  1. All of this assumes that there are any excursions showing for the future cruise! We booked a cruise for April 2024 whilst onboard in Feb/March 2023. No excursions were listed for the future cruise!
  2. If any... I know I 'opened the door', but please let's not start a debate about the risks from, or side-effects of, vaccines.
  3. What makes you say that they wouldn't accept this? Plus... SA is only insists on YF Certificates if you have recently been to country where YF is endemic. We flew in from London last February and were not asked for our YF certificates on landing. Azamara were also somewhat disorganised about checking vaccination certificates on embarkation, and later during the cruise. On the Cape Town to Lisbon cruise (Feb/Mar 2023) there were guests who were not asked for Certification, there were those with forged Certificates, and there were those who were not allowed to leave the ship at at least one port-of-call.
  4. I am wondering what vaccinations are likely to be a problem. I know that South Africa is strict about their Yellow Fever policy, but if the cruises are travelling westwards, this may not be an issue, because the South Africa Yellow Fever vaccination requirement applies only if one is travelling from a country where Yellow Fever is endemic. I realise that as one progress northwards along the western side of Africa, there are other countries that prohibit entry to those without YF Certificates. Of course, it is true to say than any other World Cruise faces the same issues, and one would expect that they have solutions to the vaccination issues. Azamara, surely, should be able to organise things... I realise some may not be willing to take the YF vaccine, but I feel that this is best left to another thread.
  5. We always take a suite. We have never been denied a table in Specialty Dining, but we prefer to eat early (6:30 pm). Once or twice in nearly 100 nights we have had to accept a later booking. If you are keen on attending the shows, timing of your reservations needs to be carefully judged. Experience shows that relying on your butler may not be the best policy. We have found that getting to the reservations desk in person as early as possible can usually guarantee a table at your preferred time. But, be sure to factor in the White Night...
  6. I doubt that Venice will relax the current restrictions. Overcrowding and environmental reasons are not likely to diminish. The Port Authority is probably the most definitive source of information. For one, I would not rely on Azamara or a TA.

The wines do not change on the cruise unless there are shortages. Yes they check which package you have, when ordering something not included in the standard package. You will be asked to present your room key card. I think that suites include a small selection of spirits, but (AFAIK) this in not included in your category. The line for Mosaic: it depends on what time you go, but I have never seen a queue. Maybe two or three waiting, maximum. There is a drinks station in Windows.

Digressing! The history of IPA is not necessarily as simple as it might seem. Although much of British beer was not 'hopped' in the 18th and 19th centuries, the preservative properties of hops were known and used in beers for many* years before IPA. In fact, IPA was a designation of a type of beer that had existed for decades before. *The Belgians were using hops in beers a millennium earlier.

Well, there was a time when Boddingtons Bitter featured on the 'extras' list. But it wasn't available on our last two, possibly three cruises - so since mid–2022. Boddingtons is, of course, a pale ale, but I am not sure it is an IPA.
  10. On our last cruise (Feb/March `23) the Cruise sales staff miscalculated our points, and assumed that we would progress from Discoverer to Plus during that cruise. Even though we had not passed the threshold, she confirmed that we would qualify for the six nights discount for any cruise >= 7 nights duration booked at that time. Since the progression was, to all intents and purposes, inevitable, she could apply the benefits. But, no addition discount offers were available to us a year ago. Here's what Azamara's web site says: Complimentary nights are combinable with Quarterly Brand Offers, Flash Sales, Travel Partner promotions, Back-to-Back Benefits, onboard booking savings, Azamara Circle Quarterly Savings, Net Rates, Last Minute Voyages, and National Account Hosted Programs. Unless stated otherwise, the Offer is not combinable with Closed User Rates, Employee Rates, Interline Rates, and Travel Agent Rates. Complimentary nights cannot be used with pre-and post-cruise land programs. Complimentary nights earned when reaching different levels cannot be redeemed together. Any remaining complimentary nights will be forfeited if not used before the one-year redemption period; this applies to all tier levels. Terms may vary by country.
  11. I am not sure how authoritative this is, but it shows that cruise ships will dock in either Port Fusina or Port Marghera.
  12. I found it - eventually, but it was very difficult to provide all the data. The app refused to save the information I provided (even after pressing 'Store'), so I switched to the desktop version on my PC. On the PC each time I invoked the 'Continue' or 'OK' button error messages popped-up. I am not sure whether the data has been saved. I was beginning to lose patience with the process so I gave up. I'll check again when I feel less stressed.
  13. Thanks I see this – NOW. Of course, it is not obvious. On my Android phone in the Seaware app, there's a small icon that looks like a document (next to the little brush thingy). This leads to the following screen: I saw this a while ago. I used the drop-down (COVID VACCINE), hoping that there would be more options, but it referred only to COVID vaccinations etc.. NOT Passports. Until I read your post, I had not realised that there was additional content below this! It is necessary to scroll the page to reveal the form for data relating to Passports. Thank you. Mind you, it is quite a stupid form. It won't let me paste any data! And in the list of countries the first two entries are United States followed by Ukraine! The rest of the world is then listed alphabetically!
  14. Interesting. How and where did you 'enter your info'. Presumably you mean that you provided the relevant data into some online form? But where is this form, and how is it accessed, please?
  15. Thanks. I found that independently. It think I misunderstood what was being said. I had assumed (wrongly, it seems) that the process was personalised, but the Web page referred to in your response is generic. I do not see a link in the pages where my bookings are listed. (Is this what you mean by my account?) At first glance this all looks much the same as the process with which I am familiar. Am I missing something?
  16. I made the final payment for our April 18th sailing a few days ago, but I don't see any means of boarding information against the booking. I would be grateful if you could be so kind as to identify exactly where and when I might expect to find this information.
  17. Grandma Gilly was talking about Journey in the early part of last year (I think). I was adding that the problem seemed to gave resolved itself by early March. But, it must, be said at the preliminary safety mister, the Captain took great pains to emphasise hygiene measures!
  18. Whilst this thread is now straying — and I hesitate to prolong the digression — I would add that we were on Journey for the repositioning cruise in March 2024 (Cape Town to Lisbon). AFAIK know there was no epidemic of stomach illnesses by that time.
  19. Why not pose your question as a 'Poll' - separately if necessary? The results are likely easier to analyse than multiple, lengthy responses.
  20. Maybe some of your questions are answered here: https://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/articles/7-reasons-azamara-is-the-cruise-line-for-you
  21. Maybe... if you have lots of unused OBC. Last time we were on Gran Canaria we took an Azamara tour as far as Puerto Morgan, but returned to the ship by taxi, including a slight detour into Puerto Rico to view a house my parents' built. The cost for the taxi, as I recall, was €60.
  22. Be warned... On the last occasion I asked Azamara's concierge for a price for a transfer to our hotel on debarkation at Lisbon we were quoted $97. We took a taxi - it cost €13!
