    Room service

I my experience the 'hot' food generally arrives tepid.
  2. I suggest that you make hard copies of all the relevant documentation and send it to the CEO, by a signed-for method. Include a detailed summary of the events and problems arising.
  3. I would not let the ship's laundry anywhere near any delicates of the nature you describe, under any circumstances.
  4. For my money the Experience More package only makes sense on a cruise at least 4 or 5 days longer than yours but it depends on what benefits you have already obtained via your loyalty status or class of stateroom. As for a possible minor (£21.15) discrepancy in pricing, surely it is not a significant amount when compared the cost of the holiday?

But neither side is claiming anything! AFAIK Azamara and RCCL are totally silent about the quality, integrity, structure, nature and content of the data. The theories/explanations posted in this topic are speculation.

I am not sure that anyone here can say authoritatively/with absolute certainty that RCCL are/were not being co-operative. I think that it is an assumption.
  7. Please advise if you intend to visit Future Cruise Sales/Loyalty. I have a question I'd like you to ask on my behalf. If you're not going, I'll raise it as a topic in this forum.

With respect... it occurs to me that the old saying 'too many cooks spoil the broth' maybe true here. Whilst a multi-pronged approach might work in some situations, it doesn't seem to be effective in this case. There may be some merit in deciding that one party (you or your TA) deal with this so as to obtain a definitive, and hopefully, satisfactory. Furthermore, if this not urgent, perhaps it might minimise stress (for all parties) to wait and see?

Thanks. I found this definition before I posted, but it did not clarify things for me.

But, on the other hand, since the majority of Azamara's guests currency is not USD, it may not be a good thing. If the US currency is worth more against other currencies at the time of payment when compared to the rate of exchange at the time of booking, most passengers will be paying more. Or, of course, the converse could be true if USD weakens.

The use of this word as a verb is new to me, and I cannot find a definition that enlightens me as to what you mean in this context. I'd be very grateful if you could explain.

On the basis of what I wrote in post #1764, unless the bookings were made when the rate was the same, it is possible that OBC quoted in Canadian Dollars will have a different USD value. But as I said, I may be completely, utterly, hopelessly wrong. Plus, for some bizarre reason, I feel that the 'fixed' rate applies to other purchases. On our most recent cruise, because the Indulgence Package was very good value (IMHO) for a 21-day cruise, I was pleasantly surprised at how (comparatively) inexpensive it was when I paid in GBP. As I recall, the rate that was applied was much, much better than the mid-market rate on the day on which I purchased the package. As an UK ex-pat, exchange rates are important to me. I am painfully aware of fluctuations.

I may be completely wrong about this (please don't shout at me if I am, I'm only trying to help), but I believe that the rate of exchange used for your booking is the rate at the time of the booking. Whether that is the date of confirmation, or the date on which you paid, I would not know. That rate is applied for the conversion from your currency to USD dollars. So - assuming I am correct - say the exchange rate at the time of booking in your currency (say, Slabovian Dinars i.e. SLD) was 1SLD equals 2USD, for the purchase of goods or services (when using your OBC) quoted in SLD, you will get 2USD for every 1SLD. Whether this fixed rate also applies to purchases not using OBC, I am unsure. Furthermore, if I'm correct, I do not know what rate (mid-market, that used by their Credit Card processor, etc.) they might be using.

If you don't need the strawberries & champagne, I'll gladly accept them on your behalf! It's the very least I can do to help.
  23. I am not sure that your assumption is correct. 80% full could refer to numbers (in fact the cruise to which you refer was just under 82% full) rather than cabins occupied. For some officers, the number of guests is, I would argue, more important than the number of cabins available. But, I suppose, either interpretation is equally valid. On our latest cruise (an expensive 21-day repositioning), the ship (numbers and cabins) was nearly full. On our previous cruise, there were far more solo travellers. Now, if the cabins were all occupied, it could be said that the ship was full. But, as one moved around the ship, went to restaurants, events, etc. it was obvious that the ship was not full.
