Ask your pharmacist where you can find it. I take it with me on every cruise. I was even on a boat cruise recently and took it. Guess who didn't need it, despite the Canal being rough? Most folks didn't take it....guess which ones almost regretted it! It's always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Also, get a stateroom on a low deck, midship, that will help A LOT!
  14. Scooters are allowed, but make sure you call Royal first and let them know what's happening. They might be able to get her priority embarkation and debarkation.
  15. Great, I hope it works out for you. Just keep an open mind, as things have changed a lot in the past 3 years.
  16. Everyone gets it, ignore it. My niece and I recently had to cancel a cruise due to a positive test and even though we canceled it already, I still got emails asking me to register her for her pre-cruise testing.
  17. Yes we did, in addition to OBC. We immediately applied the FCC to our October cruise, which brought the price down A LOT! We only had to pay an extra $40 and that included an upgrade to a balcony.
  18. So, I've been going to Top Tier events since I was 6. On Radiance/Vision class ships, they were usually held in the Theater or Sky Lounge On Voyager class, I believe they were held in the Promonade I just got off Anthem (Quantum class) and it was held in Two70 Ask me again for Oasis class ships in October, as I haven't been on that class yet.
  19. I do, having recently been through the same thing. It's quite simple: they won't be let on because they're a close contact.
  20. Sort of same boat here, just replace Diamond with Emerald and 2 points with 4 points and you'll get my situation.
  21. How did this happen at my home port this weekend? https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/cruise-ship-strikes-fishing-boat-near-nantucket/2794495/
  22. 77! I'm getting our YouTube Channel up and running for reviews!
