  1. How exciting. I was born on the Campus of Syracuse NY when my father was doing his Masters.
  2. I was surprised how they have been changing the landscape with both oil rigs and now Windmills. It is incredible how many you see coming into Birmingham.
  3. Incredible. Iain was born in Kilwinning and his family have been there since the Mid 1880's. Not many people know where Kilwinning is.
  4. I was seeing them from ashore on our walk today. Incredible that they have them so close to the harbor entrance.
  5. Thanks for both. We just ended up spending the day in Invergordon. Nice little town. Amazing that we probably have a larger population on the ship than ashore. Lots of nice shops and places to grab a bite. Since Inverness is only 3 1/2 hours from Iain's Sister's home they have been many times. I do remember taking the kids there an searching for Nessie.
  6. Now Iain is the Master of the Guiness Tour. When we lived in Dublin he would talk all our Guests there while I worked. I've to this day never been. I would say he has been there over a dozen times and of course the Fresh Guiness is so much better than that which is canned.
  7. We were indeed in Belfast and the City put on the shuttle. We later saw it would have been cheaper for the 4 of us to use a Cab. They have the "Traditional London Cab's) I think it was $20 each way. I think you had to buy the bus tickets (Round Trip) at the port. At least didn't see anyone selling on the way back. Just had to give them back the rigid cardbord ticket. We also were in Belfast on a Sunday. Not much open until after noon but the City Market is open early and is quite interesting
  8. Mary Ann. I do remember meeting you on the stairs after so many days. last night Iain met a person that he used to smoke with from the same cruise. Funny how small the world is.
  9. Due to a heavy storm coming in The Captain cancelled the Shetland Islands for tomorrow. We are instead going to Invergordon (Close to Inverness). It was a wise decision and even on the more southern route past the Orkney's we had a huge swell hit during dinner and you could hear dishes in the Kitchen in Luminae crashing to the floor. Luckily It was only 2 or 3 swells that came through and thing are starting to calm down In the next hour we should be sheltered by Scotland. They quickly have put on 6 tours and handed out schedules for the trains and busses to those that want to do Inversess on their own.
  10. After a 2+ hour coffee to chat, Isin and I took off for the Botanical Gardens and Alex and Evelyn went shopping I got a kick out of this. The Fired up Ribs must have burnt up the building.
  11. Finally Iain’s cousin and asked her. Excuse me do you know the way to Kilwinning (where they are from). She looked confused and didn’t recognize him. When the reveal came there was surprise and excitement
  12. The shuttle was either 10 dollars, euros or pounds. No brained we paid in dollars the dropped us off across from City hall
  13. Having some catching up Sunday was Belfast and Iain had a surprise for Evelyn. He made arrangements to meet his cousin that she hasn’t seen in about 25 years. We were to meet at the market.
  14. On the TA the Buffet was incredible but the ship was near full capacity. I looked one night on the British Isle Cruise with only about 60% capacity and the offerings was still good but much less than on the TA. On the other side of the equation, there were only a handful of guest dining up there They had a carving station open, Pasta, Pizza, a number of themed items. Grill Station with Steak, Fish and Chicken and deserts Certainly I would not have an issue eating there. Pizza station open LATE (about 1:30 AM)
  15. You have me salivation. Definitely none on Apex.
  16. Constellation has not gone through Revolution so you will not have a plug next to the beds. If I recall in the bedroom there will be 110 and possibly 220 outlets on the underside of the Vanity. You will probably need an extension cord. I believe behind the end tables on both side of the bed are 220V electrical sockets that are used by the bedside lamps. If you had a 3way 220 plug you could probably use it or unplug a light.
  17. I think still possible on S and M class. Either call you agent or Celebrity. if you want a table for two try anytime dining the can also accommodate shared tables
  18. Probably do --- My inspiration was a book I bought when we lived in Georgian Doors of Dublin -
