I do wonder who we are dressing up for. Quite honestly, I wear a dress, not long, or black trousers mostly. That is what I would normally wear to go out for dinner. I don't do the long ball gown stuff. It does seem a bit outlandish in this day and age. Smart casual should be enough. not shorts though.
Agree Harry. We sailed on Azura when she was quite new. Dreadful plumbing problems. Soaking carpets outside the public loos and quite a few other things.
Goodness, just looked at Aurora & Arcadia for April and May 2024. Unimpressed indeed. October not much better. Prices are well up interestingly. We normally pay around the £75ppnn mark for an inside. These are £94ppnn. I would pay it for something interesting, but they are just not!
Goodness that would drive me crazy. I would have to get off at each port. And I'm 75 and other half is 83. Whole point of the cruise for us is getting to different ports.
Well, have to say I've looked at the only 2 ships I would sail on, Aurora and Arcadia and I won't be doing any of them. Nothing new in the itineraries.
I also suffer badly with IBS and also diverticular disease. Quite common in the over 50s. So guess what I lie, even if I have had a loose stomach that very day. I once had to go to the medical unit on Arcadia after we left Newfoundland. as soon as I uttered the "d" word, I was ushered into a room and question about noro. Then they realized I had diverticulitis and I was on a drip for half a day full of antibiotics.
So I shall continue to lie about any possible symptom I have.
Let's face it, they didn't go very fast before this the oil price. I have steamed along at 12 knots on Aurora because the next port is only a short distance.
Just been speaking to a couple of people on FB who are just off Aurora. They had no problem ordering wine and bottles were kept for the next night even on Freedom dining, so obviously it's easier on the smaller ship.
I am finding it difficult to believe that if you say you had a cough that was not Covid in the last 2 weeks, you are refused boarding! What about those who tick a box in error?
Not according to what I read further back. And walking round the ship carrying a bottle of wine is not nice. So after dinner you have to carry the bottle back to your cabin. The fridges are useless, so the following night, you have a half empty bottle of warm white wine to take to the bar and then into dinner?
