  1. Usually Shoreside concierge will arrange it for you if you can get a hold of them. Unfortunately I learned something recently on Silhouette B2B. I was trying to book first night through Shore side and told sold out. On the next segment I asked the Murano Manager and he said he can't open reservations until one day before the end of cruise. I found that if you have a special date you need a reservation just book it and pay for it and when on the ship they will refund as a Refundable OBC. It seems lately they are selling out first night totally without leaving room for RS and Above. I told the manager it was unacceptable and he got me in.
  2. Same for me. I cancelled one recently and got back two refunds equaling 900 in 3 days from my cancellation.
  3. oops sorry I thought you were asking about S-Class
  4. The trick it you have to go all the way to the screen where you put in credit card number then hit the Celebrity Logo and it pops up to put on hold. If you do it prior to Credit Card Screen it will only offer to leave reservation with no hold option.
  5. Since the OP was asking for real experience - On one of my Live posts someone posted the Celebrity Solstice Code Words from a Ships tour they took.
  6. Try Solstice Searching under Solstice Alaska 2022 - link below pops up lots of them and Eclipse for 2023 https://www.celebritycruises.com/itinerary-search?q=solstice-alaska-2022
  7. I tested positive on 4/29 on Silhouette but was on the second leg of a B3B. My case was a bit more complicated as I was tossed on the ship and had to quarantine in the U.K.and cancelled my 3rd cruise. Basically for me since our cruise was prior to May 1 (new rules apply). I was told I would receive 1 day prorated for the one day I was in Isolation plus 5 days at up to $250 per day for hotel plus up to $100 per person per day (with submission of receipts) and transportation. Like you I was never contacted but made contact with Engagement Center (2 1/2 weeks ago). In my case everything about my cancellation and days in isolation were already in their system So far I've received reimbursement for the pro rated days in isolation, AirBnB, Food and Car for 5 days. The only thing I haven't received is the reimbursement of about $18,000 for the cancelled cruise but have received the Port and Taxes before I even got home. The refunds have been coming back in drips and drabs and received the with the reimbursement for the pro rated day in Isolation just arriving yesterday. My timeline is to give you some idea of how things are slowly working their way through the system.
  8. Not sure of the full details but I believe that the reason is if you you called today and said you tested positive today you would not qualify to sail because you and your Fiance would not be able to answer 1. In the Last 14 days have you been in contact with someone with someone with influenza-like illness or confirmed Covid-19? Which would prohibit you from sailing for at least 14 days or when able to get a Certificate of Recovery. Also about 8 other questions about covid symptoms in past 14 days. If you want to sail soon I would get a confirmed PCR test TODAY - with a confirmed PCR test you can get a certificate of Recovery on the 11th day after the confirmed test and can use this on Celebrity for the next 3 months. By the way your Fiance would not be able to answer those same questions This is based on OP indication he was originally scheduled to sailing on Summit Jun 19th and want to sail on June 26th.
  9. You can best think of FBC as just a travel agent. They can and will book with whoever you wish. Prior to Covid they would offer special flights at a reduced fare for non-refundable fares. You could book one way or round trip with one carrier or many carriers. Since Covid they are mostly offering fully refundable fares due to the loss the took due to covid. The only real advantage I now see to using them is you do not pay until final payment. I prefer to book direct with the airlines mostly due to FBC's fees to change or cancel after final payment while the Airlines do not charge this extra fee.
  10. We generally tip at the end of each cruise for many who have made our cruise speil. If a Butler just does his job and nothing more we would not feel compelled to tip extra. This is rarely the case. Most butlers we have had done far and beyond to make our cruise comfortable but on occasion we've had a dud.
  11. shareholderbenefit@RCL.COM It's on the pdf form but they are trying to get people to use the online submission so making it hard to find the manual form.
