  1. The reason is that AIDA is not meant to be for international guests. They are aiming for german-speaking clients only. their whole concept( entertainment, daily program, food) is designed for the german market only. They don`t prohibit non-german speaking guests but they do nothing to support them as well. I know that sometimes they are offering a few cruises on their newest and biggest ships (Nova and Cosma) also on the spanish market, especially for cruises leaving from spanish ports. But these are only a few and only for max. 200-400 spanish guests. But apart from that they practically only want to have german-speaking guests.
  2. In Mykonos they offer a complimentary shuttle bus to the city. At least they did on my trip on the breakaway in November. But Mykonos can also be a tender port.
  3. they are using ship lifeboats as tenders. If there are no tenderboats available then of course tendering is not possible. But in this case the ship would not go to this port as you already mentioned.
  4. the epic is passenger wise slightly larger and is tendering since almost 10 years dozens of times at the port of cannes,France. So the size itself is not an exclusion criterion.
  5. And if you upgrade to another car and accept the conditions that you only get what the other car has to offer then you can demand what you want, you won`t get it. The only mistake from NCL i can see is that the agent obviously did tell them something wrong regarding the free at sea of the upgraded room.
  6. As ridiculous as these offers are i am sure that if they were really against the law then there would have been already several lawsuits of consumer protection organizations against NCL.
  7. Beginning of November on the Breakaway in europe they still did it.
  8. the only difference i saw is that currently they are offering the free at sea package for half price than usual.(at least in germany)
  9. Two weeks ago on the breakaway there were two lines. One for the people with reservations and one for the people without.
  10. In case of any possible attack cruise ships are the safest places on the planet. It is practically impossible to get on them with any kind of weapon, no matter whether in port or at sea. And we all know that terrorists(any any other kind of criminals) always look for the easiest targets. It is more likely to be shot during shopping at a grocery store than being attacked on a cruise ship.
  11. I always ask the tour guide for a specific time. Not "in XX minutes",that is to unspecific for me.
  12. Hi guys, i didn`t want to start a new thread for my question, hope somebody can help me. I reserved a spot on Burn the floor on the breakway(sailing next thrusday) but unfortunately mother wanted to reserve later and now the 7:30 show is not available anymore. So we decided we would just book the show for the other date, cause on the other date the 7:30 is still available. Now i have the problem that when booking this show i got the error message that there is already a booking that conflicts with this booking. But i haven`t anything booked on that date yet. Could it be that i can make only one show reservation for burn the floor at the same time? If yes,how can i cancel the reservation i already made? I checked on the app and the desktop page but i can`t find any option to cancel/remove the reservation. thanks a lot in advance for your help.
  13. But obviously big enough to open a separate thread for it. Exactly. But it is always a matter of how much you invest and how much you get in return. I guess the number of people choosing another cruise line over NCL just because of missing US sports on TV is way to low to even think about getting the licenses. The licenses would cost much more than they could ever generate additional revenue with.
  14. At least in germany they are legally obligated to compensate you when "the character of the trip changes". What exactly this means is not defined.Usually you don`t get compensation if they change e.g. the isles of a greek isles cruise. But if they go to Italy instead of greece then they might have to compensate. This is even applicable in case of events out of the cruise lines control. Unfortunately as most of the NCL guests don`t live in germany, this information is completely useless for most.
  15. Practically all modern ships do have two main switchboards. For exactly that reason there is NEVER the situation of a total power loss for a longer period.
  16. I`m wondering about taking out the other two greek isles.I personally can`t find any reason why to kick out these two isles.
  17. Stopping sales process of future cruises is for sure the last thing they are currently thinking of. They are trying to find solutions for the cruises already being in that area or starting shortly. Once they have found solutions, they will find solutions for the cruises being in that area in a more distant future. And once they have found solutions therefore as well they will update their website with updated itineraries and updated excursion options.
  18. I think you can make the checkin, get rid of the luggage and then do whatever you want. I don`t think that it is mandatory to board the ship right after checkin.
  19. I have been in all three of the se cities/ports last year. The question is: what exactly do you want to know ?
  20. Without having read all the postings in between: It seems that the NCL checkin process is not always accurate regarding the proof of citizenship. I will be on a cruise to Italy,Greece and Malta,so completely within the EU. For me as german citizen my ID card would be absolutely enough. But when checking in ,the NCL site insisted on a valid passport.I had to input the data of my passport. I didn`t have any other option to choose from.
  21. there is a huge amount of nightlife on the Epic. Practically the whole ship is full of live music, dancing and singing.
  22. Wow, this reduces the number of cruise ships docking simultaneously from seven(max. eight) to five.
  23. At least Antalya was a turnaround port for the german-marked-based cruise line TUI cruises a few times in the past. So in general they should be able to handle it.
  24. It might be kindness, but apart from that its the law ! You have to react to SOS calls.
  25. The greek islands do have enough capacity for cruise ships and tourists. November/December are off-season,so docking space won`t be a problem and with a few weeks time in advance arranging enough excursion capacities should also be not a problem. At least much easier then egypt or Turkey.
