  1. My sympathy to you as I also got stung by this. I took a look at one of the flyers and in the fine print - Hard to read but says- 'If you change or confirm your Future Cruise Reservation, you booking may no longer be eligible for the special pricing/promotions offered when you were aboard. Your reservation would then booked under the prevailing rate and conditions at the time of change or booking "
  2. Curious what the fine print says. I have a feeling it has a little provision in it that says the book later is dependent on promotion at time of booking. I know that I recently I upgraded a booking after final payment and kept my gratuities but lost the 800 OBC because the fare I booked was a special rate. In my case I was able to upgrade from a CS to Rs for $350 so was not upset at all.
  3. In my Mainframe Software consulting days - We would call them Undocumented Features (Bug).
  4. Segundo is basically an express service and only offer the Basic Drinks - none of the fancy ones that I recall. Advantage is often there is no line as oppose to the Main al Bacio which is slowed with pastry orders and blender drinks. Recently on some ships they have fired up a Express Service for just Coffee, Cappuccino and Latee at the Galato Bar
  5. I noticed it yesterday also. Good news is it is still there - But Hidden - Celebrity IT failure again. I swear they should have a Beta Test User Group Select a different Cruise At bottom - Don't see your Cruise? Let's Add it Then above the Expand you Horizon banner - Browse our Ships
  6. Looks like you had a wonderful day. I love the commercial district. It is so full of action and so many markets.
  7. It is incredible how welcoming the Japanese are. Every port had some type of welcome and farewell event. I wish I could remember which port but on put on a Firework Display for our Departure. Really impressive and heart felt. Hope they do that on your cruise.
  8. We picked up some Yen in advance. We bank with Wells Fargo and in Silicon Valley most banks have it on hand as well as Pounds and Euros so just stop in and pick them up. We used Apple Pay with no problem at most location but used Yen for tipping guides, incidentals etc. We used Apple Pay in Cabs, Train Tickets and gift shops. I of course carry my chip card if needed. Going back 3 years ago many eating places are like McDonalds and you order in advance from a machine and then get a number. I was a bit perplexed the first time and a couple school girls came up and volunteered to help us. They say they love to help out tourists so they can practice their English
  9. Happy to hear. A big shout out to the Retreat Team (but will probably p*** off those not in suites)
  10. Not un-common in the past many would book multiple cruises and then cancel prior to final payment. Now with the Non_Refundable Deposit I thought that would have been minimized.
  11. Heard on that Social Media Site that Immigration was a disaster and they only had 3 agents to handle the whole ship. Curios if they provided suites with priority. They have often done that when we sailed through India.
  12. Suites can checkin at any time - and if no lounge available they can board as soon as boarding begins.
  13. Suite - Often the Zenith is Black and Silver other times just the Suite Silver and Burgundy.
  14. I'm using Firefox and iPhone Edge and no problems. As others suggest try a different browser. Also they often recommend when having a problem to clear cache and history and try again.
  15. I'll let you know - we will be on for 26 day Nov/Dec. When we were on Apex in April May for 32 days - The poultry chef on the first 2 couldn't cook to save his life. It was like trying to eat road kill. When you take poultry off their already limited menu it was tough. At least for the last 11 days they had a new poultry chef and he did a great job. The were in the midst of the change over and didn't have the Daniel B's menu available at all.
  16. They don't but sometimes especially in non-US locations they just don't understand and try to heard us to the General Boarding area. Once past the first check to get through the front door the staff generally understand. It also has helped us when traveling with non-suite guests to get them through the first check. We did a TA into Yokohama so didn't need a pass for the boarding of the B2B. Very often Zenith members have lots of trouble - I've even responded to one agent who said we couldn't use the Suites Entrance - LOOK AT THAT FLAG - It reads Zenith and Suites. Sorry --- Sorry --
  17. I don't recall but may be what ever a bottle of Elegance sells for. Basically an exchange of Like for Like e.g. Chardonnay or Merlot by Elegance or the value against the price of a better bottle. I usually politely confirm with the Sommelier in advance if I can trade it in for something more palatable, and I don't even drink.
  18. Iain often does that. As you know the selection changes with each of the suites. - I believe SS and CS get that Wonderful (sic) Elegance. RS and above they give better Sparkling and Substitutes. He usually trades it in for a Louis Jadot Chardonnay
  19. I haven't seen the Max go up but in my case I have seen the Max go down below what I had originally bid and if I had not looked would have paid far more than what I did for an upgrade. Recently the Minimums have on some cruises been obscene and you could purchase the room on the open market cheaper.
  20. I have to agree with you. It takes some big kahuna's to admit that we made mistakes and we are now trying to fix some of them. Many a CEO kicks in their heels and say It's my playbox and we will play by my rules. I heard many good things potentially about increasing variety in the MDR -- What about Luminae - They have had the same boring menu for 10+ year and on Edge class we don't have the ability to order off the MDR menu. I'll hold off my opinion until my next cruise. We board Edge - the day after Thanksgiving
  21. Was the theater pretty full? When we were on Apex you couldn't get in unless you showed up 15-20 minutes in advance - Luckily on Chic nights suites have reserved seating.
  22. For those that don't like gratis bottle of bubbly - Just have your room attendant send it to the dining room and they will give you a credit toward a bottle of your choice.
  23. There was a tread on this exact question about a two week ago. I've seen it happen but rare you can read mine and others responses.
  24. Generally yes but I've often seen the First Slots remain open for a number of days after checkin begins We are lucky living on West Coast we only have to stay awake until 9:00 PM. I generally just log in using the app and selecting arrival time for each of us and then come back at my leisure and complete the rest of the Check-In Process
