  1. Another way to increase profits is to never deliver package drinks ordered via the app. There have been numerous posts by people who ordered a drink and never had it delivered to them.
  2. That would reduce sales to people who do not have free photos from a package. Walking past a photo gallery triggers a "let's look at our pictures" impulse reaction in people who then might order and pay for some photos. But in a cabin, most passengers will not think of taking the time to look at photos on the cabin TV. Result, less sales.
  3. One would think they transfer a reservation for a no longer existing seafood restaurant to the new seafood restaurant, not at random to a steakhouse or Italian restaurant.
  4. I have no doubt that some balcony cabins will open up between now and when you cruise starts. a) If Princess will allow it, ask to be put on a waitlist for a balcony cabin. b) Check balcony availability online at least daily. If you see one becomes available (even as a Guaranty), reserve it with a hold (which means no deposit) and contact Princess to switch to that balcony cabin.
  5. How was the Internet speed? Did you try streaming? If so, how well did it work? Is it 3 prints/person with the package or 3 prints/cabin? Were you able to get regular dishes with the package in place of the fancy ones? Did you take advantage of this perk on those three evenings? If so, how early did you get to the show?
  6. That would be true except the entry level for each category cannot be booked any other way. If, for example Cabin L237 on the CB (entry level BF for balconies) was one price for selecting it with a refundable deposit and a lower price if assigned to you by Princess with a non-refundable deposit. But that is not the case. It is simply taking a whole set of cabins that were previously available at a lower price than the next level and (supposedly) charging the same lower price as before. And that is great for anyone waiting until close to the cruise to book using the Drop & Go rates. But if you want to book a cruise more than 2 months before embarkation, you are paying a higher price than D&G rates and have lost the flexibility you used to have with a booking.
  7. Often while inside the cabin I have the Medallion in a pocket and I am near the door. It does not seem to unlock it if I am inside the cabin as I do not hear the "click" I can hear when outside the cabin as I approach the cabin.
  8. They do not seem to mention it anymore: Exceptional Value Book shore excursions with confidence! We offer competitive pricing, friendly service and unmatched destination expertise.
  9. I have often booked a specific cabin at the entry level for a category. To me, it makes no difference if the same size cabin is forward, mid-ship or aft, lower down or higher up. There may be some specific areas I would want to avoid such as under the pool deck. I am unhappy that I cannot book some specific cabins that I have liked in the past because Princess wants to make them only available to let Princess pick your cabin. And the non-refundable aspect is a bummer. o Find a sale and want to rebook the same cruise? Lose that deposit. o Need to switch to the exact same cruise a week later? Lose that deposit.
  10. Have the evening showtimes in the Princess Theater basically stayed the same the entire cruise?
  11. Princess only has one speed to offer. And they call it "the best WI-FI at sea."
  12. In December I printed out the one page summary and used the mini-coupons from that summary with no problem on the Ruby..
  13. No. The forward elevators do go to deck 6 where there is a path through the art gallery to the atrium and the deck 6 center dining room. It is the deck 6 aft elevators that cannot be used to get you to the center dining room on deck 6.
  14. Did they give you the minutes? Or was the survey completed at Princess.com which does not require using your minutes on the ship?
  15. Since you have a single booking number, you can only bid on the cruise that booking number is for, both segments together. As is normal when a cruise can be booked multiple ways (as one cruise with a single booking or as two cruses with two bookings numbers), cabins are available only for the way of booking. Thus cabins available on the individual segments cannot be booked for the B2B as one booking and vice versa, When it comes to bidding, I do not know if Princess has the same divisions of cabin availability, but I expect so.
  16. That is different than what it has been on other Princess ships which has been $15 price limit and, as you had, none of the new stuff.
  17. That is what happens when Princess is providing the OBC such as the OBC associated with a FCD. But if you give them a gift card in US$ it will be converted to Australia $ using whatever poor exchange rate Princess currently uses.
  18. If you want your $10 back, the only option is to cancel the order and make it again. But based on posts in another thread, it is likely even with the package it may say it is still charging you $10 for it, but these posts say at the end the charge card you enter is never charged.
  19. Witness all the people who book specialty dining even though they have already paid for dinner in the main dining room.
  20. Even if your booking is with a TA, you can call Princess and a competent rep can look at the history of your booking, see you once had approved SH OBC, and then restore it to the booking.
  21. Reservations are at 20 minute intervals, so there is no 6:30 reservation. If you do not want 7 PM, your earlier choices would be 6, 6:20 and 6:40.
