  1. It's kinda cool. We were thinking about taking the Art Work tour and the Retreat Hostess said she could give us the basics of the tour for free while we had pre-dinner drinks--- she was incredible and then next day gave us a photo booklet with pictures of the Major Art. We then went out and tried to find all of them. this is what the open hill looks like
  2. We have had the same experience 2X. Decided not to try again. As you all know the Chef's Market tours are very expensive and in our case they cancelled it on the last port day which left us little time to spend the NR once they got it credited back to our account. We actually started using it even before it was credited back as they later apply it to NR first.
  3. Yes you need to either pre-book or book once aboard. If travel in RS and above with free Specialty Dining you can call the Shoreside Concierge and make your request.
  4. It doesn't show in the app until you are aboard the ship and then under account. You can however see the NR Credits using the web. The Refundable will not show until you are aboard.
  5. Curious if you have tried one? Out of curiosity I ordered one as a Second Entree telling our waiter I really just wanted to try it. My personal opinion is Yuck but you must take with a grain of salt as I hate Beets and they have both beets and beet juice in them.
  6. To my knowledge they had the original Chef's Table Menu and just before Covid Shut down they changed it to the Daniel B Chef's Dinner. To me I much preferred the original menu. On this tread - Post #9 has a picture of the menu - posted by @GottaKnowWhen
  7. Recently they have had Heineken Zero, O'dule's for beer and Fre (NA Wine by Sutter Home). They have it in White, White Zinfandel, Red and Bubbly. To me the White is too sweet and the Bubbly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The others are very drinkable and and I drink them daily since I don't drink Alcohol. When in Retreat the bartender asked if I would like to try a non-Alcoholic Gin. I agreed. I took one taste and almost spewed it across the room. The worst tasting stuff I've ever tried. I wouldn't say it has any resemblance to Gin (very strong herbal taste that just stayed on you pallet).
  8. I've also noticed sometimes the Retreat Deck staff come around offering Sliders (small burgers) and Fruit on a stick.
  9. Norris - Not sure if you have noticed across from this going AFT near the MDR - They have slats then when walking forward you can see the hull of ship and lots of names and writing from the construction workers. If walking AFT you don't notice them as the slats are on a 45 degree angle.
  10. It may vary but my experience has been that it is based on Departure Port. I logged on at 5:00 PM PDT for a cruise departing Reykjavik which is Midnight Reykjavik time and was able to select a checkin time. Out of an abundance of caution you could always try the earliest time and if not available then check back Miami time.
  11. The only one that benefited from the overabundance of pillows and Kitch it Kelly Ann's Bank account. We usually just pile them up in the closet.
  12. All HDMI devices will work on the ships. The trick is getting to a LogOn screen (commonly referred to Hotel Mode). Found these instructions - How to connect an Apple TV to hotel Wi-fi Using an iPhone or iPad, connect to the hotel's Wi-Fi network. ... Hook up the Apple TV to the hotel room's television and turn it on. On the Apple TV, open the Settings app. Select Network then Wi-Fi, and select the hotel's Wi-Fi network. Good luck
  13. The CC minutes are all premium.
  14. Agree --- Iain and I both worked there and feel very comfortable and safe there regardless the time of day. If you are a foodie you will have to try the restaurant SENSES that we dined at. Truly one of the best dinners I have ever had.
  15. Norris - Now I'm sitting home surviving shore time by reading live posts. Amsterdam has to be one of my favorite Cities - Your photos really capture the many sides of the City.
  16. They still have Basic . The new rules indicate that you an not purchase Basic as a stand alone purchase but you can still upgrade to Premium if you already have Basic or have it as a perk. If you purchase the all inclusive for below AQ it is my understanding that you will receive the Basic Package and then can upgrade it to Premium. I'm sure if I'm incorrect someone will correct me. If you already have Basic you will keep it and can upgrade. For your husband if he upgraded already he will receive a refund of part of the Upgrade charge in line with the new upgrade pricing.
  17. My understanding of the new Deposit is the Deposit is 10% of the cruise fare or the Standard Deposit (whichever is higher). It would make sense that if cruise prices are raising you might notice that the deposits are raising of over the standard deposit level.
  18. My experience has been that if you wish a wine that is not on the Luminae Wine menu and available at another bar, the Sommelier will try to locate it for you. He may not be able to do this the first night but I have had them get it and have it on hand for me for the remainder of the cruise. Same for the Retreat Bar.
  19. None of us are aware of the Logarithm that is used by PlusGrade. They strive to maximize the revenue from upgrades. While I don't know more than others, from personal experience I would think that current booking has a bearing on the winning bid. Remember that each upgrade then sets off a chain of upgrades to fill the cabins that were opened up due to an upgrade. There are also Bonus uplifts of bids according to CC Status. Recently I bid maximum on an upgrade from a CS to a Villa and did not get it but the person (who I knew in a RS) was upgraded to a Villa at less than full bid price and I won the RS they vacated at less than a Max bid (and less than my Villa Bid).
  20. I would check again - the agent doesn't appear to be knowledgeable On the FAQ is specifically addresses it with this question. Does the upgrade include any additional promotions? The upgrade does not include any additional promotions. However, you get to keep whichever promotions you already have.
  21. I've seen them go down and went in and adjusted my bid accordingly.
  22. While I have never purchased this before I did some googling and found some intersting information. Also Cost seems high at 11.15% of Trip cost for the Any Reason that doesn't seem to cover all Reasons. Unfortunately, Celebrity’s list of cancellation reasons lacks some important coverages. We recommend policies that also include: Default or bankruptcy of the common carrier or travel supplier Cancel For Work Reason (traveler required to work during the trip) Employer-initiated transfer of 250 miles or more Destination uninhabitable or unreachable by fire, flood or natural disaster Mechanical breakdown of a common carrier Traveler involved in accident en-route to departure Mandatory evacuation Hurricanes Documented theft of passports or visas Jury duty, or subpoena. Celebrity CruiseCare Travel Protection will provide a full refund if you have to cancel for a covered reason, but their Cancel For Any Reason policy only provides a 90% refund in the form of a future cruise credit. Also, their protection plans do not cover any travel arrangements booked outside of your cruise.
  23. This should not affect the price match re-pricing. I just repriced one this week.
  24. If I recall it was Pork Belly served on a bed of White Beans. I'm not a big fan of Pork Belly so passed.
  25. Your experience may be different but on my last Apex cruise of about 40 days they were in the range of 95%+ accurate. Only on one occasion did they have the wrong menu for the day. On out 3rd cruise they had to pull the Daniel B's Chicken dish as they had not received it. It was removed on both the App and Printed Menus'
