  1. hoping things get better for you. Process of elemination in testing and doctors trying to figure out things can be tiring at best.
  2. they are long and mostly for folks who have the time and money. Well that is one way to keep kids and party folks away. Still wish some of the 21 days were 14 days.
  3. ON Allure last year the captain was Rick from Canada and he kept well hidden except for the rising tide during the veteran's salute. I found him to be interesting in his daily announcements though. One of the best Captain Corner in recent years was early on when Wonder was in PC before going to Europe. The takeout captain was Rob H and he gave a great talk and then met with folks afterwards.
  4. I like the smashed up VW in the promenade on Symphony as well as the musical stairs leading up to buffet. I like the Aqua show on Wonder the best but the Ice show on Symphony has those drones over the ice at the beginning. And poor Oasis might have the BBQ place, but they still have CATS. Looking forward to Utopia to see what is included or excluded from the 5 sister ships.
  5. and a long with that comes he who is the loudest will get their way so as to turn off the noise. I think overall folks push limits everywhere in life. But I am very good at being my own guard dog and snapping at rudeness. It is the height of rudeness to climb on a recliner that is wide enough for two and you are not with that person. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww.
  6. Which I found to be noisy if sitting outside also they removed THE BIG chairs in the lawn area. The Silhouette had them and were fun to climb on
  7. Well I did pay attention to price since I was trying to select room. still, I found MSC website a bit annoying and have given up trying
  8. I would never EVER remove gratuity for any crew. Just plain mean for hardworking folks
  9. And I stayed in room in front of ship where I could hear the crew bar under the bow. It is best to a room as high up as possible
  10. Thanks. Wish it would say so. I guess MSC is not for me then. the cheapest rooms have to be assigned and that I do not like.
  11. So what gives with MSC. I tried for a half hour and no matter what type of room and what ship, never got a prompt to select a room I am about to give the heck up unless someone can explain the mystery to me. I travel on 6 other cruise lines, and can always book a room of my choosing. thanks in advance for any help
  12. I suppose one could sit comfy in their room with food from buffet and watch on the TV. still fun to be with others as well.
  13. I know Anthem has a few on each floor in the middle of the ship. You share and entrance with a suite and the rooms are on a corner with hallway on two sides. I know the rooms are small with a 3/4 bed and I had a mattress that felt like a camp cabin thinness type. But the bathroom was surprisingly big. I would never pick this one again since my headboard would vibrate when the nearby door to suite would shut or slam. then on some newer ships, they have the solo balcony rooms (Quantum class) also in the middle of the ship near lifeboats. These rooms I would do
  14. just beautiful. I did not see this on my last visit so thanks for sharing. nice colors and it almost looks like Moorish type with tiles.
  15. hmm something to investigate, I guess. But I am one who spends a lot of time picking my perfect room. And I do find it hard to get excited about anything free wondering what the catch is.
  16. sorry to hear this. I have family in GA and know all too well. toodles
  17. oh well sorry you did not like my answer. You must like to critique others as well. life is not always PEACHY
  18. So I found your blog after some folks on cc shared the link and I must say I can now see why you have not posted much here in the way of photos. Over on your blog they are nicely documented and described. My favorite so far is your Panama Canal crossing. OMG you got so many wonderful photos including birds. Nice to see the first bridge completed as I was there in 2018 and it was not completed. I have done the Canal twice, once as an excursion on partial transit on Zuiderdam in 2011, and then a full transit on NCL Bliss first time largest cruise ship in new channel 2018. For the 2011 trip, I did the full transit on a smaller boat and then we bused back to Colon. I am glad I found your blog and it does look like you have others. Continue having a nice trip. I liked Wellington too.
  19. Hmmm did I miss something? No mention of Capt Kate or her cat? did you not get to meet her?
  20. I avoid any and all spa stuff on ships in case something goes wrong. would want to be on land if a quick trip to emergency room or urgent care. just saying.
  21. I eat to live NOT live to eat. cruising is seeing things including the ocean and enjoying entertainment too. Fine dining for me is my kitchen because I can add herbs and spices and make things way so like. For cruising I do enjoy good bread though. I also expect better food in specialty restaurants.