  12. The name Butler and the Name Michael's were changed about 2 years ago. Your Butler is now called a Personal Retreat Host (albeit on my phone it still said butler) and does the exact same duties as they did in the past. My understanding the name was changed to reflect what they can do as some guests were intimidated by a "Butler". No it's not going to be like Downton Abbey but I have seen very little change in how they provide services to you. As others said If I had anyone tell me to do as the OP I would talk to the Hotel Director and the Suites Manager. Michaels's of course changed names many years ago to The Retreat.
  13. Agree. They did install 1 on Constellation to beta test the concept as Edge was in the final phase of construction. We were on her between Singapore and Rome and they had contractors on the whole time while they were rewireing the complete ship to support the app. We had a Zenith lunch with the Captain and his Senior Staff and he spoke of what was going on just before she went into Dry Dock. This was in April 2017
  14. No way would he let me go on a cruise by myself. LOL. I wouldn't let him leave me home either. After 33 years we are pretty much tied together as one package. I do however sometimes go on excursions by myself when he won't get out of bed for an early excursion.
  15. You will have to stop by al Bacio in the afternoon and pick up some little bite size lemon tarts. They are SO GOOD and just the right size for an afternoon snack. I would sometimes pick up 4 and it would last us 2 days. We will be doing the British Isles cruise next year and really enjoying the pictures.
  16. Sorry for the confusion. You may have posted two threads as I answered on your other thread. The reason I mentioned it here I had just moments earlier replied on the other one. Maybe you can ask CC to join the two threads.
  17. I have to agree with you. We normally travel in Suites and after awhile the Luminae menu can become really boring. We have traveled in AQ and eaten in Blu and find their menu has many more selections and I 've enjoyed them quite a bit. As for the OP Questions. On M and S class ships we have been able to order from MDR menu in both Luminae and Blu. It is not an option on E Class because they each have different kitchens.
  18. Not much different for me. I had to call the Zenith number about a reservation yesterday at 9:30 AM PDT, I was on hold for 50 minutes
  19. Glad it worked. It's like the regular Customer Service lines. If you ask a question you may receive 3 different replies. Yes, No and Maybe.
  20. There's another thread posted this morning and I posted my responses there.
  21. Great report and enjoy very much following along. I hope the remainder of you cruise is as enjoyable and look forward to any updates you have a chance to post.
  22. They discontinued on all ships. I can't remember when but it was multiple years ago. Most guest now have drink packages so has lost much of it's attraction. They still have a Captain's toast for Elite and above usually on the second day.
  23. I did the Land Tour in Alaska (from Anchorage to Denali and then joined the ship). I will preface this with it was one of the best tours we have ever taken. I do agree with you that there is so little information given before the tour. I'll try to fill you in. All of you hotel accommodations are included but meals are not included. They do give you water on the bus and often pass the hard candy bowl. On the first evening they will have briefings in small groups as the fellow members of your tour arrive. At this meeting they will be handing out luggage tags, schedules an a list of additional tours that you can purchase for each of the stops. On our tour what was included was Hotel Rooms for each night, The bus driver and a separate guide, Tickets on the scenic Rail portion of the journey. We did not pay admission to Denali so not sure if there was a fee included for this. At each top there is free time to wonder around and grab lunch. One evening we stayed at the Talkeentna Lodge which was a distance from town but the driver volunteered to take people into town who wished on his own time and stayed while they had dinner. The extra tours ran anywhere from about $75 pp to some high priced ones for airplane tours. We only took one tour, which was the extended Denali Park Tour and really worth the cost. We got to see all the big 5. The spotter (driver) had a digital movie camera and when would spot sometime would zoom in so you could see it on the tv monitors on the bus and you could then spot it yourself. Fell free to ask questions and in the mean time I'll see if I took a picture of the tours etc. By the way they give you two colored luggage tags. 1 for the items you want set outside your room each evening and the other that remain locked on the bus.
  24. @GenerationX Can't wait to follow along on you journey. You do show how much fun it can be to sail Solo, something I've never done.
  25. How exciting to see a post from Silhouette. Thank you for the wonderful post. Your photos really bring back so many memories and I will be following along. Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy Silhouette - we sure did.
